  1. Joseph Kramer founded the Body Electric School in the 80s. This is the current iteration of his online presence https://www.orgasmicyoga.com/ The website, like his many videos, is distinctly "homegrown" in style. It contains offerings for many tastes, only some of which may be of interest. The school itself is still active, although it's passed through several hands and various personnel changes over the years. It offers workshops in mostly big coastal cities. The work that they teach has evolved somewhat, but it's still based on the original blend of AIDS-era reclamation of eros for gay men, New Age pan-spirituality and co-opted Eastern "Taoist" philosophy. Definitely not for everyone, but may be of value to the seeker. http://www.thebodyelectricschool.com/
  2. I've taken a teaspoon of sugar-free Metamucil in water every day for 20+ years. I also eat a lot of other dietary fiber and drink a lot of water. That comes to about $0.16/day, although you could buy the same generic from any of the major retailers for less than that. I'm not much of a bottom, and properly cleaning out takes more effort in any case -- no single product or practice can ensure the lower digestive tract is empty and clean, it takes a multi-pronged approach. Wildly overpriced capsules are, at best, a pricey placebo.
  3. Jake Deckard is definitely still in the business. Splits his time between NYC and LA. http://jakesbodyworks.squarespace.com/#modern-organic-thai

    WTF?

Sounds like a great doc! Gotta say I'm loving electronic communications in this realm. I log onto the patient portal and get test results and doctor comments as soon as they're available. No phone calls, unless the doc considers it necessary. Very efficient and informative. I always hated, "I'll call you if anything's wrong."
  5. A clarification re the Gilead Copay Program, for which PrEP prescriptions are eligible EXCEPT the following as quoted from the program's website: the card is valid only for patients with commercial insurance and is not valid for prescriptions that are eligible to be reimbursed: in whole or part, by medicare, medicaid or a medicare part d plan, tricare, va, dod, puerto rico government health insurance plan ("healthcare reform"), or any other federal or state-funded healthcare benefit program (collectively, "government programs") or by commercial plans or other health or pharmacy benefit programs that reimburse for the entire cost of prescription drugs.
  6. Keep in mind that midtown through the Village area of Manhattan that is home to almost all gay bars in the city isn't THAT big, and is easily accessed by 24-hr. subway and cabs (and Uber, Lyft, etc.). No need to limit yourself to the area immediately around your hotel. The more important question is what kind of bar scene are you looking for? They come is many varieties.

  8. I've also hired Jake a number of times and always found him to be notably professional in his contacts and easy to book. I wonder if this was the first time you had tried to contact him, or had you had an exchange with him some time in the past that he might have experienced as negative? Many pros do keep a "no fly list" of potential or actual clients with whom they no longer wish to engage for whatever reason.
