Doberman pinscher goes in for dental work, comes out neutered A blue Doberman pinscher brought to a North Carolina animal hospital to have his teeth cleaned came out neutered. His owners planned to breed him. “He is our first family pet. We love him to death. He’s a good-looking dog,” Haley Plymale told WRAL of her 2-year-old dog Hannibal. “I wanted a little piece of him to keep in the family forever.” According to the report, Plymale drove Hannibal to his appointment at Creekside Animal Hospital in Roanoke Rapids Tuesday and handed him over to a staffer. COVID-19 restrictions prohibit pet owners from going inside. Plymale said she got a call 90 minutes later from an upset veterinarian who told her there’d been a mistake by a vet tech and Hannibal was castrated. Plymale thinks he may have been confused with another Doberman. “(The vet) said this had never happened to her before,” Plymale said. “She sounded like she was in tears.” Plymale reportedly wants to be compensated for the apparent error and says she’s spoken to a lawyer. Creekdale Animal Hospital’s operator Dr. Cynthia Elias posted a note on Facebook. “As animal lovers and veterinarians we care deeply for our patients, and strive to treat every one as if they were family. We understand the concerns surrounding a recent incident in which a dog was mistakenly neutered at our clinic, and it is with a heavy heart that we write this message,” the posting said. “We realize an incident like this is not okay, and want you to know we have already implemented additional preventative measures to make sure it can’t happen again.” She also wrote that the Creekside Animal Hospital would work with Plymale to find a solution. Dr. Elias has not responded to requests for comment from the Daily News.

“Jeopardy!” is suffering another tragic loss after the death of beloved host Alex Trebek. Brayden Smith, a champion competitor during Trebek’s final episodes he filmed before losing his battle with pancreatic cancer, died at age 24. He died unexpectedly last Friday in his hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada. “The ‘Jeopardy!’ family is heartbroken by the tragic loss of Brayden Smith,” the show said in a statement. “He was kind, funny and absolutely brilliant. Our deepest condolences go out to Brayden’s family. He will be missed.” “We are heartbroken to share that our dear Brayden Smith recently passed away unexpectedly,” Smith’s mother Debbie wrote on Twitter. “We are so grateful that Brayden was able to live out his dream on @jeopardy.” The cause of death is unknown, TMZ reported. Smith won five games in a row and more than $115,000 during his week on the show, which was filmed in October. I love Tunde. My feelings for Olu vary from episode to episode. I usually like her, though. I especially liked the way she got rid of Abishola's hubby. Douglas & (especially) Christina are the ones that I usually can't stand. Goodwin & Kofu are usually funny. And I've always liked Vernee Watson, who plays Abishola's other hospital friend. Kemi was so-so for me last season, but I can't stand her this year. I find her obnoxious and not funny. I need the closed captions for her & Abishola's accents, though that has nothing to do with my feelings for the character. And I also don't like her boyfriend the pharmacist. I knew Gina Yashere (Kemi) from her stand-up act & she's usually fairly funny. She's a British born and raised lesbian with very short hair. She's of Nigerian descent, though. She lives with a white professor from John Jay college. They used to live in NY, but Gina moved to LA for the show, & the girlfriend has moved out there since covid, as she's been zoom lecturing.

Not giving 'Bruno Mars' $100,000 like this mensa member did: A 63-year-old Texas woman was bilked out of $100,000 by a catfishing con who convinced her she was dating Bruno Mars, authorities said this week. Chinwendu Azuonwu allegedly posed as the “Uptown Funk” singer on Instagram and seduced the woman, before leading her to believe he needed help with touring expenses, ABC30 reported. The victim told police she created an account on the social media platform in 2018, in search of companionship, when someone claiming to be Mars contacted her. Between September and October of that year, the catfisher sent the woman several texts and photos of the 35-year-old Grammy-winner while he was on tour, prosecutors said. Court documents state that the woman fell in love with the person she believed to be Mars, adding that he’d even promised he would quit his current tour to be with her. Then, the scammer began requesting money from the woman, first asking her for a $10,000 check for a “friend of the band” for “tour expenses,” the filings state. Two days later, he allegedly hit her up for funds again, this time asking for $90,000. Each of the amounts were deposited into two separate accounts, held by Azuonwu and an alleged accomplice, authorities said. Azuonwu was taken into custody this week and charged with third-degree felony money laundering. His bail was set at $30,000 during a court hearing in Harris County Tuesday.

I like the leads, but the writing continues to be inconsistent and the supporting characters are often annoying, and I keep hoping the show will improve. This week's episode was one of the more enjoyable ones.

Okay... I know closed captioning isn't always perfect, but in last night's episode of FBI some of the action took place in Staten Island. Every time somebody mentioned it, the captions read Stanton Island. REALLY?!?!? The show is filmed and set in NYC and you can't even get the name of one of the boroughs correct?
