I have very little respect for the CDC. It has been wrong so many time that, at least for me, it has little credibility. I much prefer the studies and conclusions reached by Harvard Medical School in conjunction with Pfizer and the Israeli Health Department. The CDC is likely to change its recommendations between now at the Palm Springs Weekend several times. God only knows what they will be recommending by the time the Weekend rolls around. I agree with you completely Liubit regarding consecutive interpretation. My friend, who did simultaneous translation, did NOT like doing consecutive interpretation. BSR you make an excellent point regarding simultaneous translators. I am fluent in Spanish and after a few day in Mexico I feel I have returned home linguistically. However, I CANNOT simultaneous translate. I can tell someone what the person was saying but definitely NOT a word for word translation. The ability to simultaneously translate is a unique skill that few people have. I worked, for a number of years, with a woman who was a certified simultaneous translator: French/English, English/French, French/Spanish, Spanish/French, Spanish/English and English/Spanish. She was an absolute marvel.
