  1. Subtle… very subtle 🙂…. Vegans are exceptionally cute… but but not sure I can eat a whole one… 🤪🤣
  2. And, to add to what @Just966 posted; a single data point taken once a month in the Doctors office (situated at top of a hill, and her office is upstairs in an old Victorian) doesn't tell me anything. I've never smoked, alcohol has dropped to (almost) nothing since start of year, since retiring at the end of September I no longer drink coffee, my exercise has increased an order of magnitude, most days 15-17k steps, some days over 25k steps. Besides my better judgement some days I've managed vegan lunches 🙂 I remember my attitude changed when I read "Acceptable Risks" by Jonathan Kwitny (1992?); especially as I had many close friends who were dying, and at the time was an AIDs buddy. Being a second set of ears in meetings with doctors was critical, even more so if we came to the appointment with real questions, real data. I view this as an opportunity to have more data in my once a month 10 minute appointment. I guess what I'm trying to say is: at this point I'd rather have too much information than a single data point in stressful surroundings. And, in the past week I've learnt a lot : my pressure is consistently much lower at certain times of the day as well as overnight... watching porn had virtually no impact... and vegan lunches didn't harm me 😁
  3. I've actually purchased two - one for myself, one for my husband. Purchased both from the Hilo UK site (as we live in London). Both arrived a few days after purchase. As @b2bf mentioned, they also provide a standard cuff (for synchronisation), thus we left both bands and cuffs powered in overnight - and the next morning downloaded the app which provided really good step-by-step prompts to get everything sync'd, get initial measurements, and start using the device -- all in about 20 minutes. As @b2bf mentioned, the app suggests using the cuff once a month, but I was also planning to do it more frequently and will probably follow his suggestion of weekly.
  4. A minor issue earlier this year resulted in discovering I have quite high blood pressure... I've taken obvious steps to fix this (ramipril, more exercise, much more walking) and have just retired (after almost 50 years working). After a lot of googling was surprised there are very few continuous monitor solutions (I would have thought apple watch would do this) - but spotted one option which appealed. I took the plunge last week and bought a Hilo: it looks like a watch band, but takes blood pressure readings every 30-40 minutes, sending diagnostics to an app on my iphone... and the past week I've become quite obsessed with the readings. Anyone else bought one of these (or anything similar) - and have opinions, and also suggestions of what's worked for you to reduce blood pressure ? if interested... 5. two recommendations (both British) CJ Sansom - Shardlake series - historical mystery series set during the reign of Henry 8th. Sometimes difficult to figure out the order of the books, but I think it starts with Dissolution. Patrick O'Brian - Master and Commander series - set in the 1800s following lives and career of a captain in the royal Navy and his friend (Physician, novelist, spy). Supposedly the majority of the framework of each book comes directly from hand-written accounts contemporary with the time, thus when and where ships met, political intrigue, placement of ships during battle are (claimed to be) technically accurate.
  6. Queen Mary is claimed to have said: “During public engagements one should sit down whenever possible and avail oneself of toilet facilities whenever the opportunity arises.”

One of the variations is in London. TFL (Transport for London) will issue travel card providing free transport (trains, bus, etc) in London once you're 60. It provides free transport from 9am-midnight weekdays, and all day Saturday/Sunday. Saves me roughly £3,000 pounds (roughly $3,800 USD) yearly. Fairly certain I can find some way to spend those savings...
  8. Dark hair, bare arms, and google translate helps with the accents
  9. As does mine... but he frequently follows it with a muttered “I would have gotten less for murder...” 🤪
  10. Concur, and given how active you are was going to also guess at mid-90s
  11. Into my second week on the family farm in rural Virginia taking care of mom (91) while my sisters away... massive culture shock coming from London (home) or New York (childhood home)... but hitting the local gym each morning surrounded by farm boys is an unbelievable treat, second only to all the eye candy in local supermarkets and restaurants... why didn’t anyone tell me about this before??? If it wasn’t for the heat and humidity, which one can carve into interesting shapes with a chainsaw, this place might be liveable...
  12. You pose an interesting question... and after thinking about it for a while realised any response would be a wild guess... thus resorted to trusty fallback position of googling if any longevity calculators existed (they do), and then which were the most trusted... I have longevity through both mom and dad (and their parents) - thus will be trying this myself when I make it out of rural Virginia and back to civilisation this weekend, however try this site Living To 100 Life Expectancy Calculator WWW.LIVINGTO100.COM
  13. Might be easier to invert the question... ask about their favorite encounter... their favorite porn stars... about videos or scenes they most fantasize about... about random encounters they wish to repeat... about first time, the best time, the time they keep replaying in their mind, the time they most fantasize about, about the one that got away, about someone they never had an opportunity to have sex with but fantasize about all the time... it's almost a Miss Manners moment - just get them to talk about themselves... I'm a massive introvert, love nothing more than listening to others talk... and once, just once, an escort asked much of the above, and it was almost impossible to get me to shut up.... he was a regular for years as he somehow understood what made me tick...
  14. I'm thinking it might be best if we transition from theoretical to hands-on research...
  15. A bit of creative googling suggested there are 1.2 billion men between 18-37 alive today. if dick size > 8" only occurs in 1% of the population -- that's 12 million men with more than 8". Estimates of %gay vary wildly, but 1% of 1.2 billion would be 12 million, leading us to conclude 120 thousand dicks > 8" (or roughly 15-30 miles of dick)... if you believe 10% of the population is gay (or at least open to suggestion after 3 beers), that provides 1.2 million opportunities (or, conservatively 225 miles of dick). The math gets a bit harder at this point when trying to figure out what percentage escort, what percentage are top or bottom, and what the odds are to find said escort available on a given night outside major cities... I might need another whiskey.
  16. I grew up on Long Island, home was biking distance to Oyster Bay, summers near wading river... though I fondly remember the beaches, I think I'd prefer here...
  17. I love Bandelier - the pine trees smell like vanilla...
  18. Excellent news! for the past three years my mom (91) has been going to the gym daily, seeing a physio once or twice weekly; and the combination of both has kept her very mobile. She can't do long distances anymore, but she can do a normal supermarket cart hanging onto a cart if the riding unit isn't available. The physio has worked miracles - so much so that she has been able to move in with my sister for the summer (old farmhouse, two stories).. and we've also added a personal trainer to the mix. All jokes aside, I never realized how critically important it was to stay flexible as one ages...
  19. ditto... song and movie (Choose Me).... immediately transports me back to my 21-year-old self, Houston Texas, and an amazing Art Cinema in River Oaks... and my "Eve's" bar which was La Carafe in downtown Houston... if only time travel was possible....
  20. Both the song and the movie (Intouchables) both bring me to a happy place....
  21. Definitely platinum
  22. In spite of the numbers being incredibly low, my personal preference is to proceed with preventions and vaccines if available.... I was an AIDS buddy in late 80’s through mid 90’s; and was hugely affected by writings such as Jonathan Kwitney’s Acceptable Risks; we don’t know what viruses are coming next, nor what mutations might occur in mpox ... each advance in virology is countered by those pesky buggers mutating... and it’s possible that what’s learnt through current round of vaccinations could help those that follow us whether next year or in a few decades... considering what else I put in my body on a daily basis I personally think that getting the vaccine is a perfectly acceptable risk.... at very least might give me the confidence to get out there and play before the next COVID lock down...
