Gay stripper clubs in Montreal offer a complete spectrum of body types from slight and young to swimmers and gym bunnies and on to really big body builders. "Taboo" is one end of the spectrum; "Campus" is the next phase.
 
Last week was quite busy at "Campus." Wednesday was Gary, the owner's, 50th birthday, and there was a big party with female singer, dancing in the aisles, and a finale with 50 dancers on stage. Then Friday night, a Special Customer from New York was at the club to celebrate his birthday, so the stage was specially decorated and the dancers were all excited.
 
The pattern of activity at "Campus" has changed slightly. The club opens at 3:00, but if you come before 6:00 any day of the week, you will sit at the bar with the bartender and one dancer and listen to music. Nothing really gets going until 6:00 when the second shift of dancers come on; they will stay until midnight. The crowd of customers appears beginning at 6:00.
 
Although it used to be that twinks danced in the late afternoon and early evening, on the four nights I was there last week, there was not a single twink. What is featured now is the swimmer's build or frat boy model, somewhat more developed than a twink, a bit more mature (not as "cute" or "boyish"), and usually some muscle development. They are handsome young men.
 
Zack - was a delight, charming, youthful, energetic, beautiful body but certainly not lean, great conversationalist, very nice in back, and great ass. He's fun to talk with, fun to play with, smooth, and enjoys giving you a good time.
 
Andrew - was there only one night, but he was very good, a little lean but muscled (he does construction during the day), a little shy, good in back, intelligent.
 
Jay - danced each night, nice guy, smooth lean body, some muscle development, well hung, nice firm round ass, works the crowd.
 
Damon - was there two nights and is stunning, beautiful face and sandy, curly hair, lightly tanned body of a young Greek god, perfectly proportioned, slender waist, must be about 6 feet tall, and a gorgeous body in every way. Little uncertainty with English, but very nice.
 
James - had a nice swimmer's body, was good on the pole, and had a dazzling smile. He is popular with all the dancers and seems like a good friend and pleasant.
 
Alexi - (I think that was his name, but maybe "Starling"?). He danced every night and has an almost perfect young man's body, beautiful tightly muscled torso, great legs, smooth, beautiful full firm ass, strong, defined back muscles, good haircut, handsome face and good haircut. His dance is very good, and he dances fully nude. He is covered completely on the left side with tattooes.
 
Dave - has an average swimmer's body, smooth, and is fairly tall. He seemed to be nice, but never smiled, and he danced every night. A smile helps a great deal. He also shows all, but never takes everything off and never dances actually nude.
 
Adam - danced Saturday and was absolutely stunning. He's 20, slender but perfectly muscled and perfectly proportioned. His pecs, abs, and back are nicely defined, and his legs are gorgeous. He's a college student and dances only weekends. He's aware of himself as an entertainer and works the stage and the crowd. His English is very good and he is a good conversationalist.
 
Nito / Cubanito - is a frat boy type from Cuba. He's got dark curly hair, a very nice body and is well hung, and he dances fully nude. He seemed to have a number of admirers in the audience, danced every night, and seemed to work hard and please customers.
 
Chris - was the sole blond while I was there, pleasant, smooth, nice ass, nicely hung, gregarious, very nice looking when he smiled. He did wear a baseball cap much of the time.
 
Angelo - was an Italian/Canadian, tall and lean and a little hairy. He also wore a cap. His body type was a swimmer's.
 
In addition to these guys, there were at least as many other dancers from 6:00 - 9:00 that might be described as pudgy. They weren't fat nor body builders, but they were somewhat heavier than an average build, perhaps a college football player physique. At 9:00 the older and more muscular dancers appeared and performed until 3:00 a.m.
 
The crowd of customers becomes quite thick after 7:30. If you are very interested in particular dancers, your chance of talking with them and getting a lap dance is best between 6:00 and 7:30. Lap dances are $20 and the booths in back have open doors, no curtains.
 
You can plan your evening to start with "Campus" from 6:00 - 8:00 or so, then have dinner at one of the restaurants along Ste. Catherine, then head to "Stock" or "Taboo" (depending on your taste) for another few hours of stripper action.

Been to Action Bar in Budapest many times when open. Every friday night was porn stars and escorts like this but also fucking. Plenty of back rooms and rooms with slings to meet the guys more personally. Some amazing Bel Ami types. All week their ad would show photos of the two stars who would be having sex on stage that Friday.
 
On Saturday night it was Oral Academy, where the show guys got blowjobs from everyone in the audience.
 
In the year or two it's been closed there really isn't much reason for gay men to go to Budapest. It was a huge tourist draw.I flew from the US 3 times.

RODRIGO - is a very handsome young dancer from Mexico and always danced to Latin rhythms, which I liked. (I remember when Diego was the first to do that.) Rodrigo is perhaps the biggest of the dancers. Not really big and not Stock type at all, but not slender. He is pleasant and nice to watch, but he never took off everything, even in the second dance. I'm not sure why not. He was friendly, and walked around the room and tried to meet people. He dances well, and the skin we could see was very nice. But more/all would have been nicer.
 
ALAN - is a friend of his and also from Mexico and also dances to Latin music. It is nice to hear the sound in contrast to all that hard rock and metallic music. Alan is young, has dark blond hair, and does dance totally nude. I am not sure of his age, but he seems to have a little baby fat left on his tummy and elsewhere. He tries hard and dances well. And he is a totally nude true twink on stage for our enjoyment.
 
MARCO - apparently is one of the regulars. He is a tall, good looking, slender boy, who currently has his hair cut like King Henry V at the Battle of Agincourt. We saw some others like that around town. Marco comes close to fem, but not exactly. At almost 6 feet, he is definitely tall. He dances sensuously and works a lot on the pole. Marco strips all the way for the full second dance and sometimes even for the first, and he has a very large cock, which he is happy to show off. He also uses those dance moves which allow him to show his ass and crack to customers near the stage. He kneels, bends over, and his cheeks spread for a full view. He turns to make sure the customers are enjoying it. He sometimes wears some exotic clothes/costumes. He spends a lot of time walking around the room in very little.

I tried to talk with him but had no success.
 
COREY - is perhaps a regular; he seems very confident. He is a tall, blond, slender, smooth skinned, good looking young man, who always wears a colored jockstrap and a jacket of some kind. He dances to very slow, somewhat strange music (at least to me). While he shows off his bare ass and legs throughout his two dances, he never strips down fully. And during the slow dance, he wears a jacket, denim or otherwise, which he pulls down slightly off one shoulder, but never removes. So I guess I would say, he is a good looking twink who gets almost totally nude, and performs in a unique way.
 
RYAN - seems like a slightly more mature guy, but certainly young, slender, and cute. He has dark hair, perfectly smooth skin, and seems to always wear a fedora hat. He seems to know a lot of people. He did interesting, sometimes provocative dances, and he does dance totally nude and shows off his assets well. He is very energetic. One evening, they had a customer sit on a chair on stage, and Ryan did a pole dance around and on him. It was very well done, and Ryan was sexy, enticing, and teasing. He was on my to-do list, but I only had so much time. I would definitely try him in the future.
 
JOEY - was a robust young man who was very active in his dancing and covered the whole stage. He is good looking, perhaps Irish, has fine skin, good endowment and round, firm ass, but he was a little too big for me. He was not at all a muscular, bulging guy, but he is not a slender type. He tries hard, and he does dance totally nude, sometimes in both of his dances.
 
There were a few others as well. There were plenty of boys to keep me interested in what was going on on the stage, and also plenty to take to the back room for lap dances, all of which I enjoyed very much. Dances are $15 each at Taboo, so you can tip well without being extravagant. There was no time in the four evenings when I got bored or turned away from an unattractive dancer - there are no unattractive dancers at Taboo right now. There were only a few small tattoos on a few boys, but none of the all-encompassing types. Cokes and beers are $4, which is very reasonable.

Although Campus opens at 3:00 every day, nothing really happens until 6:00. I visited four times last week. If you go earlier, there is one dancer who dances at 5:00, then half an hour of music, then one more dance, and another half hour of music. There are only a couple of customers. But by 6:00 on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the show really begins. And from 6:00 - 9:00, you are treated to a number of dancers, mostly twinks. At 9:00, another group arrives, mostly of bigger guys. Fortunately, the quality of the twinks right now is high, so I had a very good time every day between the stage and the back room.

BRANDON - was an exceptional find. He has dark blond hair and an overall tan. He's cute and sexy, kind of an ideal-looking twink. He works out a lot in the gym, and his body is pretty amazing, from the firm pecs to hard six pack of abs, firm young high ass, and long straight legs. He walks and dances on the balls of his feet, as Pascal used to do. He's 25. Although his face is often impassive on stage, he also has a radiant and sometimes mischievous smile. No warm-up, no preliminaries. We declined. Two days later, he came over and did the same to me. He's cute, sexy, very nice body, so I said "Maybe," but I am always careful, and so I added, "but you must take off all your clothes before we begin." He said first dance was in boxers, and then we would see. I courteously but firmly declined. He got up and walked away and approached other customers, but got no response. This went on twice more, until finally he sat down, I repeated, he thought, and then said OK. When we got in back, he was fine, took off everything immediately, and he has a beautiful twink body. As I was playing, I became aware of a slight sound. Then I realized he was humming. I think out of nervousness, and he was unaware. As I got to the more erogenous zones, the volume and pace of the humming picked up. I thought, this will be fun. His dancing is a little awkward - he bends forward most of the time, but he is fully nude for the whole slow dance. In the back he is warm, engaging, generous, fun, and interactive. But get him while you can, because he is usually occupied.
 
MIKA / MICHAEL - is a special find. He is the best conversationalist by far, and very, very sexy. He is of Lebanese background, but born in Canada. He's 23, dark haired, sparkling eyes, well endowed, nice ass, and he is a student. He is fun to chat with at the bar, and then even more fun to take in back for a lap dance. He gives one of the best dances available, always watching to make sure you are having fun and ready to do whatever is necessary so you have a good time. Highly recommended.
 
DALLAS - is a 22 year old cute little blond. His mop of hair is kind of unruly, but he is sweet, gentle, eager, and very good in back. He has light blond down on his ass and legs and crack, and he is fun to pet. He will sit with you at your table and chat nicely, and then go in back and give you other pleasures.
 
ALEX - is a young, slender, smooth skinned, dark haired dancer, who often wore a baseball cap. He frequently sat with one of the regular customers at the bar. He danced fully nude, and he is very well endowed. His dances were energetic and he moved around a lot, and he showed off everything clearly. I saw him go in back several times.
 
CARMELO - was a 24 year old smooth skinned, slender young man. He danced sensuously and fully nude in his slow dance. He is well endowed and happy to show you. In lap dance, he was good and cooperative and interactive.
 
Then there were several bigger guys, not hugely muscular or big body builders, but fuller, somewhat muscular bodies. All would have been right at home in Stock (and maybe that's where they came from). They smiled, they danced well, they had very nice torsos. I saw a couple of their first dances, but I must have been in back every time one did a slow dance, because I didn't see any. So I don't know if they danced fully nude or just did the "Stock Flash." Here are five of them:
 
PAULY - was a personable, pleasant, smooth skinned young man.
 
TYSON - was one of the biggest, nice, smooth, seemed pleasant.
 
MAX - did a very good first dance and got almost nude. He tries, moves around.
 
COLE - for me was the most interesting. He is tall, very nice body with muscles, the best of the Stock type. He is wearing a man-bun. When he smiled, he looked very young, perhaps 20. I would have liked to see him in a slow dance, but I never did. But he looked very promising.
 
KANE - was another fairly muscular, tall, somewhat more mature dancer. I don't know whether he stripped completely either.

Indeed the booths at Stock have curtains... the booths at Campus are open... they used to have doors... there is a reason they took them off... that hasn't stopped the reason.

I can say that(IMO) Stock is classier? Campus is good as well.. the open in the afternoon with more twink dancers and the evening has more muscle dancers.

Definitely go to both Stock and Campus, they are just a block away. Bring lots of $20s and don't be shy about going up to a dancer you like and asking for a dance -- he will be happy to oblige. And be prepared to be hit up by lots of dancers -- if not interested, just be direct, but polite, and say no thanks, not tonight. Don't drink too much and have fun!

For me the Law of the Strip Club is that the guys you are least interested in will be all over you asking for "a dance". Especially as fresh meat they will try to get you to go with them. As noted above, if you're not interested just say so early in the proceedings.
 
Part of the fun for me is the people watching. So I tend to hang toward the back and watch what's going on for a while. I agree also that having some one to show you the ropes can be helpful, but just by observing you will pick up a lot.
 
Between the two I always enjoyed Campus more. The guys were more my type and it's more intimate. Stock is enormous and just feels more impersonal in a way. But it's easy enough to try them both out.
 
Make sure you and the dancer are always aware of the number of songs if you do go for a private dance. I always found it helpful to keep count after each song "That's one song, right?" "That's two. How about one more?" Or if you know up front what your budget is just say so "Let's do three". I haven't been to either in a while, but from what I recall the lap dance area at Stock was more private. Others who have been recently will be better at telling you about the current state of play. A lot of what goes on in a private depends on chemistry.

Definitely try Stockbar. Lots of fun!

Don't get your heart set on any particular dancer...even if the website is up to date (which it isn't), dancers often decide at the last minute whether to work on a particular day or whether to quit altogether.
You're reading conflicting accounts because there is no hard and fast rule about these things. They will get naked on stage for part of their routines. They almost always walk around shirtless when they're not on stage (this is usually a management requirement), and some will wear revealing shorts or underwear as well. Only twice in all my visits have I seen a dancer walking around completely nude when not on stage. 
PS It will be fucking cold in Montreal in January, with wind chills not to be believed. Pack appropriately!

Bravo on starting to explore!! It can be nerve-wracking at first. I remember when I went to my first few strip clubs, I was always sooo self conscious and uptight. So much so, that the first couple of times I spent more time worrying and less time relaxing and enjoying myself.
 
Then I suddenly realized, “Hey! I’m in a fucking strip club surrounded by hot strippers!! And every patron in here is here for the EXACT same reason as me.”
 
And ever since that epiphany, I’ve had some of the best times ever at places like Stock and Campus. Have a cocktail, sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Life’s too short not to

go and just relax and have a good time; I spent a bit more time at Campus than at Stockbar last spring; I liked the look of the guys at Campus more than at Stockbar that particular time; ultimately I got weary of being hustled, but before I left I did have a lap dance for two or three songs with a handsome Caribbean guy--only problem was that I left reeking of cologne!

I have two suggestions.

Post your travel dates and ask if there's a Montreal-savvy person who will be there when you are and who is willing to accompany you to the clubs. Apart from the tutoring aspect, it's always more fun if you have a companion.
The strip club forum has many, many posts about Montreal strip clubs. It's worth taking the time to read through them. Even though details (layout, prices, ....) may have changed, you will get a good feel for what it's like. Don't neglect the older posts -- I recall some by YFSC that were invaluable to me when I first started frequenting Montreal.
