First off, Bali was fantastic. Great people, food, sites, and culture. Massages are overall very inexpensive - from $15-35 for 90 minutes and most were of good quality. The best spa that we visited was http://www.m2spabali.com in Seminyak. Excellent quality massages and nice clean space without the hounding for additional tip or extras. Probably the most expensive at around $35 for 90 min if I remember correctly. Still very cheap by Western standards.
 
A couple of the other places in Seminyak were not as nice such as http://www.eksklusifgroomingmen.com. Good massage but facility was cramped and hot. http://www.temanspa.com was a good massage until one hour into it, he asked if I would tip him 500,000 rupees for a HE. I said no thanks.
 
In Ubud, there are tons of massage places although none are gay as far as I could tell. Good massage at Nur salon with a handsy therapist but my partner got a completely therapeutic massage at the same time so I think it depends on the therapist.

It's about the blend of both. Edges, line, positions are always going to make a difference, and they're still part of the GOE for technical elements (you don't think Alina is doing Tano lutzes just because the arm is beautiful, do you?). That said, I don't think anyone is worried about technical ability being underrewarded anyway, especially in a system where Mirai falling on a triple axel (5.5) still gets more points than, say, Alina's perfect double axel (4.56)

Prefer Evgenia by far. Alina is technically perfect but the backloading of the program doesn't flow for me...Evgenia does the same but without the frantic, staccato choreography. Alina is definitely talented but I don't feel moved the same way. That said, Alina will probably win (Poor Mirai.)

In November of 2017 I visited Adams Apple - had an amazing 90 minutes massage - for 400 000 Rupiah - about $40 AUD and tipped the masseur the same amount for the additional services, very interactive. I wanted a good massage - and certainly got that as well as the magic moments.
 
I also visited Banana Spa -in their new location - yes you can go and sit in the cafe - have a swim - and a massage. had a great massage but not interactive at all, not sure if that was just the chemistry between us or not. 285 000 Rupiah .
 
Previous years I have visited Coco Grand Spa on numerous ocasions and have a good interactive time.
 
Antique has a good reputation but I have never attended.
 
At all of the above you do get to choose your therapist.
 
If you are on the apps - they will get very busy when you log in, fresh faces in town are always popular. Lots of MB or Money Boys - and if you got to the bars - they are full of money boys too.

I think you're being too harsh. Figure skating is an insanely expensive sport. Skaters not only have a "head coach," like Brian Orser for Hanyu & Fernandez, but also assistant coaches (Tracy Wilson), "specialization" coaches (Javi worked with a different coach specifically to work on his spins, plus with someone from the Ballet Nacional to work on posture & positions), and choreographers (David Wilson). Plus they have to pay a fortune for ice time, travel expenses, equipment, and costumes. Yes, the US Olympic Committee and the US Figure Skating Association do give skaters some money, but apparently it's not much, not nearly enough to cover all those staggering expenses. Yes, American figure skaters are looking to make money, because that's their financial reality.
 
I don't know in-depth the financial situation of skaters from other countries, but I'm willing to bet the Russian Olympic Committee and Skating Federation provide a lot more financial assistance to their skaters than we give to ours.

Those girls have better edges and extension than elite singles (ahem, Zagitova).
 
The girls also lift each other, which requires strength and control.
