Collin needed an editor before posting his response. Grammatical errors aside, I doubt an attorney would allow his or her client to post threats. Collin might want to reconisder to whom his $5,000.00 should go; a different type of counselor (as opposed to legal) comes to mind. No sarcasm intended.

I hope these comments have helped you sort through this painfully complex transition. You might consider having someone accompany you when you return to your home, not only for moral (and morale) support, but to serve as a witness in case your ex-boyfriend accuses you of any number of things later on. Don't forget to breathe, and rely on the strength of your convictions and friends.

I wonder if Avalon has difficulty with filters; he reminds me of a middle schooler who would blurt first and then, sometimes, apologize later. I offer that as an explanation rather than an excuse. Seventh graders don't always know better, but adults usually do, so the lack of discretion often becomes a major concern.

I've adapted that to, "I'll try not to impose my standard of grief or mourning onto another person." As a physician, perhaps your colleague second guesses himself both as a family man and as a doctor. I hope he seeks professional help as he and his wife process this perplexing transition.
