  1. Agree with @questbear and I will say that I’ve had exceptional massage service at one or two local spas that were well deserving of tips especially because the provider only gets a fraction of what’s one pays. What’s wild is that a superior massage and excellent treatment including a generous tip from some spa providers is less than half the cost of what some expensive individual masseurs who provide less than half the skill and half the treatment. On the other hand I have two individual “go to” private masseurs who are exceptional and deserving of their fee plus tip. All this to say, it takes time and some experience to figure out what works for you and where you can find the value and price point you are looking for. Hence the value of this forum to help figure that out.
  2. I would also ad Pasha to the list. I’ve seen him several times (including last week) and the massage is second to none. Upper East side and a bit pricey at $230 for 90min but you get everything in the 90min and he never shorts on time. https://rentmasseur.com/PashaNYC
  3. Yes I have been several times to the new Shangrila Spa location and it’s great.
  4. Omg is this place for real?!? How are they even in business. New owners?
  5. Yes! Welcome to the forum Marco! 😊
  6. This is a good one… same as Chaosmen Glenn and Vander
  7. This has always been a favorite from Chaosmen. Glenn and Vander
  8. Yes I have had experience with him but it was pre-covid when he was traveling through. Both times were good experiences. When I saw him, he looked like his pictures. Was muscular, a very nice guy, and received his clients in a very high end hotel. I didn’t know what happened to him until I saw this thread. PM me if you want more details.
  9. This is an interesting topic. I was once told at.fairly good spa that the minimum tip for a 90Min massage was $30. The massage was just under $100. It was weird because while tipping is part of our culture I work often in cultures where tipping is either considered rude or is not expected. At any rate, it’s appropriate to tip at a spa because—as many have said—- the provider only gets a fraction of the fee. But when one is going to a private residence or facility for an already expensive massage, tip should be for something special I think. I never mind tipping generously for each ellent service. But when the massage is “meh” and nothing stands out and the price is already high, then maybe that is different. Still it’s good to give something in recognition of effort unless it ia just horrible or the provider cheats you substantially on time. For me that is a variation of 15 min or more.
  10. Thanks for saving me a disappointing experience. He is hot in his new pics but not worth those dollars. I got the eye candy for free.
  11. M Star Spa? In NYC? PM with any details.
  12. In my view we have all reached a point where we really don’t need any kind of condescending moments or body shaming when we pay increasingly high prices to just relax and escape the stress we already have. We all have our quirks but I don’t want to pay for any more of them than I have to. Haha.
  13. This guy was a terrible provider and should be avoided. Looks like most of you have.
  14. Ah ok, thanks. Good to know. Are these two different establishments run by two different proprietors or just two locations of the same establishment? Just so I understand… thank you
  15. I went last week and had a very good experience. Very nice, clean, and friendly personnel. I had Nelson, a young, nice looking Asian who have me a good massage.
  16. Further to my rant yesterday. Cody in Dallas is excellent! Therapeutic only but gives a very good thorough massage for a great price. https://www.masseurfinder.com/massage-therapists/40295/
  17. Thank you! This is very helpful. I have been to a Tristan and he is excellent.
  18. Hi everyone: I hope you will all forgive me but I need to vent. The last few times I have been to Dallas for business and hired a masseur to relieve stress and just enjoy some down time have been complete and utter disasters. The ones that l’ve hired before are either no longer around or not available or distance doesn’t allow time in Dallas traffic. The few I have hired based on ads on RM and MF have all been horrifically bad. No skills, I mean zero skills…not just a little skill. Not like pictures. Rude. Rushed. Eager for things I don’t want or ask for as if I’m there to serve them. And never give thé full time. One after the other. All the same and way too expensive for this kind of nonsense. Either there is something in the massage water or I haven’t been to the right one yet. Anyway. I know this is a « live and learn » kind of experience, YMMV applies, but still… what I have experienced is more like a string of really bad luck (or bad hires). If there are any new guys you have tried that aren’t like the above, PM me. Anyway, thanks for listening.
  19. Got it! Thanks for the info. I suspected what you all confirmed.
  20. Anyone try this guy? I’ve seen his ad for a while but can’t find a thread on him.. https://rentmasseur.com/Scanditouch
  21. Agree. Dreadful.
  22. Pasha is Ukrainian I believe and he is excellent (now up on the East side). https://rentmasseur.com/PashaNYC
  23. Yes they are great. Used to be up in my neck of the woods in NYC but are in Pittsburgh I see now.
  24. Alex is the best. Have seen him multiple times when he was traveling.
  25. No. Just. No.
