  1. I went last week and had a very good experience. Very nice, clean, and friendly personnel. I had Nelson, a young, nice looking Asian who have me a good massage.
  2. Further to my rant yesterday. Cody in Dallas is excellent! Therapeutic only but gives a very good thorough massage for a great price. https://www.masseurfinder.com/massage-therapists/40295/
  3. Thank you! This is very helpful. I have been to a Tristan and he is excellent.
  4. Hi everyone: I hope you will all forgive me but I need to vent. The last few times I have been to Dallas for business and hired a masseur to relieve stress and just enjoy some down time have been complete and utter disasters. The ones that l’ve hired before are either no longer around or not available or distance doesn’t allow time in Dallas traffic. The few I have hired based on ads on RM and MF have all been horrifically bad. No skills, I mean zero skills…not just a little skill. Not like pictures. Rude. Rushed. Eager for things I don’t want or ask for as if I’m there to serve them. And never give thé full time. One after the other. All the same and way too expensive for this kind of nonsense. Either there is something in the massage water or I haven’t been to the right one yet. Anyway. I know this is a « live and learn » kind of experience, YMMV applies, but still… what I have experienced is more like a string of really bad luck (or bad hires). If there are any new guys you have tried that aren’t like the above, PM me. Anyway, thanks for listening.
  5. Got it! Thanks for the info. I suspected what you all confirmed.
  6. Anyone try this guy? I’ve seen his ad for a while but can’t find a thread on him.. https://rentmasseur.com/Scanditouch
  7. Pasha is Ukrainian I believe and he is excellent (now up on the East side). https://rentmasseur.com/PashaNYC
  8. Yes they are great. Used to be up in my neck of the woods in NYC but are in Pittsburgh I see now.
  9. Alex is the best. Have seen him multiple times when he was traveling.
  10. I am very thankful we are discussing this because many of us want a genuinely good massage for health, relaxation, connection, and intimacy. We work hard, negotiate difficult things in our jobs and personal lives, and need a good safe reliable space to unwind and take care of our needs. We don’t need our massage space to another complicated thing to add stress. The thing is what we need (and it varies) is out there. We have experienced it. But it’s getting more complicated to find it with the added increase in costs and health risks. The lure of a new young hot body is out there (and we love it of course) but it only goes so far and sometimes not far at all, if anywhere. We need the deeper more lasting connections that are affordable and reliable. Again, thank you to all of you and this site that help us navigate. K
  11. I agree. There are still some good ones out there and the clues to the not so good or bad ones are sometimes evident in the ads as @Jamie21 described. Sticking with the tried and true who know how to do a good massage is more what I am doing as well.
  12. Thank you and I love your honesty. Greatly appreciated. I share your frustration with the inconsistency while at the same time agreeing that there have been many excellent experiences along the way as well. Something like massage that has so many forms and varieties and is so personal and involves touch and varied physical reactions even to that is bound to be a frustrating experience at some point. This forum is a marvel at helping to pair down significantly those experiences and hires that are likely to be disappointing. In my journey, I’ve run across those few who consistently give me a great value for the money. I tend to stick with those and experiment less with the YMMV type. The thrill of the unknown is getting more expensive and not as worth it.

This has happened to me before and it’s a pain. I always communicate via email first and then text as has been suggested in the thread.
  14. If you have doubts, don’t. Your inner peace is as important as the physical pleasure of massage (imho)
  15. I’ve tried several times to contact him but no response. Anyone know if he is still active?
  16. Yes and I would say it can feel dehumanizing. Better not at all if it’s “mechanical.”
  17. Thank all of you for sharing these experiences and perspectives. I recently hired a RentMasseur masseur who delivered as advertised $180 for 60min. The massage was average (not bad), with the extras appropriate to the overall cost. I texted a short note of appreciation after the session not expecting a response. He the texted back thanking me for the note and saying that he offered “full service” if I wanted to come again later in the week. We were both traveling, it wasn’t possible, and I didn’t want to spend any more $$. A couple of months later, I was in that masseur’s city and texted for availability and asked what the full service option was. He texted back that it was $500 and all that came with it, clearly an escort deal which I was not interested in and too rich for me. I politely texted thank you but the price was too high for me. He then came down considerably, which was nice, but it just felt a bit awkward and not quite “au fait” with what the reduced price included, and after all that I didn’t even know what I wanted anymore, so I declined. But better this than the upsell on the table which I cannot abide.
  18. Yep. Definitely strange and something is not right there.
  19. Well yes and in my experience, it is hard to find a good, actually well trained masseur, no matter what the sign says. I’ll take a good non-formally-trained masseur (body rub guy) if he’s good at what he does. But at least here it seems there is no pretense of portraying the experience as more than it is.
  20. That is super frustrating especially when you just made the appointment. That guy sounds like he just wanted to do something else that day but didn’t want to say that and so used a lame excuse about “not confirming.” Who knows? I’m sorry that happened to you. I’ve had providers cancel on me last minute for reasons I felt (knew?) were bogus but I could not prove it and so didn’t want to risk falsely accusing someone.
  21. Hope to join this year and meet many of you! Sounds amazing!! I am appreciative of all those who are organizing!
