Although you mentioned erotic massage, you might have better luck with this topic in the Deli.
It sounds like you're largely looking for an enjoyable bottoming experience. I would recommend finding an escort who tops and also has some massage skills (e.g., via rentmen). If you're using the massage mostly as foreplay, the provider doesn't necessarily need to have really strong skills. Now if you want a solid massage that leads into sex, you might want to find someone who both advertises as a masseur and an escort. You'll want to be upfront with what you're looking for to make sure you and the provider are a good match. Not everyone is skilled at balancing being dominant while also caring for their sex partner.
It's okay to be nervous. I think a lot of guys feel some anxiety during their first time. Good luck!

My mother was 20 when this happened, and living in Connecticut. She taught all her kids to look for the exit whenever we went in any public building and know our escape route, referring to her memory of the Cocoanut Grovel fire.
And I still do it!

WilliamM - you are a very fortunate man! I don’t know if I found “Rose’s Turn” or the end of Act I in “Sunday” to be more breathtaking (both in Regional Productions), but can’t imagine seeing Merman, Patinkin, and Peters do them!

Okay, I may be in the minority here, but massage therapy is a legitimate occupation, so why would I embarrass myself or my provider by saying hello to him? From reading this forum, I realize that some providers are closer to sex workers than therapists, but I feel like ignoring the more “legitimate” ones would be equivalent to shaming them for their line of work. What am I missing?

Such a broad set of criteria your question covers. LA is a big market. And Favorite is and even bigger word…
Go to RentMasseur.com and search there first, then come back once you’ve narrowed to 3-4 profiles to do a 411 here to eliminate flakes/fakes, maybe get confirmation on a couple of them.

About every six-nine months I need to have some Popeye’s chicken - spicy. I love it while I’m eating it and hate myself the next several days. 6-9 months later, I’ve forgotten all the bad stuff and crave it all over again.
Oh, and I love the Arby’s Jamoca shake. I have no pride….

EastbayMike -FWIW, I’m actually okay with it. It reads to me like an opportunity for him to under-promise and over-deliver. If I were in your area, I would be inclined to hire him for that reason alone. If he’s having a bad day, or we don’t click, the jock stays on; no harm, no foul.
Just my two cents.
