I developed a great off the clock relationship with a young provider. We very often meet for drinks or dinner and sometimes just meet and watch a movie. I pay for the expenses but we both seem to enjoy the time together. He actually gets a little insulted if I try to pay for the time.

You are right on Texas and this problem. I am in houston and there is no reason to ask for the vaccine unless you have been exposed and even then I understand it is tough to get a response. I am worried about my “friend” who gives massages on the side. From what I can tell Houston has been given about 5000 doses. Hope I can hold out.

These do sometimes offer good yields but make sure you understand the steps to exit and how long it may take to get your money back. My mom had one and it took a long time jumping through multiple hoops to get the cash. Best wishes.

Interesting in that if I read his profile correctly he does not indicate he is on prep. Seems like a guy that concerned would be on prep and require proof of same from clients. All that said, I think he looks awesome and wish him success.

This is a good discussion and steps in retirement will obviously depend on one’s personal finances. Since retiring I have focused on simplifying my life and targeting cost savings from what I termed “low hanging fruit”. To simplify, I sold my house and moved into a mid-rise. The cost savings were not that much, but I take great peace of mind in being able to lock and leave in a secure building. On cost savings I was surprised by how many items I had on auto pilot that could be reduced. I realized very nice savings by (1)re-bidding all property, casualty and liability insurance (2) getting rid of cable and satellite subscriptions at my primary and secondary residences and using much cheaper options (3) protesting my property tax valuations (4) got rid of several club memberships I was under utilizing and (5) consolidated broker accounts to reduce advisor fees. These were relatively painless to accomplish but I never took the time while I was still working. Best of luck to retirees!

I am sorry to hear this. I met him about 4 years ago in Houston for a morning appointment. I found him very affectionate and had a great experience. No performance or energy issues. I did not repeat due to the cost. I hope he is ok.

I have not done this but risk seems low unless the market experiences a “black swan event” with an associated melt down in stock prices i.e. like the initial reaction in 2020 to Covid. Good luck - I like having some rental property in the portfolio.

Interesting. Not my thing but would be curious to know if many female customers actually show up and what their expectations might be. Like @Alfstoria I have really scaled back going to baths as I have gotten older. I don’t think I now need to be rejected by male customers and snickered at by female customers!

I like @Jamie21 ‘s approach. I think if the cancellation is at the last minute, it is not unreasonable to be reimbursed for both sessions when rebooking.
