Let's hope Biz class redemptions get easier !! That would be the best silver lining to this pandemic for me. But Delta's getting ridiculous and even American is going Delta-ish and away from their 57.5K biz seats to Europe. Snag em while they're hot. I caught one 57.5K biz PHL to LHR but most cities are going 180K-ish like Delta. UA is still decent with some 66K biz seats to Europe. Also in the US there's a campaign against FF programs as it "hurts poor people". I keep hearing "don't worry about inflation", "not really a problem", "it was just the oil". But every time i go in the stores i'm seeing yet more items that were $1 a month ago but are $1.25 now. My Whole Foods deli carry-out lunches went from $9 to $12. Maybe that's alarm at the small stuff but it's like scary footsteps in the dark. IMHO companies are trying to partially make up what they lost in the pandemic by raising prices now.

Maybe because we were locked down for a year and maybe because many clients have saved a lot of money up, I'm amazed at how well friends of mine who "work" are doing right now. One friend , an Argentine in Fort Lauderdale, is doing well there in summer. Very unusual. And in Europe where borders are just now opening and lockdowns are just ending, my Bel Ami friends just made about $6000US each basically working 5 days in Munich. That's a lot of money for a Czech. With runaway inflation and so many new millionaires, I'm wondering even after the initial rush, if rates aren't going to get higher. I've found Frenchies, alone among dogs, to be almost cat-like in "leave me alone" attitudes. Many times they want to be left alone, other times they won't leave their owner alone. Most of my neighbors have them and i get attitudes from every one of them when i say hello, unlike other breeds. I don't know how that psychology was bred into a dog.

In fairness there are plenty of tricks where someone will send a provider to some random address on an "outcall" as a joke and 50% of clients who fall through on appointments just don't show without any warning. OTOH these guys are often making $1000/day now even with the headaches.

Was it through Venmo ? Were there alternatives? I think many clients would not want personal information given and yet some way to ask for it back if the provider cancels/no shows. I absolutely think it's a fine idea it's just how to avoid the scammers and frauds advertising.

I think the difference is that if you don't show for a dentist they will usually charge you at least a cancellation fee. And they have all your contact information. Right now providers are making money hand over fist so i don't have as much sympathy but they do lose money, not just inconvenience with no-shows. It's the fakes and the fake address out-calls that are the worst issues.

Whether it's DC or Harrisburg capital cities always seem to have a huge gay community and many easy clients. As a base, airfares are low because several low-cost carriers are there. And you're on the 5.

yup, he's one of those people who's lives i enjoy watching from a distance on social media. a couple months ago he decided to change his life totally and move to South Africa with a rich older lover who had a big house and fancy cars. Goodbye USA. Three days later he was asking if anyone knew a good lawyer in Capetown. Providers do have scheduling problems and there needs to be trustworthy deposits from strangers. But Ryan's a poor spokesperson for that cause.

Ryan Rose breezed through DC like a thunderstorm this week and created quiet the controversy with his demand for deposits and tirades on social media about people questioning them. I suspect this will be an up-and-coming issue with rates edging higher and more demand from clients with extra money from not hiring all year. Having to translate sometimes for friends in the game and being around them for months at a time I can completely understand the frustration of so many no-shows from strangers. Even if the provider doesn't have another client he refused, he could have been doing other things than waiting. And then there's the pranksters and the calls to fake addresses. OTOH there are so many scams and flakes in the industry "deposits" could be a great game. And who wants to give personal information ? Fortunately(?) I have my dance card full too often with houseguests.. Also from my one time meeting Ryan in a toilet stall at Boardwalk I wouldn't guess he's 100% reliable. It's actually a nice enough area and there's one or two decent hotels within a block. I've always thought of staying close. 7 or 8 years ago I think it had the hottest guys anywhere and a few porn stars. I like that it's not about drinking or crowds etc but just about having sex.
