  1. I hired a massage therapist that admitted some personal challenges that were slightly worrisome to me, the kind of pitiful stuff one wouldn't spread around. Would have been much better if he didn't speak, yet he never stopped. The worst part of all was how he combined drumming, poking and slapping my back in time to the music and would punctuate it with hand claps to the beat at certain points. I almost hoped his music stream would play "shave and a haircut" just to hear whether he'd answer with the inevitable "clap clap" . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp_07psbkJs:99
  2. He came up in the Indian category. India is a big country with a lot of shades.
  3. Where was Toby taking that saloon gal as he strolled her off camera at the end.?
  4. For anyone that saw the movie, here is a YouTube video with an additional story. If you haven't seen the movie, then wait to see this video after you've watched Three Identical Strangers. . . . . . .
  5. Drove through Ottumwa last year on the way to the American Gothic house in Eldon, 16 miles beyond. Eldon is also where the unfinished estate formerly owned by Rosanne and Tom Arnold is located. No shootings occurred that day in Ottumwa or Eldon.http://www.towingsilver.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Speed-checked-by-Radar.jpg
  6. The yellow trunks is definitely an Olympic gymnast. I won't share his name here but with enough searching I expect the other two pictures can be identified belonging to real gymnasts.
  7. Started at 5PM, live. The LA station didn't preempt any of it. We also got a red carpet show on E! I agree about the movie choices. Not much to root for. The reviews for the two winning films were not entirely friendly. I still need to see Roma and If Beale Street Could Talk.
  8. One of those pictures is an Olympic gymnast's image found on the internet. The other two gymnast images are likely borrowed as well, but I have no proof of it. I just doubt either of the two jockboyz were Olympians.

    Un Frere

Loved it. Good movie, plus I like French films.
  10. My LA station played it live and is repeating it now. I had the same thought, why Star is Born was in the drama category, while a couple of dramas were in the comedy/musical category. Best part for me was when Christian Bale got bleeped. I was also surprised that Bohemian Rhapsody and Green Book won because of the mixed reviews. I like Rami Malek quite a bit so perhaps he pulled the movie up.
  11. In the past I'd wondered if any posts had ventured into books. So I see at least one did. Ran across this old thread today. I just finished A Boy's Own Story by Edmund White. EW had interviewed James Franco last year in Out magazine, so I became familiar, and put his book in my queue. Written in the 80s, setting in the 50s, it's an interesting look at days gone by for a boy growing up gay. I expect it would strike a chord with many gay men and others too. I've started his follow-on book, The Beautiful Room is Empty. a continuation. I also recently read James Baldwin's Giovanni's Room. Just got a copy of his The Fire Next Time. If Beale Street Could Talk in also in my queue.
