  1. Goes back to Maud the daughter of King Edward VII who married the King of Norway https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maud_of_Wales
  2. Thank-you! Very interesting.
  3. I hate leaf blowers! If I could do away with one modern invention it wouldn't be the bomb but the leaf blower! In my town there is a noise ordinance that they can not operate before 7AM. I don't need a clock to know what time it is. And all they do is blow the leaves from one place to another; no one gathers them up. When I used to be able to take a morning walk I'd go past a small shopping plaza; just a couple of businesses. There were no trees nor bushes; no leaves to blow.. One morning there were two men with leaf blowers. They were playing with a welcome mat blowing it upside down and the right side up several times.
  4. Charles, William, Cambridge children are first tier Harry is second tier Basically Harry is way down the line in the order of succession. I think you might have to go back to the time of Richard III to find a brother succeeding a brother who had children.
  5. Tiers - Line of Succession #1 - Prince Charles #2 - Prince William #3 , 4, 5 - The Cambridge Children in order of birth #6 - Harry #7, 8, 9 - Andrew and his daughters & etc..
  6. I think that it was just a misunderstanding. Last week when the Life Alert installer was here I had a check for a bill that I asked him if he would take out to the mailbox by the curb. He said that he would when he finished. It took it with him. I hope he mailed it.
  7. I do indeed. I think it was in 7th grade she got upset with me and would not let me eat with the family for several days. I had to eat my dinner in the kitchen. I had no lunch also. The reason? My mother had made a bread pudding for dessert and I gave it to my father.
  8. My mother was strict with my diet when I was a boy. One time visiting my paternal grandmother; she gave me a candy bar. Once back in the car my mother took it from me and gave it to my father. In my teens my sister took her children and our mother and me out to lunch at an "all-you-can-eat" place. I knew I had to be careful. I skipped the potatoes. I got a bell pepper stuffed with rice. I thought my mother would be happy I chose a vegetable. On the drive home she wouldn't talk to me. Back home she took out a package of sweet rolls (they were for my father) and threw the package at me saying "If you want to kill yourself here go ahead". It took me awhile to figure out why she was angry at me. But then I realized it was because the pepper was stuffed with rice. I have many such stories! One more. When I was a boy I had my tonsils taken out. Afterwards my mother came by while I had breakfast. It was oatmeal and I had put sugar on it. She was not happy about it.
  9. That was good! hehehehehehe
  10. You're younger than Jack Benny then. ;-)))
  11. I can see why an escort or porn model might be but not the rest of us. They say women are age vain but not my mother. I had an older sister. Same mother, different fathers. My sister got married the month after she turned 16. She didn't have to. She was married in January and first child was not born until the following January. My mother was 39 when the baby was born. My mother loved telling people that she was a grandmother and only 39 because people would often tell her that she didn't look old enough to be a grandmother.
  12. I've been a diabetic for over 10 years. My mother had it; it killed her at age 56. Her mother had and although she lived into her 80s it cost her both legs (amputated below the knees, several years apart). My doctor told me not to eat bread, potatoes, rice, pasta and cereal. Also corn, peas, oranges, grapes which I liked. When I was diagnosed I got rid of my toasters.
  13. On the radio news they said that people are having to evacuate on the big island of Hawaii. On the New Zealand soap opera "Shortland Street" one storyline dealt with a volcano. Quite dramatic with the ash falling and darkness spreading.
  14. I had a friend (now deceased) who would never tell how old he was. My grandmother and his mother had been friends but sadly his mother suffered from dementia else I'd have asked my grandmother to talk to his mother. But one time after he had retired I ran into him at the library. He was there to make photocopies of his birth certificate. He showed it to me. I had rightly guessed the decade but not the year. He was older than I had thought.
  15. Prince Harry is second tier royalty. Are any Heads of State or former Heads of State going to attend?
  16. When I could eat whatever I wanted - I'm a diabetic - I preferred corn to flour tortillas.

  23. He was once on the cover of some gay travel guide.
  24. LOL Another old joke - Do you know how to make hookers moan? Don't pay them.
  25. Right! But my point is that it is not illegal to pay someone not tell something.
