As others have pointed out it's definitely a scam. The trend that's growing is guys who have followings on Twitter, Instagram etc directing folks to OF to "chat with them." Usually because on those other platforms they get a lot of messages so to weed out the nonsense it's easier to direct them to pay for OF. Also a lot of guys are using agencies to run their OF account so you're speaking to an A.I. bot anyways.

I was in town for pride two years ago. It was a first for me. Very overwhelming (in a good way) with so many guys out and about in the West Village, Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen. Hoards of beautiful men everywhere. Pretty much the usual go-to bars, clubs, play spaces were all super busy. The only events I took part in was jockstrap night at The Eagle during the main pride week, a few days before the parade. I think it was a Wednesday or Thursday night. Like many places, The Eagle was jam packed that night. I met a rich divorced dad with kids from Germany that night, who I'm still in contact with today. Aside from The Eagle, I checked out the main parade. As someone posted above it was a bit tough to move around, I checked it out for like an hour and left. My personal highlight during that week were my regular visits to 'The Blue' (RIP)...overpacked day, night and overnight. So many guys, pornstars from all over the world in a sleazy sex shop-bookstore. Good times.

How's that weird? It's totally normal for providers to be on Grindr and other hookup apps. 1. They have lives that includes casual sex too 2. A lot of providers use Grindr to promote other types of work (Rentmen, OnlyFans) 3. Tying in with the previous points, some providers use Grindr directly to find clients. Even when they're on there for personal fun, many get $ offers for hookups anyways.

Yeah, I understand. It was all a last minute rush pretty much so nothing was discussed before meeting. In general I personally avoid "Ask Me" providers since it general means very minimal things and lots of "a la carte" tiers.

Ok, the upcharge makes more sense now lol. That was a key part left out. Considering the "Ask Me" under 'Position' and 'Orientation' categories he's the "open-minded," "straight" guy that is fine with Top roles, just not bottom, servicing roles...which is extra. It's something that has been popping up more in recent years. I chalked it up to Gen-Z'ers treating this business more like Grindr now. When I've encountered the request I just move on. I know one provider here in NYC, beloved by many forum members on here, that asks for pictures. Yup. 1000%.
