Giving Christmas gift to providers
handiacefailure replied to BananaBagel's topic in Questions About Hiring
I'm sure he'd love a gift card for a nearby restaurant. Something to keep in mind is that your mailman isn't responsible for you getting your mail late. Our mailman told me that there is a department at the post office that sorts the mail and they base their route on that, so your condo building is probably sorted to be one of the last deliveries. I was also told that if a mailman doesn't have all his mail delivered by his quitting time, he is legally alllowed to stop delivering for the day, so it sounds like your mailman finishes his route everyday if he's delivering that late in the day -
Giving Christmas gift to providers

The USPS doesn’t allow them to accept cash but they can get a gift card or gift up to $20. I know the Johnny walker is worth more but I don’t think the post office really cares for that small of a difference I have never tipped my mailman before moving into my current condo. He is the mailman that delivers our office mail and if something comes certified to me at my house he will take it to the office for me to sign for. -
A lot of bank employees get a bonus or referal fee type comission for a new account. The teller may get a bonus for having you sign up for the new card. I would make sure they keep the account number the same so you don't lose the account history for your fico score and it isn't treated as a new account and make sure they don't do a hard pull.

If you know his favorite liquor or wine, buy him a bottle of that. My mailman loves Johnny Walker black and I always get him a bottle of that every year for Christmas and he told me it's his favorite Christmas gift he gets from the few people on that route that buy him a gift. -
Mayim Bialik says she's been fired from 'Jeopardy'

I first remembered her From blossom with Joey Lawrence. She left to go to college and is a real life genius with a PhD -
Suze Ormans podcast on Weds was pretty interesting. I already bought one for my individual account in Early January and held off for my trust account. If I do buy one for that accoutn I'm going to sell one that has the zero percent fixed rate at the beggining of next month and buy the new one the end of the month. Can't remember if it was addressed in this thread or not she metnioned is you earn interest for the whole month regardless of when you buy it and you lose out on the interest for the entire month you sell it in, so buy towards the end of the month and sell on the 2nd. Reason I am debating on buying one is she mentioned the fixed rate. I always thought you were guaranteed the fixed arte the life of the bond, and found out it isn't the case if there's deflation. Thinking of just taking the three month interest hit and buying another 28 day Tbill with it and continue to reinvest that. I live in a state with a high state tax rate so treasuries are nice being exempt from state tax

And Toyota announced a big increase for their factory workers. I remember one of my favorite college professors who was anti-union said companies should be like P&G and treat their employees fairly and take care of them but try to keep the unions out. He mentioned P&G being non-union but a great company to work for if you were hardworking. Sounds like Toyota is a similar type company.

Bump Anyone been with him lately? I'll be in Seattle in a couple weeks and he is into kink. None of his reviews mention kink but they were all good except for one that said he had a lot of meth sores but that was only one review and from a couple years ago. He looks older than 32 in the pics

Any good Netflix watches?
handiacefailure replied to + FreshFluff's topic in TV and Streaming services
I watched the first two episodes of Tore tonight. I'll probably binge watch it this weekend since there are only six thirty-minute episodes. Some nice eye candy and in episode one there is a small scene showing Tore's entire ass and him getting rimmed, surprised netflix showed that. It's in Swedish though and the dubbing drives me nuts. -
Set up a trust and you can buy another $10K in the name of the trust. A trust is something everyone should have IMHO anyway and you can just use your SSN, you don't need a EIN for the trust for the Ibond, you just have to set up a second account and buy it in that. I think I'm holding off on Ibonds. I'm making over 5.25 percent on thirty day treasury's but the fixed rate is tempting

Now that spaghetti squash is in season, I've been using mine a lot for that. Also works great in the summer when fresh green or yellow beans are in season, just put in a cup of water and set it for high for zero minutes and do a quick release Just the heat and steam from the build up is heat enough to cook them. For single guys, amazon has a singles cookbook for instant pot and it's available in the kindle library

Or when they use old pics from a decade ago. I'm thinking though rentmen may have the provider type in their age instead of birthday. There's a provide in NYC who says he's 27 and has been on the site since 2008. Means he start escorting when he was 12 or younger lol. I hired him in 2013 and he said he was 27 then and had to be early 30s at the youngest back then

I've been doing a lot of 28 day treasury ladders with my money. set up so one is being bought and redeemed every week so if something comes up I'll have access to the money right away. Interest rate is around 5.25 and really nice thing is I live in a state with absurd state taxes so I'm not paying state income tax on the money so it's coming up to be well over six percent if I take that into account

Also wondering what happened to him. I'm in NYC next weekend and would love to hire him.

10 recipes to make after apple picking
handiacefailure replied to samhexum's topic in What's Cooking
My favorite is apple pancakes using my vitamix recipe. -
Yeah that's the one. I thought it was a great movie and was really sad when I learned it was based on a true story.

I really wanted to hire Connor Macguire but he hasn't had an ad up for a few years and hasn't done videos in a long time. Jeremiah Cruze is a ginger I'd love to hire who is in vegas but he's never in town when I'm there. My favorite ginger hire was jasmorgan

I played with him two years ago. Great guy. back then he had two small kids (I think a boy and a girl). wonder if he has a third kid now. I went on last night to send him a message to see if he wanted to hook up again and his profile recently expired and he hasn't been on in months. Not sure if it's ok to text him or not since I have his number.

I"m thinking of cutting the cord with Direct. I can get all the network channels in fine with an HD antenna I just place in my condo window. And with the live tv channels I also get subchannels direct doesn't have like Antena tv. And the writers strike and no new shows is making the decision easier, about the only network TV I watch anymore is the local news. I have Netflix and Amazon Prime. I have Hulu and Peacock for free with the AmEx $20 streaming credit benefit and I get Paramount Plus also courtesy of AmEx with the free walmart plus benefit. So I have all three networks covered for streaming when the strike finally ends. About the only thing I'll miss is the DVR but I can do catch up on the streaming services, I just have to sit through commercials since I have the basic service for all my streaming. My samsung tv also has a bunch of free built in streaming channels.

I bought a used Camry my final year in college and was nervous because it had 70K miles I was told that was barely breaking the car in and I kept it for five years and had almost 140K miles on it when I traded it in. Only issue I had was the brake cylindar and there was some kind of recall on it so the dealershp was able to get it pushed through on the recall. I made the mistake of buying a dodge omni one time because I was in a financial situation and wanted to save money. Worse mistake ever. That car was always breaking down.

If they aren[t under a contract right now they may be able to move. Not sure if any contracts in place have agreements requiring plants to remain in a state through a certain date or not. Even if they move to a right to work state, if it's a former big three plant they would stiill have to use union labor and be under the UAW's contract. Might make sense to move out of Michigan though for other reasons like lower taxes (especially if they can get tax abatements), utilities, needing new plants because the old one are obsolete, etc.

My dad managed a grocery store that he retired from that was a regional chain. The employees weren't paid as good as autoworkers but had company paid family health care and didn't have to pay any of the premiums and did get a pension and the pay rate back in the 90s was around $17 an hour for a cashier which is decent money in this part of the country back then and is more than what most Walmart cashiers make now. Chain folded a couple years after my dad retired and he saw the writing on the wall. Walmart came into the area and the union workers insisted on big raises and didn't want to pay any of their health insurance premiums when their contract was up and my dad said Walmart would put them out of their business since it was hard to compete with their lower prices and he was right. He always had a saying when places went on strike "pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered" The domestic car industry has a lot of competition now that didn't exist in the 70s.

I remember those pics but he didn't mention kink. And I think he's shaved more than a few years off his age.
