That's a great idea -- get some perspective. Do you plan on telling him that you're taking a break? I can see both sides of that coin. Something to think about: If you see him every week, do you 1) make your next appointment when you're on the table in the current appointment, 2) have a standing appointment the same day and time every week, or 3) play it by ear and schedule one session at a time? If it's 1 or 2, he might ask why you're cancelling/taking a break, so you need to have an answer prepared.

I never try to book someone again immediately after a massage -- schedules change, things come up, etc. I reach out a few days, maybe a week ahead of time, especially if I know they're popular or if they're traveling through Dallas and might be in demand because they're new blood.

Can you see if the text was delivered or read? Did everything seem to go well during the session -- i.e., both parties agreed on what type of massage it would be and it seemed to fit the parameters, neither of you got "handsy" or more with the other when a therapeutic session was agreed. Is it possible that he went out of town or is traveling or on vacation? There are numerous other scenarios I can think of. I would wait another day or two. If he doesn't respond, I would move on to another provider (hopefully you have a good selection where you live). I've had masseurs ghost me with no explanation even after I had been a long-time client and had multiple sessions with them.
