You don't need a SSN to open a bank account. But if you receive interest payments reportable on a 1099 and don't give the bank your SSN the payments can be subject to backup withholding. From the IRS website: When you open a new account, make an investment, or begin to receive payments reportable on Form 1099, you must provide your TIN. For certain types of payments, you must provide the TIN in writing and certify under penalties of perjury that it's correct. In those cases, the bank or business will give you Form W-9, Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification or a similar form. If your account or investment will earn interest or dividends, you must also certify that you're not subject to backup withholding due to previous underreporting of interest or dividends. You may be subject to backup withholding and the payer must withhold at a flat 24% rate when: you don't give the payer your TIN in the required manner

I have been taking injectable PreP for the last six months. I switched when Medicare started paying for it. It is more effective than oral Prep in preventing HIV. It is safe but like oral Prep it can have cause similar side effects. The most serious being kidney or liver problems. As with oral Prep you periodically have to take a blood test to check your liver and kidney functions. Also some people can experience significant soreness/pain at the injection site for several days. For me it hasn't been that bad.

If you are self employed you are suppose to make quarterly estimated tax payments. You estimated what your income will be for the year and calculate what the tax (federal income tax and self employment tax) would be on that income. Each quarter you send 25% of that estimated tax to the IRS. When you file your tax return if the actual tax you owe is greater than the estimated payments you made you have to pay the difference. And most likely an underpayment penalty. That penalty can be significant. Particularly if you never made any quarterly payments. Taxes can be complicated and confusing. I would advise your friend to seek advice from a good tax accountant. -
Yes the pharmacy would have to be a Part B provider. The large national chains Walgreens, CVS etc. are enrolled in Part B. I get mine prescription from Walgreens. If you get injectable Prep from your physician or a clinic, they would have to accept Medicare assignment.

I've have been paying for my PreP prescription out of pocket using a GoodRx coupon. The copay on my Part D plan was $150/month. Yesterday when I picked up my refill the pharmacist told me I no longer have to pay anything since Medicare Part B now pays the total cost. This great news. I'm now considering switching to the injectable form of PreP to avoid taking a daily pill. https://www.hiv.gov/blog/now-medicare-part-b-coverage-pre-exposure-prophylaxis-prep-for-hiv-prevention

RM not accepting Visa anymore!? What the actual f$ck?
chitownguy replied to BuffaloKyle's topic in The Lounge
It might have been declined because it was flagged by Mastercard as a possible fraudulent charge because it's a foreign charge. I had this happen awhile back when I renewed my membership with a new card. I had to call my bank to let them know I authorized the charge. I then resubmitted my renewal and it went thru. -
It looks like they fixed the issue. I logged in yesterday with the private browsing turn on. And there wasn't any notifications sent to the providers whose ads and private pics I looked.

Pineapple point in Fort Lauderdale - room selection
chitownguy replied to Strosj7's topic in The Americas
I frequently stay at Pineapple Point. It is one of my favorite gay resorts. I am not that much of an exhibitionist. But there are several rooms that I have stayed in that I think would meet your requirements. Rooms 11 and 12 in the middle of the resort. A lot of people walk past them to going to/from gym or the rooms in the back. Room 4 which has a private patio also has a lot of foot traffic in front of it. The rooms with the double doors by the lap pool do get some foot traffic from people going to the back hot tub. Although they can be noisy at night. That hot tub can get be very "active" late at night. Feel free to DM me if you want any more specific information. Enjoy your stay! -

Last July Medicare issued a draft proposal to pay for PreP both oral and injectable under Part B. They would cover it without any out of pocket cost along with the related HIV testing. They were suppose to issue the final rule last October but so far they haven't. If they do open a club in Chicago the dancers would not be able to go fully nude. The liquor laws do not allow nude dancing in clubs that serve alcohol.

I visited Vietnam about a month ago. On my visa application I put none for religion. I received my visa within a few days after applying. And I didn't have any issues with immigration when I arrived in Hanoi.

This reminds me of my high school swim classes where everyone had to swim naked.

I usually keep mine at 72 daytime and 68 at night. The windchill is -25 right now in Chicago. So I have turned it up to 74. I live in an old loft style building that's not well insulated.

Most credit cards use an average daily balance method to calculate the interest. The total balance on the card for each day in the billing period is divided by the number of days in the billing period. This is the average daily balance that the interest rate is applied to calculate interest charged that month.
-
Having zero balances on your credit cards or paying them in full each month will not hurt your credit score. It can actually increase your score. One of the factors used in computing your score is your credit card use percentage. Total debt on all your cards divided by the total credit limit on all cards. A high percentage will lower your score. Having no balance or paying them off lowers your use percentage.
