One of the things that I love about this message board is that it’s always had a bit of the Wild West feeling.
We are, for the most part, left to our own devices. It’s rare and it’s something for which I am very thankful.

Anyways, since it seems being on a computer is almost your whole life maybe you should look into a forum for people with similar situation where people can actually help and you won't be so afraid to identify even which state you are in.

An apt observational piece of advice I heard a couple of days back, 'Don't look back, you're not going that way'.

Hello Guys! This is long overdue but I felt it was time to try and interact up here as well as give a low down on some things about me and maybe clear up some stuff. Someone even said my ad was fake which gave me a laugh as I am real and breathing!!!
 
For any that don't know me I am Brian Strowkes, actor for many sites in the past such as Next Door, Active Duty, Kink , Dirty Tony, and more... I am based in Vegas not any of the small cities my ad sometimes says like Rapid City, etc ( this is because in Vegas there is either a LEO or Jealous Escort posing as so and harrasing prominent guys in the city) I love meeting new people so please reach out if you are coming to the area, I may just be around. I constantly travel to LA, SF, DC, Palm Spring, Denver, PHX, Philly, NYC, Boston, Ohio, Chicago, Baltimore, Raleigh, Miami, Texas, Salt Lake, Pittsburgh, Buffalo/Niagara Falls and a few others also.
 
This brings me to my next point the people who despite not even meeting get up here and try to bad mouth me... I am not a flake and besides the rare emergency that comes up in life you can guarantee I will be there if treated with respect during communication. With that being said I kind of wanted to break down some of the things that are off putting for me when communicating with prospective dates and also just some generals things about me:
 
1. If you just message "Hi" initially (that's it just Hi), I used to reply but just realized 99% of these aren't serious and waste time. If you are the serious 1% please just please introduce yourself a little more.
 
2. You fail to read my interests that are clearly listed on the profile and continue to ask unnecessary questions.
 
3. " How much for sex" or any similar explicit question is going to instantly sketch me out.. I am available for my time .
 
4. If I provide you with my donation for time and you come back in a offensive low ball manner and derogatory comment.
 
5. I always can usually host or travel when in a city for the same rate for time both ways.
 
6.Asking for more pictures or more explicit/private photos... My ad photos are current and nude mostly.. and are also listed by date. I haven't gotten fat ( This is the funniest question I get asked)
 
7. I may be kind of straight forward when setting up but if we confirm expect a sweet sweet southern boy to show up. I have to weed out the aggressive and rude dates as I prefer to not meet them for my safety.
 
8. I wrestle or play tennis tournaments while traveling usually so sometimes I do just get busy and can't reply instantly like some expect.. Sorry guys life happens but I also try to get back ASAP!!

Canton is the name that westerners use, derived (I believe) from the Cantonese version of the name Guangdong (the province). Guangzhou is the name of the city, but we have used the name Canton for both. Thankfully, no one uses Xiang Gang instead of Hong Kong or Ao Men instead of Macau. That would confuse us too much.

Mandarin is as different from Cantonese as English is from French. The difference is the writing system is shared and mutually understood. (As is Japanese if it is written only in Kanji.) What we call Mandarin is the 'standard' and official language. 'Dialect' is a misnomer.

This discussion got me curious about the Guangzhou verses Canton if they were the same city. Seems like it is with a similar history to the Beijing verses Peking.

The different pronunciations in English are based on Anglophone ignorance. 'Peking' is the way of rendering the name of the city in the Latin alphabet using the French post office romanisation system. The creators of that spelling would have pronounced it Beijing.

And it is colloquially referred to as 'Bei Da', a contraction of Beijing Daxue.


The Eastern Capital is usually pronounced using the local dialect, which is rendered in English as 'Tokyo'.

The spelling Beijing was adopted for use within China upon the approval of Hanyu Pinyin on February 11, 1958, during the Fifth Session of the 1st National People's Congress.
 
'Peking' or 'Puk Ing' is the Cantonese Chinese pronunciation of 'Northern Capital'.
 
Both names are valid in Chinese although 'Beijing' is more commonly used since there are more non-Cantonese speakers than there are Cantonese speakers in China.
