  2. I've reached the same conclusion, that the answer will not be all that simple. Would it make sense to retire to a place one is familiar with: where they grew up; where they worked or served in the military; where they spend vacations? In Lee Eisenberg's retirement book The Number , he includes options retired people choose for settling down or not, during their last phase. My oldest brother read it and handed it to me. He's retired now and they travel around with a new, luxury travel trailer that he pulls with a brand new Ford pickup. They go all over the place, even up to Alaska. Me, that is the last thing I would do. I was at dinner recently in downtown LA and observed a young lesbian couple holding hands. How many places are like this? In that regard, I question whether I will ever leave here. I've thought about someplace with better air. For now, my house is near the beach so the air is better than many other areas. Still, when I get off the plane and leave the terminal in San Francisco I immediately realize the difference in air quality. But housing costs up there are worse than here in southern Cal. San Diego has nice weather but the crowds and traffic there have gotten so much worse over the last 25 years, to me it isn't a lot different than LA in some regards. But if I leave LA, San Diego could be one possibility. It's about as close to Palm Springs as I am now. I have former colleagues that retired to St. George, Utah. It sounds nice, but for me, retiring to Utah seems on a par with retiring to other super red states, or bible belt style areas, e.g. Texas, Arkansas, Florida and Alabama. Many folks retire to those places I know, but probably not me. For that matter, the wide open skies of Nebraska or Wyoming are appealing, yet I expect the worldview of peeps that live there could affect finding a happy, gay retirement life.
  3. In south asia, do young male friends hold hands? (Jeopardy theme)
  4. The LA Times critic was in love with Darren Criss playing Hedwig, and usually they are really snitty with their reviews, so her review really validated the crowds that flocked to the Pantages to see him.
  5. The crowd will cheer when Medvedev gets his ass kicked. I love how Nadal takes his shirt off after the match, bends over for quite a while looking for stuff in his tennis bag and then goes through this toweling off ritual before slipping on a snug looking cotton jacket. Today it was a beautiful lavender color.
  6. It's an athletic role that probably challenges the diaphragm and vocal cords. He is a musical enough guy, but having Hollywood good looks really helps. Might be part of why he played the hunk on Glee. He was next to me exiting the elevator at the John Anson Ford Theatre, right after he'd done Hedwig. Still very svelte then. I was initially stunned by his beauty then quickly realized it was him. So pretty. He was with a nice looking friend as well.
  7. The chances he feels the same about you are slim. That's life. Being closeted can make life awkward for sure. Having sex with someone at work can be tricky. How do you know he plays hockey? Have you asked him about his hockey team? Is it something you're interested in attending? If not, what kind of groundwork are you doing to make things possible, because just telling a coworker out of the blue you have a crush on him will be uncomfortable for him. Telling a coworker you saw him on Grindr would be awkward, bordering on weird for him. I like your idea of expanding your circle of friends. You deserve a circle of friends so work on it. Maybe he needs more friends as well, more than just a life of hooking up with strangers on Grindr.
  8. Booked my accommodation, 7 nights this time. Discovered a newer radio station in PS last week, 107.3 Mod FM. If you like Rat Pack, Julie London, Dusty Springfield, Linda Ronstadt, Josh Groban, Perry Como sort of mix. Fun tunes in the desert.
  9. When I lived in Minnesota I had coworkers that cut their hair and shaved once a year. Woodsy kind of fellas that did the ice fishing, deer hunting and so on. So I'm not stuck on the 6 haircuts a year thing. To each his own. I mean it's no more weird than jacking off into paper towel, right? Anyway, you guys are a scream sometimes. http://www.willowandthatch.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Dan-and-bear-1.jpg
  10. Saw him at The Pantages in LA. DC was so pretty. Sat in the 4th row. I remember his legs looked yummy. That role is a workout. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tL_GiOQ5xB0:12 Not familiar with K.O. Found a pic.
  11. Yup. 'Tis true. It's the gay ones that might end up with a broken heart. For those particular straight guys that enjoy taking it, it's just the getting off they enjoy.
  12. That's right! I did catch it was Streisand in this first epi singing Come to the Supermarket. Good stuff.
