Unfortunately the pool of dancers has been decimated by OnlyFans -- the hottest boys can pull in a lot of dough sitting at home making videos and never have to deal with groping hands in a club environment.

Interesting, yet troubling report from Johnsons...and in line with what I experienced in Montreal last week, i.e. the caliber of the dancers is on the decline and the sustainability of these clubs is in question.
I thought Matt would have been more successful in revitalizing Johnsons with his return.  I do like Lucas -- and hope he sticks around.  There was another bodybuilder from Argentina who was at Johnsons when I was there recently with several tats.

Just got home from Sat. night at Johnsons. The club had a good crowd when I arrived just before midnight despite the lack of a/c downstairs. Upstairs was a little cooler but only a few customers & dancers were hanging out there. As I was leaving at 2:00 the crowd downstairs was even bigger.
I noticed that the music volume upstairs was a lot lower than it used to be. The new DJs or the new manager must be responsible. Either way, I appreciate it because it's much easier to have conversations upstairs at the VIP bar.
I had an enjoyable couple of hours at the club and I know a few dancers made a lot of money while I was there. (There may be a connection between those two things, I'll have to think about that tomorrow.) 😜

I happened to be in Montreal last week and attended that Glo night at Campus - $15 cover - much ado about not much -- there were lots of giggling girls drawing designs on the dancer's bodies with glo markers - that was the extent of it.  If you are referring to Zane, there was a dancer there by the name who was compact Quebecois muscle boy with very fair pale skin and dark black wavy hair - he didn't dance that night, but only did lap dances.  Finally, on Sunday night Zane came on stage and did the full monty--very nice package.   Fabio has a good personality and is one of the few taller muscle boys there. He is very popular in the back room for good reason.

I feel like the male strip club is a dying business concept.  COVID didn't help things but the decline had already started before the pandemic.  The internet opened up the on-line escort advertising concept.  That hurt the stripping business to a certain degree.  Then the advent of sites like OF came around and hurt the stripping business even more by syphoning off some of the hottest new talent.   The quality of guys dancing at strip clubs has been in a slow decline for more than 10 years.  I was just in FTL over the weekend and spent three nights going to Johnson's.  None of the newer guys were even remotely interesting even though one of the nights there were over 40 guys dancing.  There were more fem twinks dancing at Johnson's than I had ever seen before.   Yes some of the attractive longer-term dancers are still there but some of them are pushing the envelope age-wise.  If the male strip clubs cannot attract young attractive talent, they are destined to eventually fail IMHO.  I'm not interested in going to a male strip club if there aren't hunky masculine muscle guys there.   Why would I spend money to go to a club to watch average looking fem guys dancing on-stage?
I wonder if female strip club are suffering as well?

Back from 4 nights in Montreal -- good, bad and ugly (in the eyes of the beholder).  I went to to both Campus and Stock on Thursday night.  Campus has a decent line up of athletic guys, some of whom can also hold your attention with their pole gymnastics, but none were as stunning the dancers from the past.   The line-up was the consistent the four nights I was there with little variation.  Almost half of the dancers were Latino or non-French Canadian.  More surprsingly was that the dancers didn't all come out naked for their 2nd song on stage, which was customary before.  And more distressingly, the number of female patrons was at least 30% on Friday and Saturday nights, and as has been noted, the dancers gravitate toward the shreiking girls in the audience.  The vibe at Campus has changed along with the gay village itself...there were many more younger patrons on the weekend nights, but they seemed less interested in the dancers on stage than the older patrons were.  Unfortunately, the younger crowd doesn't seem to be there for the spectacle of swinging dicks and hot bodies on stage.  Sunday was very slow, and one of the dancers I spoke with said he dances at Campus on Thurs - Sun, and does Only Fans the other nights of the week - so the trend isn't looking good for live 7 days a week nude entertainment.
As for Stock, I ventured in on Thursday to see the "Boys Boys Boys" they advertise on their neon sign above the lobby, only to be met with two performers on stage who were definitely not boys...but rather boys who identify as women dressed in S&M leather gear.  It wasn't my cup of tea so I left and returned to Campus almost immediately.  I decided to give a second chance to Stock on Saturday night and they had male dancers who were mostly average looking.  There was one who did a Cirque du Soleil inspired pole dance, and was quite good, but I'm not going to a strip bar for circus acts.  There were also bachelorette parties in the club which made the whole vibe less than appealing.  Stock is nothing like it was in its heyday or even worth a trip to Montreal in my opinion anymore.  Sadly, the new owners have completely strayed so far, that is is unrecognizable as the pantheon it once was for perusing the male physique.

Thanks for the report, man. What a bummer. I’ve got a July weekend booked, but honestly, that doesn’t sound too promising.
Stock Bar is a lost cause. I went twice last year, and calling the dancers ‘average’ is being generous. Even with an eye for it, you can tell when a guy’s hot enough to turn heads, or when they have some non-binary dancers. Plus, the patrons were mostly women; I just walked out. Not even a drink was worth it.
Really sucks about Campus. Last summer, it was great. But I get it—there’s been a shift toward less attractive guys and more women. The last live show I saw on IG was a dancer giving a lap dance to a screaming bachelorette, with most of the crowd around the stage being women. Whatever happened to Lady’s Night only? Don’t they have their own clubs?
Luckily, I’ve got a couple of regulars in Montreal who are my type, so worst case, I can still host for them. I just need to make sure they can make time for me. But I’ll definitely miss those nights at Campus of having a drink, enjoying the vibe, and chatting with a hot guy pre or post back dance. Some people blame OnlyFans, but OF isn’t the money maker they make it out to be. These days, they don’t make that much anyway. At least you’re a superstar or a woman. Even with $5 subscription promos and leaks happening way too easily, it’s not what it used to be. I used to subscribe to a few OF guys, but after a while, they got lazy and kept reusing the same videos. so no more OF
Oh, and I know Fabio/Biglo. Met him back in the Stock Bar days—super nice guy with a great attitude.. Last time I saw him was at Campus. Sigh… I’ll definitely miss those Stock Bar days. Some of the most stunning guys I ever saw were from there. Even Taboo used to have that alternative/skater vibe, but now… last time I walked into Taboo, it wasn’t that great

You will probably find some appealing dancers at Campus -- there are still a few muscular jock boys left and at least many of the dancers put on a good show.  Fabio is among the best for lap dances and did say he will do privates off premises.   I think the stunning A-List guys can make enough with Only Fans, which account for the predominance of B-List dancers left on stage these days.  One of the dancers told me that law has changed in Montreal to require that women be permitted in the clubs every day of the week.  Sounds like you have a few guys in your private stock which is a good thing too.
I didn't try Taboo, but the reviews on google made it sound like the skater boys have vanished there.

When I lived in NYC part time (90s & early aughts), I went to the Gaiety dozens of times.  I loved the big finale on weekends, when they had all dozen dancers come out on stage sporting hard-ons … the most beautiful spectacle I’ve ever witnessed.

Good roster of gents, including several very appealing new gents who were lots of fun.

When I got there (earlier than usual), the ratio of gents to patrons was a bit skewed (three "dancers" to every one patron). This imbalance always brings the energy down and makes the aggressive guys even more persistent. But things were much more balanced by the time I left (around 11) and the energy was definitely picking up.

My only/main complaint? There were far fewer places to sit than usual.

But I had a very nice time.
