  1. So I've had a few escorts text or email me through RM to thank me for getting together. REALLY puts them high up in my book. I know they are busy, but such a nice touch. Also, I've written review on RM for a couple of guys (positive ones) and never got a thanks or acknowledgement of it. I'll admit that kind of lowers the experience in my mind. ...
When I've had a great time with an escort, it is something of a letdown not to receive any post-meeting communication, however short -- which is rarely the case with older, more experienced escorts.

Here's something that bothers me more (and comes close to being a deal-breaker for a repeat): I had a wonderful session out of town; afterwards we discussed his plans to travel to my city in the fall. I followed up with a 2-line text about getting in touch before he visited. No response! (And this from someone who had been an excellent communicator before we met.)

  2. They got notified about a new review on RM, the Mgt. doesn't email escorts about new reviews on here.

I thought daddy always sent a copy of a review to the escort before posting to provide an opportunity for a response. Or does he now do that only for negative reviews? I wrote "now" because around 2006 I wrote a glowing review whose subject emailed his thanks to me before the review ever got posted -- he confirmed that he had been sent a copy ahead of time.

  3. ... I'm all for DL being MIA! He sucks the attention from the entire club with all the dancers hovering around him.
I have mixed feelings about that. He's been a fixture on the scene for so many years that I kind of miss seeing him at least once a summer. Also -- the dancers who are not part of his favored group feel very neglected when he's around and enjoy hanging out and complaining about him, not to mention being open to negotiation about dances. :)
  4. I suspect a large part of Johnson's success is the close attention Matt paid to the details. I worry that spending half (or more) of his time opening a new club in Dallas will be to the detriment of the Wilton Drive club. I've seen this happen with restaurants -- a chef with a successful place in city A branches out to city B and both places suffer as a result.

  5. I guess this is the straight version of Masseurfinder. The site has both male and female massage therapists ads in it. ...
I know from (an unexpected) personal experience that not all of the masseurs on that site are straight nor are they all strictly therapeutic. This was a "YMMV" situation. I can't share any details.
  6. In another thread in this forum,

Yeah the internet is doing to clubs what Amazon is doing to retail...For us customers, clubs will always be better than going online, but for the guys working, seems the cream of the crop use technology, leaving the B-team forced to work the clubs...

Sounds like the internet has been the cause of a downturn in all of the scenes... Fort Lauderdale, Montreal... I still have loads of fun in Montreal, but that might be because it's a once a year thing....

It would be interesting to delve into this more deeply. My experiences -- by now, pretty extensive -- have been in Montreal and Fort Lauderdale, and I certainly agree that there has been a downturn in both since I started visiting 15 years ago. But it's hard for me to disentangle the many potential factors in that downturn. For example: novelty wears off. I was like a kid in a candy store at the beginning; that can't last. For me, high tide in Montreal was approximately 2003-2007. Is 2007 when grindr et. al. began being a big factor in hook-up culture? Don't know.

There are also differences between those two cities (and, who knows, between their internet cultures). Fort Lauderdale always had more volatility for me -- rarely had 2 consecutive terrific days (nights? :)) there, even at its best. Like Jake, I still have a great time in Montreal -- but the range of choices is smaller than it used to be.

    Comments?

  7. Totally agree with @latbear4blk , there isn’t necessarily anything wrong with you, don’t beat yourself up, it could be anything on the escort’s side....
This may not be relevant to your situation, but it illustrates the kinds of things that can happen.

A few years ago, someone I had been seeing regularly in Montreal abruptly flaked on me. To set the scene: we met early in the week and had something set up a few days later. That morning we exchanged texts setting a time; he also sent me some family pictures. He never showed up and never responded to my texts from then on.

Fast forward a year or so. I mention my experience to another escort who knows him quite well. His response: most likely my guy had been arrested that day and has been too embarrassed to stay in touch. (I knew that my guy was a "bad boy" -- not in any way that impacted on our encounters --but that had never occurred to me.)

  8. So I've just resumed watching House of Cards, starting from Season 2 (I watched the first season a few years ago while renting an airbnb) and immediately fell in lust with Edward Meechum. Something about his face....

Near the end of the second season, there's an amazing 2 minutes or so where Frank comes home to find Edward and Claire a little drunk. The ensuing

is compellingly erotic. What top-quality acting can do, I guess.

Tossup whether this belongs here or in the Deli....

  9. Mint isn't the same as Quicken. Mint was a competitor in its early years, but after Intuit bought it, it's now essentially a Quicken Lite.

Personal Capital isn't even close to Mint in sophistication and features, but it's promising. I hope it develops into at least a match for Mint in 2018. I use both Mint and Personal Capital. Mint is more flexible than Personal Capital but not as robust as Quicken.

I think the closest to a Quicken competitor out there is maybe Moneydance or Moneyspire, but I haven't used either so I can't speak to them based on personal experience. Moneyspire even promises to never create a subscription service "like some companies."

    Some reviews:

Thanks very much! Now that I know I have some time :) (see post above), I can try these out at my leisure.

  10. I recently decided it was time to upgrade to a current version of Quicken (from Quicken Deluxe 2010) and discovered that they switched to a subscription model. What!? No way! So I too am thinking about a replacement. I haven't noticed any flakiness in the Quicken software but have no desire to switch to subscription pricing. At this point, I'm thinking either Mint or Personal Capital might be the way to go.

That's encouraging -- I'm using Deluxe 2016, so maybe I have 5 more years before I need to switch -- a lot can happen in 5 years. If you do try something else that you like, please let me know.

  11. ...The only other possibility is that member(s) don't allow PMs...
That happened to me once. My workaround was to email a good friend (whom I met through PM's here, by the way) who I thought knew the member I wanted to contact. He asked permission to pass on the member's email address, which was then sent to me.
  12. This...plus many (rude?) one liner PM questions “will X let you seed him”, “where did you cum when you f’d X”, etc.

...I've gotten several really crude questions over the last 6 months or so. I don't consider myself a prude, but I also don't do crude. If it's someone that I have commented on in the forum, it is someone that I like. If you approach me like he's a piece of meat or some kind of cum receptical, it's unlikely that you're going to hear back.
Oh.... I have (so far) never received a query like those. I have occasionally received a PM that I've ignored (usually from someone who seems to be trying to pick a fight about something I posted publicly).

My question, though, was about whether PM's you send have recently started getting ignored when they hadn't been in the past.

  13. I have long used PM's to get additional information about guys mentioned here. Over the years, I have been directed to some real gems and avoided some bad situations -- and, I hope, have provided the same service to others. Only very rarely have I not received a response to a private query (less than once a year).

In the 10 days since nsguy45 started the thread on the dangers of PM's, 2 PM's I sent have have languished unanswered. I can't help wondering if this is coincidence or a direct effect of nsguy45's warning. Has anyone else experienced this?

  14. Highly agree. These above mentioned "tricks" to touch someone's private parts or kiss ... please! Clark county has NO ENTRAPMENT laws! Don't believe me look it up.... LE can do whatever sexual they wish if they want to make an arrest. ...
Peter -- do you have personal or second-hand knowledge of cases in which male LE engaged in sexual acts with male escorts (for entrapment purposes)? We've discussed from time to time on this forum the fact that the "younger" generation is not (so) hung-up about gay/straight labels, and I'm wondering whether those attitudes extend to younger cops and make them willing to do things that their older colleagues would have avoided.
  15. One experienced escort I knew made it a point to start his sessions -- the very first thing -- with a very deep French kiss. Usually in the elevator on the way up to the room. He claimed that law enforcement would resist. I don't recall how he handled the phone/email/text negotiations beforehand, but I'm sure that he was careful not to say anything that implied the exchange of sex for money.

  16. Chase now has ATMs that give you a choice of 20s or 100s and maybe some other denominations. I still always get 20s and that's what I pay escorts with. I assume it's a lot more convenient for them to not have to try and pay for things with 100s. I know whenever I end up with 100s I usually deposit them into my account so I can withdraw 20s later. (Or get change from a teller). I should probably ask my regulars if they have any interest in 100s.

I really wish Chase would offer 50s as an option -- either with, or in place of, 100s.
