So what exactly offends you about his ad? That he is young and adventurous? That he is openminded? That he is looking for casual fun that puts a little money in his pocket? I doubts I would hire him…but I see no reason to call him out in a public forum for absolutely nothing. You are entitled to your opinion, but since you are sharing, let me share mine: you are bang out of line - consider that minding your own business may be a good idea.

Will you miss Warren Buffet's advice? I sure will!
+ FrankR replied to marylander1940's topic in Personal Finance & Investing
Let’s not go full fan-boy here. Buffett only started making headlines in the 90s - before then he was…unknown. I will buy 35 years but not 50. That is an over statement. -

He looked and sounded very frail during today’s presentation. I can understand why he is stepping down. I will miss his folksy commentary and his annual letter to shareholders. -
Bear market! Recession has it begun.
+ FrankR replied to Kcdave's topic in Personal Finance & Investing
Yesterday we got some insight into how the economy is doing and I spent about an hour on FRED doing some soul searching. It does not look good. Solid results from Tech companies have taken the edge off, but consensus is that we are looking at a recession in Q3 and likely a bear market too. Time to batten down the hatches and prepare to hunker down. -
By your own admission, Treasury Direct is problematic. It has taken me up to 3 days to get a response to a redemption request. Emergency funds should be available in an emergency - almost immediately, so I hesitate to park my emergency funds here.

You said the same thing back in February and also in April 2024…why keep repeating it? Are you enjoying nursing your grudge? 🤨

I am quite enjoying Mobland on Paramount. Great cast - dry British humor - gangster life. Guy Richie at his best. 😁

Yes, frequent name changer. He’s been using the same pics since 2018, you may want to verify with Facetime before meeting in person.

86% of Gen Z and Millennials have 'menu anxiety'
+ FrankR replied to Ali Gator's topic in The Lounge
I see this quite often in my own neighborhood. Almost always women and they are older, not Milennials or Gen Z. I’m a dog person, but cant think of a reason why I would do this…subjecting poor Fido to the Walmart odor must be torture! -
Ive never owned a toaster oven and didnt realize you could control the temperature well enough. Maybe I am thinking of older models.

2025 Stock market crash affecting escorts and masseurs?

⬆️ Over-share my man! 😆 -
'Name brands' vs. 'Store brands' - what do you buy ?
+ FrankR replied to Ali Gator's topic in The Lounge
It very much depends on what I am buying. As examples: Store brand dish soap works just fine for me. But store brand corn flakes is horrible and barely toasted so get too soggy - I stick to Kelloggs. -

Bear market! Recession has it begun.
+ FrankR replied to Kcdave's topic in Personal Finance & Investing
I am more concerned with filing my taxes this year! I also sold significant parts (like 70%) of my equity holdings in 2024 and it resulted in capital gains…so uncle Sam, my silent partner, wants his cut. Moved into SGOV mostly. Luckily i have pushed Roth options to the max everywhere, the past 20 years, so those sales are not taxed. Not brave enough to buy just yet - i do think there is more pain to come. Another 5% drop and I will start buying. Non-US blue chips are looking interesting with a strong dollar in play and dividend yield support. -

Bear market! Recession has it begun.

I suspect it will be worse than you think. Not only do we have significant economic policy problems, but we have severe fiscal and monetary impairments (just look at the USA’s debt levels) and unemployment will increase as more automation and AI driven development takes root. I started preparing in August 2024 and continue to take steps to prepare. I would be delighted to be proven wrong. -
Tesla (TSLA) do you want it in your portfolio?

If you have trouble keeping up with popular culture - please note that from now on, this will be known as the Tesla emoji: 🔥 (Thanks, SNL!) -
How Do Y'all Afford Hiring These Days?
+ FrankR replied to + Gar1eth's topic in Questions About Hiring
I have two regulars - i see them every other week. Havent seen much of an uptick in rate, but I have upped the tip I give. Maybe it is because I hire mainly for massage that I havent bumped into the extraordinary rates. One of the guys will be finishing college soon and will likely move away for work, so I will have to hunt for a replacement…so will see how that goes. Luckily there is plenty of talent in NYC. -
House: Sell and invest or Rent? Long Post, apologies
+ FrankR replied to Rod Hagen's topic in Personal Finance & Investing
Hard to answer that without more information. In general, the best short term parking vehicles for funds are money market funds, high yield savings accounts, CDs and short term bonds or treasuries. -
Yes, there is always risk, even if it is relatively low. But you can mitigate the risk by getting vaccinated.

Did you miss @ShortCutie7 comments from YESTERDAY? How more recent do you want? 🙄

I can’t wait! When everyone hates it based on the trailer, I usually end up enjoying it. Plus Nathan Lane! 😆
