1. From a decorative standpoint, maybe we should think about something more artsy? Maybe even musical?

    http://lh3.ggpht.com/_kIWY2DV0KnE/SgOwgY-qhxI/AAAAAAAADU4/1T3UTDlCKpY/Musical%20instrument%20urinals.jpg

In Hong Kong at the Felix restaurant at the top of the Peninsula Hotel, the Philippe Starck men's room has urinals that look like the main part without the tubes (like a big funnel). The wall behind the urinals is all glass so you get the sensation of pissing on the city of Hong Kong below!

  2. Question for @xafnndapp or others who have recently been to Italy or Europe:

Do they still have Squat Toilets as they did in some places years ago?!?! They consisted simply of porcelain footprints and a squat-and-aim hole. They were also known as Turkish style toilets.

I personally prefer the " throne approach"! ;)

These exist in China today. If their solders have as bad an aim as the men who use them, we have nothing to fear from their military; the floor around the hole is almost always wet with urine.

  3. I just started reading Gore Vidal's memoir Palimpsest, and I am fascinated by it. I hadn't read anything by him in years--Myra Breckinridge when it was published may have been the last novel--and I had forgot what a viciously witty writer he was.

A good read and his acidic personality comes out.

  4. Let me throw in another small yet important venue to visit... The Huntington Library and Gardens in San Marino. . Home to Blue Boy and Pinkie...

Love the Huntington. Lunch or tea in the Tea House is a delightful experience. For those of us who are "movie queens," they have the Sarah Siddens, The Tragic Muse painting which was the basis for the award figure in "All About Eve." An amazing house-museum and gardens. Highly recommended.

  5. I think if Mr Miniver had given his address as being in the local trailer park and just a single wide (not the mansion-sized double-wide), the results might have been different. Shopping at Good Will and the Salvation Army stores might be a relationship killer. Using Groupon for each meal would not add to the attraction.

  6. Uber fundraising drive values app higher than General Motors

Ride-hailing app is valued at $62bn making it the world’s most valuable private start-up and outstripping the US car giant’s $55bn worth

    http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/dec/04/uber-app-valued-62-billion-general-motors

The values attached to these new companies like Uber just amaze me; the number of newly rich multimillionaires that are "kids" is evidence of what I have talked about several times: when talking about the top 10% of the income scale, there is "churn" over time. Politicians talk like this group is a fixed, closed group. In fact, it seems to be changing faster than ever.

The picture is often painted of this greedy group of the top 10% getting most of the income gains in our economy. As Uber shows, often these people are wearing sneakers and jeans and eating pizza in an open office and changing everything about our society. These people are at the same time creating jobs and destroying jobs.

Like it or not, the Uber founders and those like them are a large new part of our top 10% of the income pyramid.

In reading these high valuations for new companies like Uber, it seems that every few days coins a new group of millionaire youngsters. That digital apps are more valuable than an established company with real assets and thousands of employees like General Motors is a hard concept to grasp.

I will be 70 next month and looking back at how much has changed is enough to give me the vapors. 15 years ago, I could not have imagined an I-phone yet alone the apps that followed.

For the record, I have not yet used Uber but will on my next travel trip to a big city. All my friends use it and have great experiences to relate. Like many my age, I can relate both good and bad taxi experiences; but the bad ones are far higher than one should accept; now that there is an alternative I plan on using it. Great to have consumer choice.

  7. I prefer non-fiction or very well-written historical fiction (Michener style)....typical fiction can sometimes be a bit contrived, but not always.....

Carl Hiaasen is always fun to read....and "Devil In The White City" is my current read - it may be made into a movie soon if DiCaprio and others come to an agreement, I hear

Finished "Devil in the White City" a few months ago and loved it. Great book and would make a good movie. I can definitely see DiCaprio in the lead role.

  8. Go to Rentmen for Palm springs, Ca. There are several "older Men" advertising, one claims 57 as his age.

I have hired Billy Madison and would recommend him. He lists his age as 41 but it would seem to be an understatement from my meeting; never-the-less, I would hire him again and found him to be a good escort. I had a nice time. He could use some updated pictures. Still has a nice body.

  9. I hired him last month and had a good time. Would recommend him. I did not write a review as he said he was leaving Southern California.

We did an overnight so I got to know him more than just fro man hourly. Great personality, smart and of course, good sex.

As for the pictures, some of them are fairly current and he looks like those pictures today. The third, fourth and fifth pictures give an idea of what he looks like today.

  10. We did an overnight. Derek is a good escort and I had a nice time with him. The pictures are very accurate and he is honest to a fault. For gentlemen of a certain age, he is a good BFE escort. His services are very good in the sex department. Surprised no reviews and I plan on doing one.

  11. Even though no one seems to know how he is as an escort, I am going to try to hire him. He has a Manhunt interview that paints him as a really nice guy. Thanks for the information on his porn name.

  12. Thank you all for the suggestions in this thread and the private messages. I will make some inquiries as to exactly what my friend would like. He is a nice guy but very unexperienced as he was married with children when he was diagnosed with the Parkin's and decided to spend his remaining years as an "out' man. He will be coming to visit me the middle of August and I want to make the trip memorable for him as I do not know how much longer he will be able to travel. I appreciate all the replies.

  13. I will be bring a friend to visit me for a week this Summer to Orange County (Laguna Beach). He is 67 years old and has Parkinson's. He is bright and has a sparkling personality but is limited in mobility and walks with a cane. I would like to provide him with some "companionship" during his visit. There are some escorts who just focus on their clients needs regardless of the client's physical abilities--that is what I need. Any suggestions?
