No, you are not behind the times at all. Prices have increased since the pandemic. $150 for one hour with a private masseur has become a fair rate, while many are closing in on the $200 mark. If the client leaves with a smile on their face, they may want to add on a bit to a $150 price point as a tip. $200 ($50 tip) is adequate. I like to put that extra $100 on my next massage.

I'm inclined to believe that it was more than a massage. The masseur is very humble to make that comment no matter what went on and I applaud him for it. Seems like a really nice guy.

Good question. I understand that East Mens Spa has recently moved one block from its original location and it's all brand new . An acquired favorite masseur of mine, Michael Wang, who worked in my Brooklyn nabe is now working at East Mens. For those of you who know August, I'll compare Michael to him with similar physiques. Michael aims to please and performs a good massage. You will find Michael's ad on masseurfinder. I have not gone to see him at East Mens yet but recommend him. Please let us know if you go. I had gone to the original East Mens location several years ago and was not pleased but will give this new location a try.

He still works at 27 Mens Spa and does private massages in his apt. His private rate for one hour is $200. When I told him that was a bit above my price point, he offered me an appointment for $180. We can maybe try him out for the discounted spa rate for the first time and tip well if he takes good care of us and then go see him privately for a second appointment knowing what to expect.

I would look at the connection you've described as having made a new friend. In your case, perhaps a friend with benefits. Nothing wrong with that.
