Looking at reviews of spas in Bali on other sites and there seems to be an infinite number to choose from...any personal recommendations? It would be nice to get one with actual therapeutic skill in the beginning instead of just finger circles before a mechanical ending. I noticed Adam's Apple from other posts but didn't see too many specifics.

Heading there tomorrow so I hope you get some replies. Happy travels!

I travel to Bali often , and have been to many of the spa's, with some great experiences and some not so great. Lots of new places around at the moment. http://www.utopia-asia.com/balimasa.htm is a good reference.

In November of 2017 I visited Adams Apple - had an amazing 90 minutes massage - for 400 000 Rupiah - about $40 AUD and tipped the masseur the same amount for the additional services, very interactive. I wanted a good massage - and certainly got that as well as the magic moments.

I also visited Banana Spa -in their new location - yes you can go and sit in the cafe - have a swim - and a massage. had a great massage but not interactive at all, not sure if that was just the chemistry between us or not. 285 000 Rupiah .

Previous years I have visited Coco Grand Spa on numerous ocasions and have a good interactive time.

Antique has a good reputation but I have never attended.

At all of the above you do get to choose your therapist.

If you are on the apps - they will get very busy when you log in, fresh faces in town are always popular. Lots of MB or Money Boys - and if you got to the bars - they are full of money boys too.

So enjoy.

If anyone wants to PM me for direct questions happy to help out.

I have been travelling to Bali for 20 years, and sometimes that will be 3 trips a year - and the shortest trip I have made is 14 nights, mostly they are 28 nights.

First off, Bali was fantastic. Great people, food, sites, and culture. Massages are overall very inexpensive - from $15-35 for 90 minutes and most were of good quality. The best spa that we visited was http://www.m2spabali.com in Seminyak. Excellent quality massages and nice clean space without the hounding for additional tip or extras. Probably the most expensive at around $35 for 90 min if I remember correctly. Still very cheap by Western standards.

A couple of the other places in Seminyak were not as nice such as http://www.eksklusifgroomingmen.com. Good massage but facility was cramped and hot. http://www.temanspa.com was a good massage until one hour into it, he asked if I would tip him 500,000 rupees for a HE. I said no thanks.

In Ubud, there are tons of massage places although none are gay as far as I could tell. Good massage at Nur salon with a handsy therapist but my partner got a completely therapeutic massage at the same time so I think it depends on the therapist.

Check out https://www.travelgayasia.com/bali-male-massage-spas/ for lots of reviews and massage sites.

Have a great time and let me know if you have any more questions. OK for PM if you prefer.
