It's more than that. If there are extra orders it might cause 2 days to go to 3 etc but to go to 2 weeks now to even get the item picked off the shelf in the fulfillment center means something is seriously bad in those warehouses. I noticed NewEgg has stretched from 1 day to 1 week now too to ship.

Flattening the curve made all the sense in the world but as you say, an intent was not to overwhelm resources for other healthcare too. But the number of hospitalizations is shrinking and yet other healthcare seems to be on lockdown. I'm in Kaiser and was told my MD is not working except from home by video and if something seems serious I should go to Urgent Care. Only video appointments and urgent care for all other health issues. A dermatology appointment I had scheduled for 3 months was changed to video. I assume I can still get lab work and xrays. I hope. Doctors closing their offices and refusing to visit hospitals is a serious healthcare shortage that's ignored right now because people aren't sure which narrative it fits.

Those were really cheap Ikea sheets a looong time ago.

I think there are a lot of non-profit companies right now. (maybe not 501's)

Don't tag me as a WalMart shopper but I noticed (along with a friend) that they have plenty of hand sanitizer for $1.97 for 8oz bottles. Bought 10 bottles and half-used one up immediately because I was in a WalMart. (yes, this is the same WalMart a lady pepper-sprayed someone last week for trying to share an elevator with her).

One of Bernie's proposals was to pay for home assistance and care to age in place. People who owned their home would not have to sell it and go to a facility for long term care. That way they would have the best care possible in their own homes. That method would have saved many lives in this pandemic too.

I haven't seen any meat disappearing yet but it sure seems it's coming. https://www.yahoo.com/huffpost/iowa-sheriff-tyson-plant-covid-19-041018480.html

A week ago my packages were arriving from Amazon in about a week. But now it's become 2 weeks for various things I ordered, shipped by Amazon. 4 different orders from April 25 are scheduled for May 7 and May 8 delivery and have not shipped (from Amazon) yet. I think the warehouses/fulfillment centers are in more turmoil than they say. And they still say delivery is 1 or 2 days from shipping. So the trucks are going ok.

As a top I had to wean myself off poppers (and coke) long ago. If someone's a top why poppers and if someone's a bottom why viagra? Pick a side and use your drugs accordingly.

Many of us get a lot of non-perishable groceries from Amazon. Has anyone else figured out what is happening to Amazon? Their "Two-day shipping" is history for practical purposes and my Amazon orders for everything are taking longer and longer. Are they collapsing too?

Here's the link to the article I citied above that convinced me almost 2 months ago that this was airborne and made me go buy masks quick. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8094933/How-one-man-spread-coronavirus-NINE-people-bus.html One of the few benefits of a surveillance state is that there are cameras and trackers everywhere for disease tracking and this man evidently was traced to spreading it to people far apart on the bus.

Is he traveling from homeless shelter to homeless shelter?

I really hope there is an immunity built and that it's triggered by a small enough exposure to the virus to not cause a serious case normally. Wow that would be nice.

Why not a nude Male Strip Club in LA?
+ tassojunior replied to Bayareabomber38's topic in Male Strip Clubs
Rumor is Atlanta strip clubs, including the new Johnson's, are opening first asap. If not Johnson's Dallas. I'd expect either Atlanta or Dallas by June 1 latest. -
I don't think that 1st article is about now in currently virus-free hospitals. It's more like the other cafe one you mention and like one I read in the South China Post in February about a passenger followed by cameras on a bus in Wuhan spreading the virus to others on a bus who were seated 20 feet from him, perhaps because of the rapid air circulation in the bus. That's what convinced me this was a potent airborne virus and I went on eBay and bought several masks asap.

Saw today where Hertz has notified it's car fleet financiers they won't be getting paid for a while and Hertz is considering bankruptcy.

ouch. the virus may stay airborne for 2 hours... https://news.yahoo.com/airborne-coronavirus-detected-wuhan-hospitals-121525370.html

same here and I live in a 50/50 neighborhood of smug young yuppies who won't wear masks and elderly people. (I suspect the hope is to open up rent-controlled apartments)

G damn. KTLA needs to pay their reporters more. That's one ugly old apartment.

We know so little about coronavirus. What is important to me is if there is an immunity after contracting coronavirus and also how much of a viral load is necessary to gain that immunity. I have heard that the virus can be more or less severe according to how much of the virus you take in, all infections are not the same. As contagious as the virus is and as long as it stays on surfaces and the aerosol stays in the air, I would think it fairly certain that most of us will be exposed to some viral load of it soon and my hope is some small infection can create immunity. That would be very good news and could justify gradual reopening and "herd immunity". (tho come hot weather this country's reopening de facto anyway and we'll soon find out.)

Just a few weeks ago we were told the death toll estimate had been downgraded by both major forecasters to be 60,000. https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/04/06/americas-most-influential-coronavirus-model-just-revised-its-estimates-downward-not-every-model-agrees/ We reached 60,000 deaths today. It's looking more like the original estimates of 100,000 to 200,000 deaths will prove true.

I think they should have mandated a waiver from franchise fees, both set and %, for a number of months as part of the relief package. The franchiser is being greatly benefited by the government helping to keep it's franchisees in business and the relief is not meant to benefit large national corporation franchisers. Marriott and McDonald's can weather the storm by just issuing more stock.
-
wow. Right after 23 dealing with franchises, 24 extends PPP to many company-owned locations too.... Answer: Under the CARES Act, any single business entity that is assigned a NAICS code beginning with 72 (including hotels and restaurants) and that employs not more than 500 employees per physical location is eligible to receive a PPP loan.
