In an oral history of the event published by Billboard in 2015, award-winning songwriter Diane Warren recalls Mitchell being a fixture on the outside balcony, where she would often be seen smoking. Among the guests who RSVP'd yes to the 2017 edition of the Davis function were Britney Spears, Neil Diamond, Chance the Rapper, Maxwell, Jennifer Hudson, Taraji P. Henson, Michael Keaton, Quincy Jones, Metallica, Stevie Wonder, Jeremy Renner and Ryan Seacrest as well as industry executives Sir Lucian Grainge (chairman, Universal Music Group), Doug Morris (Sony Music CEO), Len Blavatnik (owner, Warner Music Group), Apple CEO Tim Cook and CBS chief Les Moonves.

Maybe others in the group can validate this: I had a friend living in LA who described Zak Spears as a nightmarish attention-whore and major diva in the LA and WEHO gay club scene, particularly in his porn prime and a few years past it. I don't think it would be out of line to ask if he's willing to play without the PA. He might say that it's not his preference, which is a reasonable response. Most guys I've met with those types of piercings were comfortable with them in or out. I knew of one guy who preferred to keep his PA in only because it was a tricky piercing and reinserting it was difficult.
