I spent time mountain biking in Bosnia-Hercegovina in August 2018. Really enjoyed Sarajevo but it was a sad place with the Bosniaks resigned to a tough future without NATO and US protection. They’re worried that Serbia and Croatia will absorb most of the country, leaving a Muslim rump state. They know they’ll never be admitted to the EU. The Serbs already have 51% of the territory in their Republika Srpska. It’s an ancient history. The Serbs have always considered the Bosniaks as traitors to Orthodox Christianity and resented their privileged status under 5 centuries of Ottoman rule. They also despise some Bosniaks for their collaboration with the fascists during WW2. There was even a Muslim SS division (Handschar). So, it’s an ancient hatred, ameliorated only under the Tito regime, which many in the former Yugoslavia regard as a golden age.

I keep in touch with people I’ve met during my travels via WhatsApp. Some interesting items: Kyiv: unprepared for a surge, but thankfully the caseload is manageable. Worried about a weakened US and NATO leading Russia to grab more of the Donets. Kraków: everyone must wear face masks in public. All parks and gyms still closed. Montenegro and Serbia: Schadenfreude at the US’ predicament. They still haven’t forgotten the NATO air raids on Belgrade in 1999. Salzburg: easing restrictions. No tourists expected for a while. Only Germans allowed in at the moment.

The prison systems in many states have become hotspots.

I saw a regular the first half of March. So far, so good for both of us. I, too, suspect I may have had it in January, since I had most of the symptoms for weeks, and I rarely get sick. I’m going to get the antibody test in any event. As to when I rehire, perhaps late summer? Who knows?

I bought a pricey German-made Wahl on Amazon a few weeks ago. Turned out it was just a trimmer. Then I bought a cheaper Conair clippers set at Walgreen’s. While I haven’t tried the Conair yet, I’ve been using the Wahl around my ears and to lighten the sideburns. I’ll use the video posted above. Thinking of an overall 2, then a 1 for the sides and back. Basic military officer look.

While I see your point re overnights, once you’ve developed a rapport with a provider, as in my case, weekends, sometimes three nights, become common. I’d never do an overnight with a newbie, though.

I hear you, although I ordered a Homedics UV light bag for preshipment on May 7 and was just alerted that is has shipped and will be here Monday. I want to not only sterilize my phone and keys daily, but also my N95 masks. There are real concerns about supply lines. I’m heading up to my island place north of Seattle at the end of May and might weather the storm up there since there are plenty of farms and butchers there and it will be distant from any civil unrest, which is a distinct possibility, esp. if there’s the predicted resurgence in the fall.
