Exactly a year ago driving out to Palm Springs I wondered about a huge Billie Eilish billboard along the highway. Who? Eileen Ivers does a cool cover. To me she's like a futuristic Karen Carpenter, performing her brother's songs.

Eileen Ivers performed live this week, streamed on the CalTechLive Facebook page. You might be able to go the their page and view it. Here's a happy musical number from the LA County annal Xmas show.

I effing love this movie and this song. I guess that means I'm gay.

You are probably correct, @Charlie . Too many people adopt dogs that shouldn't, such as wanting a chihuahua when Paris Hilton had her chihuchua prop. A coworker picked one up, how her two daughters were going to just die if they couldn't have a chihuahua, they're so cute. But a silver lining might be how foster homes are needed for temporary housing, so this is a period where that need is served.

When I finally saw the 1980's version, it reconfirmed deciding David Lynch was not as high and mighty as I'd built him up to be in my head. I am looking forward to the remake, and even though every time I say it someone responds how they love Lynch's Dune, for me it set a very low bar, for example Lynch's horrible, murderous vision of queer influence on things. David Lynch’s Dune is What You Get When You Build a Science Fictional World With No Interest in Science Fiction

Not that it was cheery, but their style always lifted me. This one can't help lighten one up. Does me. ....and anything by B52's perks me up.

It's on Amazon Prime.

I always assumed Fleabag must be good from the Emmy's and so on, but never watched until last night. It's pretty unique. I laughed a lot. I'm into the 4th epi of S1. The American character seems without boundaries, and his son is apparently not playing with a full deck. Is that how some Brits think of us??? They take no prisoners in this one. All the characters have flaws and it gets a little bit wild, especially sexually. I really love it so far. Looking forward to Andrew Scott, season 2!!

Now I'm binge-watching old TV shows on YouTube. I watched an episode of Dick Cavett with Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett. Also watching original What's My Line episodes e.g. with Jack Lemmon, and old clips from Ed Sullivan, e.g. The Beatles and on and on. Here is Johnny Mathis singing Someone. Love this one. Worthy of your big screen. Such a sweet looking guy and wonderful voice.

Nine men arrested in Grindr sex sting in North Georgia
+ E.T.Bass replied to + Reg's topic in The Lounge
Just saying by definition a pediphlie would not be on Grindr. The term is off topic for this thread and I cringe how often it comes up in reference to us. Back on topic: What seems to have happened to this teacher appears to be a huge injustice to a sweet young man. I expect that county sheriff will regret it. -

The teacher has no drug charges against him, per the news article. From his social media he does not seem to have been out. He has a masters and by appearances a sweet guy and a smart guy. This sucks in a lot of ways, such as if this outed him to family. Mom seems religious. In his case, if entrapment, and that it was SSGT D. Johnson that targeted him for sex (sounds like one defendant's phone may show that) I hope he can get representation to collect damages. I get the sense he is the one reaching out, but worries about retaliation by the sheriff. Bigger picture, there is nothing wrong with connecting with a guy virtually and meeting for companionship. No shame in that. Sux that the cops have to fuck that up. But there are plenty of people that want to recriminalize gay sex. That said, I don't like the idea that they focused on Grindr and not Tindr as already mentioned above. -

For the legal minds on here, wouldn't it be best not to mention on Grindr a plan to bring drugs, especially meth? Not just in Georgia, but anywhere. Just food for thought. I don't do any drugs and don't meet guys on Grindr. -
There are plenty. They get busy in this movie.

Many, mostly at book signings. One in particular, a famous artist here in LA, originally from Iowa, a sweet, talented guy. We chatted about our hometowns in Iowa, and he wrote inside the cover of my copy, you can't take the ❤ out of Iowa boys. It's true. ?

Perhaps these guys in the locker room realize the only control preventing their naked image from existing forever in the cloud is covering up.

I remember when my boss went over to see Rage Against the Machine years ago at Coachella, how he talked about standing near a man with a pink mohawk and wearing a metallic silver bikini. I streamed the YouTube Coachella documentary this afternoon. If anyone is into music festival nostalgia, it is a pretty good history of the festival. It's an OK documentary considering how much ground they covered. Then I streamed Madonna's 2006 Coachella show, which was right before the Confessions tour. Not a great concert movie but a fun watch. and now re-watching the Madonna Confessions concert movie. I still remember when NBC aired this. Great show.

During a Katie Couric Instagram interview this week she mentioned three shows Ozark, Netflix Succession, HBO Unorthodox, on Netflix

What Are You Reading During Your Staying-at-Home?????
+ E.T.Bass replied to + Axiom2001's topic in Literature
If anyone is interested in Hermann Hesse, Narcissus and Goldman is set around the time of the black plague. I was just a wee lad when I read that one. Maybe now during the pandemic is a good time to return to this one, a search for the meaning of life. -
You could be the suit guy at 2:07, spanking the top of the desk with your hard pen. :p:p

What Is Your Criteria To Begin Receiving Massages Again?
+ E.T.Bass replied to Dmitri's topic in Spas & Masseurs
I have friends admitting the isolation is extremely difficult. I am no expert on depression, however when connecting with them on Zoom, that seemed to cheer them up. I felt a benefit as well. -
Just noticed End of the Century is available on Dekkoo and Amazon Prime.
