  1. And the Dish may relegate a crowd your size to its upper level which takes away some of the vicious fun of watching the flora and fauna prancing up and down the Eighth Avenue..

Yeah, it's always fun to watch the college girls trying to walk in high heels while chatting on their cell phones or the nannies pushing babies around in double-wide strollers. :p

  2. We've been meaning to take foot pics for a while now because we also get requests and because we fucking love to have our feet worshipped...along with getting our asses rimmed, pits licked, cocks sucked, and anywhere else on our bodies that an oral pig wants to go. I'm thinking of doing some close-up body part shots for those fetishes. So no, Kevin, I don't think it's an inane topic. :p

  3. >"I think I love you, so what am I so afraid of? A love there

    >is no cure for...." Did I get the lyrics right?

Almost, but that is not their best song. They went on to make 8 albums of really great pop/rock music (they had the top session players of the time) and David could really rock out on his solo albums. Don't knock my Partridges. :p

  4. >The Who is my all time favorite band.

I knew I liked you for other reasons besides you-know-what. }( The Who is my all-time favorite band, too (second is The Partridge Family and no, I am not kidding)

  5. Yes, lots of old groups are touring but not all of them are putting out new material, let alone good new material! The Who had become another oldies act but not any more. And thankfully, they didn't do the obligatory covers album that everyone's doing these days. This is a great album and socially relevant, too. :)

  6. I don't watch current TV shows so I have no idea who this is but T.R. Knight just came out to People magazine. I think it's great that as more celebrities come out, it's less sensational each time. It was such a big deal with Ellen, but so much has changed in 10 years. Like T.R. says in the interview, "I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me." Very cool.

  7. Children are exposed to (hetero)sexual words and imagery on a daily basis in advertising, music videos, reality shows, etc. The female body is used to sell almost every product and lots of gals walk the streets dressed like sluts with their ass cracks exposed. Just because the Castro has sexual gay imagery, it's suddenly awful and inappropriate? That's ridiculous. That lesbian mom in the article had it right: "The mother maintained that exposure to the racy ads has not harmed her daughter. 'There's not much to shock her,' Koch said. 'Sex has been in her peripheral vision for a long time.'" Damn right. :)

  8. Some (many?) of our posters/lurkers are in the closet, and while I respect their choices, I think it's also important to encourage them to come out. Almost everyone I've ever spoken to who went through the experience after years of living in secrecy said they felt liberated, empowered, and that it wasn't the horrible, life-ending disaster they'd anticipated. And in many cases, their friends and family already knew; those that didn't were often supportive. Of course, that is not everyone's experience, but...well, I always remember that when I told my parents I was gay at age 16, my feeling was: hey, if they can't deal with it, that's their problem, not mine. Luckily for me, they were cool with it (after I explained that, no, I didn't want to wear dresses :p ).

Here's the Human Rights Campaign's press release:

WASHINGTON — “Talk About It” will be the theme of this year’s National Coming Out Day, to be celebrated on Oct. 11, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation announced today. HRCF’s Coming Out Project is an ongoing campaign to empower gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and allied Americans to live openly and honestly about their lives.

“Every single time we talk about our lives as GLBT Americans, we are another step closer to equality,” said HRC President Joe Solmonese. “Each word helps build bridges that change hearts and minds — and eventually our laws.”

A poll of GLBT Americans last year showed that startling amounts of people not only conceal their sexual orientation or gender identity from people in their lives, but many people who consider themselves to be “out” also refrain from speaking to others about GLBT issues. Among the findings of the poll: only 3 percent of members of the GLBT community are out to their doctors, and less than half are out to their bosses at work.

“Obviously, coming out for the first time is important for leading a whole and complete life, but we also want to help encourage and empower people to talk openly about their lives each and every day,” said Mark Shields, director of the Coming Out Project.

Shields recently began as director of the Coming Out Project. Previously, he had served as deputy director of media relations at HRC, where he helped develop the organization’s messages and provided information and resources to reporters and news outlets.

The Coming Out Project is particularly focusing on supportive straight people and working to give them resources and opportunities to voice their support for equality.

“We will only achieve equality by growing the number of people who stand with us,” said Shields. “Every time a straight person speaks out against an anti-gay joke, or joins a gay-straight alliance, they are having a coming out experience. We want to honor that, and make sure it happens more often.”

In the coming weeks, new resources and materials will be made available and the Coming Out Project will continue to mobilize around Coming Out Day, but it is also working to help people be “out” every single day.

  9. >I have a friend that works for a known music channel and asked

    >him why hasn't someone come up with a show where the old disco

    >acts could sing their songs.

VH-1 did that a couple of years ago; it was a 2-hour special with Irene Cara, KC and the Sunshine Band, Maxine Nightingale, Thelma Houston, etc. I would have rather seen old clips. :p

    >I mean do y'all remember that horrific year when Diana was

    >trying to force the "Faux Supremes" down our throats...

It would have been better if it were Mary & Cindy but I think Scherrie & Lynda (who were real Supremes, not faux, in the 70's) did a great job. I saw the concert at MSG and Diana was in really good voice & she did all the old hits in their original keys. Not bad for a post-menopausal diva, no? :)

  10. >My Dj asked me to see if anyone here knows who sings "The

    >Devils Gun"

    >"Caught Up In One Night Love Affair" He can't believe how many

    >tunes we have come up with and they are all classics..

    "Devil's Gun" was recorded by C. J. & Co.

and "Caught Up In A One Night Love Affair" was done by Inner Life

(Godiva, I didn't know the answers but I am a Master Googler.) ;-)
