CLEAR is great and a deal if you provide them with a DL Skymiles number. $99 a year, methinks. Cheaper if you're an elite- or free, depending on how high your status.

If you're near an airport (or arena) that uses CLEAR, they're convenient and easy. I've kept a legacy membership since the beginning and it's served me well, especially with PreCheck lines becoming increasingly more long.

To those who said the Amex Plat comes with Global Entry and/or PreCheck: Sorta, but not exactly. It's a statement reimbursement and only if you qualify for the program. Many people end up getting turned down by GE after the interview (and background check).

I fly 20+ times per year with a quarter of that international. I just renewed my Global Entry on line a few weeks ago. It was much easier than the first time around and no interview was required. The approval came in less than a week. The AmEx statement credit was posted very quickly as well.

I’ve also got Clear and it’s a real time saver for me. I fly out of DCA and IAD which have a lot of airline premium passengers and TSA Pre members. The lines at peak times can be long even in TSA Pre.

It’s a great feeling to walk up to the Clear kiosk, receive a smile and “welcome to Clear” from their team members. The staff is very friendly and provide assistance with the scanner if needed. Then they take you to the TSA Pre station and say “ he’s Clear” to the agent. You get waived on through very quickly.

It’s funny to see the looks on some faces when I’ve cut the line and get waived in as well.

I have sailed thru pre-check at American/ORD for months now. I see no need to spend more on Clear.

I recently was given an offer to try Clear for three months for free, and I also have TSA/Global Entry. I think I will still pick up the option to pay extra for Clear when the free trial period ends, as you got straight to the front of the security line. I have found that so many people have tsa pre-check now as to make it almost pointless, on occasion I have found the line to be almost the same as without, and in one case even longer. My main reason is that the airports I tend to fly from are usually the really busy ones, NYC/Chicago and for me it's worth it

I had Park once. Good experience - would repeat. Adam is my favorite, though.

He's itinerant. I think he's spent time in Chicago recently. I saw him in San Diego and hired him for massage from RentMasseur, as I recall. Very good massage, and he typically showers with the client to begin or end the massage. Pics slightly outdated but not drastically. Friendly guy. I would repeat if he was in my area or somewhere I was traveling.

WTF?? You sound like my father who spent a good portion of his life worrying his son is gay. For some of us, the mystery, the not-knowing, the unraveling (draping included), the teasing the masseur and discovery is the thrill and excitement we seek in going to known-to-be strictly legit masseurs or spas. It is in no way “frustrating or stressful.” The “ambiguity” is the essential part of the experience sought. And, when I seek this scene, a solid legit massage without an HE is not flushed money. This obviously doesn’t float your boat. Different strokes for different folks. But manliness is not in question.

Spursy reacted to LOLO in Depression... Any suggestions?
I'm really sorry you're going through this. I'm not a health professional and can't offer recommendations per se, but can relay my experience with mental health struggles in the hope that it may spark something for you.

I was in a similar situation a few years ago in my mid-20s, and did a few things to pull myself out of the hole. Some of this may sound cliched, and I apologize if that's the case.

    - started therapy and anti-depressants (as you are doing); it took me a while to find the combination that worked for me and didn't give me bad side effects
    - physical fitness: I was out of shape and slovenly. Started making a point of going on walks for 10 minutes a day, which morphed into runs, which morphed into joining a group fitness class, where I met people and got in shape and gave myself a pretty good self-esteem boost (this process took about 2 years)
    - started volunteering. I found the act of helping people less fortunate than myself to be powerful; it also helped me meet people
    - started doing that thing where you write down 5 things you're grateful for every night (corny, I know)
    - started being open about my mental health struggles in my real life, and it was surprising how many people were in the same boat, which helped me feel less alone

I don't know much about ketamine, but hear that it works pretty well. There's also apparently this thing called transcranial magnetic stimulation (not sure what that does) that was recently approved for depression (one of my best friends is a psychiatrist).

Finally, I hope you derive some small measure of comfort and happiness and community in knowing that there's a stranger out on the internet who's genuinely rooting for you. Take care.

Just had a massage with Alvin today, it was actually my first time at a men’s spa, so I was surprised at how good the massage was, since it seems from what I’ve read here those can be lacking sometimes. Alvin is a handsome muscular Chinese dude with big hands which provided great pressure! I was with my hubby so I asked for a therapeutic massage only but...will definitely be back!
