  1. For me, I've eventually come to terms with that for these younger generations, it really doesn't mean the insult it was for us in my and my parents days. Other things I've learned to accept and even fetishize are tattoos, which were taboo in my upbringing. I still struggle with things like piercings and draw the line at genital piercings. But I realize these are different times and these younger people have different values. Even word meanings have changed or don't carry the weight they once did. I still am offended by how younger gay men refer to themselves and the community as "Queer" and how some men get off on being called the F-slur "Fa@@ot"! But that is me. And though I'll never completely accept just whatever these younger generations make up or embrace, I am learning that things change even if I don't and can still keep my values and like what I like.
