  1. Normally, the masseur is at least shirtless, so I don't encounter this situation often. I didn't get the sense for me that he wanted me touching him, which is fine. I appreciate he wants to keep it professional. Other guys are much more explicit that they are ok with me touching them, etc. The issue is, for what he is charging, there are other options in NYC that charge similar prices for erotic massages that are unambiguous in their allowances of how far to go. I have to draw the line on pricing somewhere. If he was the only option in a remote city, I would regularly see him. It was a great massage otherwise.
  2. Normally my rule is if the masseur doesn't undress, I assume he doesn't want to be touched, so I didn't. I remember my massage being very sensual, so I was confused why he didn't disrobe, even at the end.
  3. He was fully clothed for me too, but I wasn't draped. It was a great massage, and he is adorable, but I agree he shouldn't advertise with shirtless photos.
  4. I find the few good erotic masseurs in NJ tend to charge prices similar to Manhattan. I agree that masseurs in general don't appreciate negotiating the price, it raises red flags that they might not get paid if you are that worried about their price. $250 is a bit high, but even in Manhattan I am finding most people are charging $220, there are still some charging $200.
  5. Yes, would recommend. You can schedule your time on his website, and he will get back to you to confirm.
  6. I have seen him, I enjoyed it, but I don't think this is his primary occupation, the info above kind of bears it out.
  7. I am one of Jose's regulars. He has cancelled on me before too, but he is worth it to try again. Another masseur cancelled on me recently, and I gave him another chance. I am happy I did.
  8. I saw him at the end of Feb. He also told me he took a regular job.
  9. Not to some posters and people who have private messaged me over the years.
  10. I wouldn't hire him again for the simple fact of you will always have this incident in the back of your mind if you hired him again. I have hired and been ghosted or fed bs excuses before right before the appointment, so I know the feeling.
  11. You shouldn't assume this for everyone. From posts on here, many people book from rm for the extras. The city can be lonely to people (I know, you will say, if you are lonely here, then you will be lonely everywhere...)These masseurs would not be in business if there wasn't that need.
  12. That rate is per minute.
  13. When I visited London last year, my hires (massage and escort) pretty much were all very friendly, and we had conversation at the end. Nobody was rushing me out the door like here in NYC. In particular was an American ex-pat that I had a long conversation with who extolled the benefits of living in London/UK versus where he was from in the U.S. This was a late night session as well. Some providers here in NYC barely say hello to me.
  14. Recently, I got a massage from someone eho said he wasn't contagious, but was getting over a cold. He wore a mask during the massage. I heard him clear his nose during the massage. I caught a bad cold I think from him. I should have not had the massage.
  15. I am late to this thread but just read it. I used to live in Manhattan, but now live in a NJ suburb. I have travelled to Queens and Brooklyn to see masseurs, but I am in the minority. If you want to come to NYC just to work, I think there are better cities that you would make more money that lack providers. NYC is very expensive and competitive. NYC is not lacking providers, however good or bad they are. You would have to justify it by wanting to visit the city/meet people irregardless of your business. You might want to look into a swap where someone stays in your place in San Diego while you stay in their place in NYC, that is what some masseurs do. You will not want or be able to carry around a massage table to outcalls without having a car. Some subway stations don't have elevators and are very deep, for instance. Having a car would be too expensive for you, (parking is a nightmare and expensive, etc.). My suggestion is to rent one of the massage studios on 14th street (near the PATH train) every time you have an appointment (there are people who live in the city that do this, don't know the economics of it), and stay in Jersey City or somewhere cheaper, like a hostel or the Y, both uptown, if you are not picky. Edit: I just read Simon's response to a poster about how to make traveling work. In Simon's case, given the level of service he wishes to provide and his business acumen, I would lean on not even bothering with NYC.
  16. Good solid therapeutic massage.
  17. He is very nice, probably doesn't know his own strength. I am as skinny as they come...
  18. I told him after the fact, and he told me I should have told him while the message was going on it to ease up. He said he is used to massaging body builders who want it hard.
  19. I am very direct in my first message, typically asking for the rate and are you available today. A lot of these providers are free spirits, they literally don't know where they will be in two weeks. Some of these people are here today, gone tomorrow. If you are thinking of booking an appointment like you do your doctor, very few providers act that professionally, and you are better off going to Massage Envy. I read reviews here to get the lowdown on their massage, I wouldn't want to play 20 questions with a potential client either when I know most people in general aren't serious about booking an appointment.
  20. Very few providers are literally available now when the status says so. Most need at least two hour notice (which is fine). Some say they are not available for the day, after I inquire. I wish there were more specific statuses, like available today, for instance.
  21. Whenever it is dark in the room after the massage, and I can't see well, I always ask for the light to be turned on. I want to make sure I don't leave anything behind, for instance. Also, I always count the money at least two times before handing it over.
  22. I don't even like it when my hair stylist tries to strike a conversation with me, but at least say a couple of sentences to me. I may go back, it's just extraverted people maybe turned off by him.
  23. I had a similar experience with him last week as well, but I had sensual elements, and he did not short me on time. I enjoyed it, but he literally said about ten words to me the entire time.
  24. Some places overseas will not accept Amex, I have encountered this before.
