  1. I’d imagine big cities are particularly tough right now, especially when it comes to exercising. Is Central Park open? How is crime with the schools closed?
  2. Fortunately I hate milk and bread, so I don’t care about those items. I do need my Organic Valley heavy whipping cream for my morning coffee, however, and there’s been plenty of that on the shelves. Small luxuries for these times.
  3. It’s their psychological need to feel in control of something. Not owning a TV has been a godsend for me. I’m not watching non-stop jabbering, press conferences and stock market chirons all day.
  4. I’ve been patronizing a local hipster grocery store for the same reasons. They carry great local meats and produce, cold pressed juices and all sorts of vitamins. It’s a very well curated selection. They also have toilet paper and all kinds of liquid and bar soaps. The people who shop and work there are great and not the Hoarders. The big box stores I avoid at all costs. I don’t want to witness the dark side of people.
  5. M May I order the two on the upper right?
  6. Ye yes, I recall that Atlanta has particularly bad pollen.
  7. My trainer will be working from his garage in the meantime. I can do my workouts at home. I just need to buy a 53 lb kettle bell.
  8. I was just thinking of phone sex with providers!
  9. It happens.
  10. I’m involved with a telemedicine company. We’re getting deluged. Working from home always.
  11. Please forget about massages. That’s a deferrable luxury.
  12. Should be interesting to see if a provider is willing to go to an airport and fly to meet a stranger for a weekend in the age of Covid. Sorry to be a downer commenter.
  13. I’m thinking that PS 2021 will be a particularly enjoyable and perhaps poignant event. I value our little online community and the solace that it affords in these challenging times. My family and friends I increasingly cherish. Love to you all!
  14. Keep doing them. Think how you’ll look in a year!
  15. I made a trip to Costco in December and loaded up on basics, way before the coronavirus hit. I don’t like shopping in big box stores, so I rarely go; but when I do I stock up. I was lucky this time. I’ve given some away to friends.
  16. I admire your sang froid in these panicky times.
  17. I wouldn’t want to be stuck in low social trust cities like Vegas and LA right now. Thinking of The Stand.
  18. I have a one way on Alaska for late May. I was thinking that by then, things would be fine. Now, I’m not so sure. the waits are interminable on the phone.
  19. If they can still install them, I’m considering getting a Toto washlet, thus forgoing the need for TP. Expensive, yes, but I’ve lost so much money that a few thousand isn’t going to make a difference. I’ve always wanted one anyway.
  20. Also, virtually all bars and restaurants have closed. Young folks were drinking and having late brunches as recently as Sunday. Rush hour traffic is no longer a thing. I’ll be doing a lot more hiking and cycling in the more rural areas, which are easily accessible. Not sure when the state parks will close. Went to Whole Foods on Sunday morning. No lentils or rice to be found. I didn’t even look in the paper goods section. A small chain of natural, organic markets does have TP, but the rough, recycled kind. I bought two rolls and am mailing them to my neighbor on Whidbey Island, where they can’t even find hand soap.
  21. Apparently, the local gun stores are selling out of guns and ammo. Some will not sell ammo without the purchase of a firearm. More than a few residents of my liberal neighborhood are quietly discussing the acquisition of guns. Is this another ominous trend—a fear that the police won’t be able to contain desperate crowds looking for supplies and food in gentrified neighborhoods?
  22. They’re still a thing in the US? I’ve never been to one.
  23. I have plenty. Also 4 toilets. I know...excessive
