You're probably right. I do feel cared for and sexy when I'm with him. I may take your advice and move on because I feel like the feelings are getting stronger (on my end) and it's probably all business for him. He's super nice and I'm not a victim so I need to learn to understand when it's happening. Thanks so much for this Bluefin!

I used him a few times before the pandemic. Super nice guy and had good skills. He provided MT and HE. Would totally use him again.

Sorry, when I said "more" I meant "regular" or "full rate", and "discounted" rate for students or clients in their 20s as they have less purchasing power.

When I see "ask me" I think it means "tell me"...So I offer my going rate...My time is also worth money. I also will pay by the "inch" length and breadth...I met a unique man in Paris who told me to pay what I thought he was worth. I had such a memorable time I paid him to come by every day for one week....I can't wait to go back after covid time..

A lot of people are turned off by discussing or negotiating money terms. The vast majority of business employees are too intimidated to ask for a raise, even when they deserve an increase. For providers who use "ask" in their ads, they risk closing the door on opportunities. OTOH, for those customers who don't mind negotiation, "ask" usually opens the door to better communication. IME, providers don't like surprises. They respond better when they know what the customer really wants. If you're willing to engage in an "ask" discussion, you might be surprised by the outcome. I have often found the discussion ended in my favor.

That's true. What if his rate is lower than you think?

I know providers who will tailor the price to the situation, charging more to older men, or for 90 min sessions, or for "full service". And less to younger clients or clients who ask upfront for a rate reduced by 10-to-20 bucks if they only want therapeutic or sensual, non-erotic. A proposal that some providers might take if they're not having a particularly busy week or season.

If you have an interest in a provider, aren't you already bound to send a message to ask about details or if he's available?
In summary, if he says "ASK", and you like his pictures and reviews, stop being a negative Nelly and ask.

Some providers seem to be working on a "flexible, dynamic pricing method" where they charge what they think they can make depending on time of the month, business volume, mood, weather, horoscope, or whatever else strikes their mood. This is not wrong, per se- but does require a potential client to come to the table ready to ask questions, negotiate pricing if needed, and confirm what's being delivered. This is where many of the providers fall down, they refuse to engage in those chats, and for clients not used to having these chats they generally just cough up whatever the guy is asking for on that day. However as many have pointed out, it's a turn-off for a lot of potential clients.

Maybe it is only here (or limited to) Atlanta, But i'm seeing a HUGE amount of "ask".

Atl is know for having crappy masseurs. Maybe that is what they put ask. I dunno

But I'm seeing too many recently. Me personally, probably will skip past them. What are they hiding?

Good point!! I like to put as much info about the massage and service as I can in the Rentmasseur bio. I’ve got a website for my sensual massage service so I have the link to that on my bio. Clients who are interested can then look on my website where there’s all the rates and a lot more info for them.

Despite the legal reasoning (which makes sense), I agree with most of those who are turned off by "Ask me." I never pursue them, no matter how good they look or sound. One would think that the masseurs read these comments, and would stop doing that.

Escorts may also offer a massage service for a discounted rate that they do not wish their escort clients to see.

Not just that but what about the spurned client going on some review website and letting others know he was nasty in his comms. Yikes!

How crazy is that!? He could've politely declined without being so nasty. Doesn't he realize that he could've just lost a potential returning client?

For me, listing "ask" is a sign of unprofessionalism and I just move on to the next ad. I'm only comfortable with a rate structure based on location (in or out) or length of session. If the rate is based on how dressed the provider is or whether I should expect a hand job at the end of the session I'd rather hire an escort.

Years ago I called a masseur off an ad on massagem4m (back when there was a massagem4m.com and people weren't yet afraid to have actual phone conversations). One of the photos on his site was him in a weathered cowboy hat. I jokingly said he looked cute in the hat and did he wear it while giving the massage. He told me that would be a fetish session and $50 extra. I didn't schedule a massage with him.

There’s usually some back and forth about time, price, and the type of massage requested regardless if a price is posted no? Not sure what the big deal is.

I wouldn’t feel comfortable going into a situation where the only mention of price was in their ad. For me it’s much better to have an explicit agreement on time/price beforehand.

I don't like the "Ask Me" listings either. But if they have any reviews, you can scroll down through them, and click the button that says "Read All Reviews". All the reviews show what the clients paid. What was payed by different clients is all over the place - not sure if this reflects tips included.

Some guys want to protect themselves from legal liability. Each state is different. In New York State, it is illegal to provide "massage" service without a license. It is illegal to charge money for a "massage" service if you are not licensed. It is illegal to perform "massage" service in a location where it may be against the law. If caught violating any of these laws, you can end up in jail. Even if you are licensed, it may be illegal to perform the service in your home. You'd have to know the local zoning laws to be sure. Each building may have their own rules regarding work from home. If a legal case is brought against you, any ad that shows you asked for money in exchange for a "massage" service could be evidence against you. The legal onus for massage service is on the provider, not the customer. If someone has "Ask" in his ad, I would consider that person a bit more cautious. IMO, "Ask" may not mean scam at all. In fact, it could mean the opposite. Self-protection, which in turn can protect you.

I found this at a law site:
Because you need a license to give massages, merely an offer to give a massage or holding yourself out as an individual who can give massages is punishable as an "E" felony if you do not have a license to do so. While this offense is not considered Prostitution and a violation of New York Penal Law Article 230, the ramifications may be worse. The reality is that law enforcement, such as the NYPD, often pursues this charge as means to prosecute those people they believe are involved in Prostitution, but are unable to charge them with the crime of Prostitution or any of the other related offenses.

That's probably true but I usually come here and see if anyone has visited the provider. If enough here have had positive interaction then I'll ask

I totally agree with you. I've posted prevously that in my opinion, when I see 'ask', it will ultimately result in a menu of choices. By not listed a price, it sets off a negotiation with the expectation that the client will be enticed to go for the full package. I could understand that thought process to be more in line with an escort experience but not so much for a massage.

Does anyone know why some Masseurs will post "ASK" when it comes to pricing? I'm sorry if this has been discussed before but I'm so curious as to why they don't list their service price. Truthfully, when I see it attached on a masseur's profile, I move on. I totally understand if they want to "up" their price for extra service or time, but I think they should at least give a base price to start off with.
