Sad to read this evening that Olympian Kurt Thomas as died after suffering a stroke. As a kid I remember watching his gymnastic performance on television in the Olympics, and how I had a crush on him although I had little idea what that was about, other than he seemed quite beautiful to me. Last month I listened to the Barton Gellman interview on Fresh Air, his involvement meeting Edward Snowden and reporting the Wikileaks. That was a fascinating piece, especially Gellman's traveling to Russia to interview Snowden, and how he was able to get back out without surrendering any of the interview content. I'm up to epi 4, The KGB Rock Club. Did any of you ever listen to This American Life, like the episode of the rancher in Texas with a pet Brahman Bull named Chance, and how he had it cloned? To me this podcast Wind of Change is of that quality of journalism. I'm loving it. I'm enjoying the intrigue.
