  1. I

I seem to recall there was somebody named 'scottishrod' who posted here. He retired though. Or maybe he came back. Worth checking out.

I'm still lurking a bit, but no longer advertising and not living in Scotland.

  2. As has been mentioned in a couple of other threads, I've begun to retire from advertising. This is largely because of an exciting new job I have that is taking up most of my time. Since I have so little free time now it seems silly to spend it on here arguing with people I don't know, so it's time for me to sign off permanently!

Thanks to those I've met or chatted to. Also, thanks to Daddy. This forum has been useful for my occasional forays into escorting in the US, and some of the threads and fellow members have been eye opening!

I'm amenable to keeping in touch with some people elsewhere, so I'll keep checking messages for a couple of days. Otherwise, ciao!

  3. Look, it was one of the other SJWs on the this thread who decided on some other soapbox that this was "rape" (which it's not, btw, not by a long shot, no matter how often the falsehood is repeated).

Of course this will vary by jurisdiction, but in the UK at least this could rise to the level of rape:

    https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2003/42/part/1/crossheading/rape

    "1 Rape

(1)A person (A) commits an offence if—

(a)he intentionally penetrates the vagina, anus or mouth of another person (B) with his penis,

(b)B does not consent to the penetration, and

©A does not reasonably believe that B consents.

(2)Whether a belief is reasonable is to be determined having regard to all the circumstances, including any steps A has taken to ascertain whether B consents."

Obviously this would hinge on whether the masseur believed that the OP consented and, if so, whether or not that belief was reasonable. The comments in this thread demonstrate that at least some would not consider such a belief to be reasonable in this context. You presumably think otherwise.

  4. No, it's not victim blaming. It's victim advice. You seem unable to parse a sentence. But I'm happy to throw you the red ego meat you want - you are SO RIGHT about that HORRIBLE MASSEUR. But the thing is he's SO HORRIBLE - and other masseurs are SO HORRIBLE - that people who "freeze" once they've lain down naked in front of them SHOULD NOT DO THAT. Because they're rapists!!! Rape, rape, it's rape. Rape.

No doubt your “advice” will be very useful.

  5. "Victim blaming" . . . is that all you got? Because I think you're selling it in the wrong shop. We're not talking about someone falling asleep. (Although you'd have to be sleeping pretty deeply to not be awakened by anal penetration.) But actually, that's irrelevant, isn't it - it's just troll bait. My advice is that if you're unable to defend yourself from an aroused man, then it's not a good idea to lie down naked in front of one. I'll completely grant you that the masseur was an evil rapist who should be, I don't know, roasted on a spit and then eaten by social justice warriors. But it's still a bad idea to step into a nude massage if you can't handle yourself. I know Blanche Dubois depended on the kindness of strangers. But Blanche Dubois ended up in the nuthouse.

This is pretty much the definition of victim blaming. If you think that’s a reasonable thing to do, have at it, but don’t reject the perfectly appropriate description of what you are doing.

  6. I am shocked, to be honest. Isn't it illegal in London? The authority certainly knows this place...

Prostitution isn’t fundamentally illegal, but profiting from a prostitute’s earnings is illegal, and therefore brothels are illegal. The Metropolitan Police recognise that well run brothels benefit both the prostitutes and public order so some are tolerated. That said there is a constant push by many to adopt the Nordic model thus criminalising clients, which could well threaten such establishments.

  7. I once had a co-worker who was Scottish. She was married to an American and had lived here in the USA for many years. She told the story that when her brother turned 18 he went off to London to seek work. She said that he soon returned home because he said that his accent was so thick that no one could understand him.

A lot of Scots also talk faster than the English, which can amplify the problem.

  8. I completely understand your point ... and although you are technically correct.... this whole dynamic of specifically requesting sex has ruined the innuendo, and metaphysical aspects of courting that used to make sexual interactions hot.... Now I’ve literally had a guy wanting me to confirm allowing him to fuck me via text... soon we’re going to start issuing permission slips to have sex.. and it’s such a mood killer

I don't think that whispering "want to get fucked?" in the guy's ear needs to ruin the mood. It can be done sexily.

  9. I can appreciate that some people take that stance, but it was never mine. I liked sex too much, maybe. It's difficult for me to understand that people would approach "paid" vs. "unpaid" with a different attitude other than "fuck yeah!"

Fair enough. I also feel able to be a little more selfish when having unpaid sex. There’s usually less expectation on my partner’s part.

  10. Variable quality sex, exposure to potentially dangerous situations, possible arrest and criminal record (depending on jurisdiction), exposure to STIs, less money than one might expect, especially in light of the time spent arranging each meet... I could go on listing the disbenefits for an hour or more. I enjoy escorting, which is why I’m continuing to meet some regulars in my semi-retirement, but it would be misguided to think that escorts don’t earn their fees.

My sister-in-law's mother was English and made outstanding trifle. She always served it at Christmas. She made the sponge cake, the custard, the whipped cream and put it all together and let it refrigerate for quite a long time. It had some sort booze in it but I don't remember what.

Probably sherry, if it was traditional. I find a little Kirsch added to the whipped cream significantly improves a trifle.

  12. From the linked article:

"...the average price of a movie ticket has risen from $5.06 in 1999 to $8.97 in 2017, and the average cost of a liter of wine has risen from $5.09 to $12.38."

I've been all over the US, and I question where you're getting movie tickets for less than $9.

I got a movie ticket and a game of bowling for $5 in Vegas earlier this year. I guess places like that drag down the average.

  13. That's my understanding, as well. Since this is "British" foods (i.e., from the island) and not "English" foods, it could have easily been included. I mean, they have haggis on their list for some reason.

Well, it’s a list of the “most” British, not “most universally loved”, so haggis qualifies. :)

  14. No scones? Chicken tika marsala (developed in England, not India)? No pasty? Welsh rarebit?

The creation story I’m aware of for Chicken Tikka Masala has it originating in Glasgow, Scotland, which has a large Indian community.

I’d definitely agree that the Cornish pasty should be included.
