  1. It has nothing to do with my lack of compassion for the plight of masseurs, who by the way -- at an average of about $160 an hour in NYC -- do pretty well for themselves generally as compared to the millions of people suddenly out of work who make far far less money. This is about the shared social health responsibility for all of us during this insane crisis. And anyone who isn't doing their part to keep this from getting horribly out of control is just being careless and selfish. Moreover, it's hard to argue with the fact that the physical intimacy and proximity of massage is on the high end of the risk spectrum and far from an essential service.

  2. This is the COVID-19 advisory on Masseurfinder per Samk:

Due to community restrictions and precautionary measures, massage therapists may not be available to provide services at this time. Please contact providers directly for updated hours and availability.

This is the advisory on the cityboys website:

Despite the immense negative economic consequences, we also support this measure, since there is a risk of corona infection in our industry. The intensive contact between the guest and the escort can very well result in infection by latent carriers of the virus.

We hope that if the infection curve wanes soon, business operations will be possible again from April 20, 2020. We will publish information in this regard as soon as we have it.

If a gay brothel in germany understands the risk, why are there some clients (as evidenced by discussion here) still seeing escorts?

The notice on MasseurFinder should be on their home page and the site should be disabled for the time being. They play a role here too; not just the masseurs themselves. It's frankly appalling. As for all of those masseurs who have still been advertising AVAILABLE NOW, yes I know you are hurting financially, but this is not about YOU right now. When this is over, I will remember those few who acted responsibly and suspended work and give them my business.

  3. masseur goes to crowded supermarket; masseur becomes infected without knowing it; masseur sees 10 clients in the following week while he is asymptomatic; masseur infects half or more of those clients, who each for a period of days before (or if) getting symptoms infects another 5 people...... or the reverse, the asymptomatic client makes an appointment with masseur, infecting him; masseur then passes it on unknowingly to half or more of his clients during the following week. This is a shared responsibility between clients and masseurs and the web sites that promote it. ALL NEED TO STOP NOW.

  4. The masseurs who continue to advertise; the clients who continue to book sessions; and the sites that continue to post ads are all acting incredibly selfishly, irresponsibly contributing to the possible expansion of infection. I completely get the hardship for masseurs, but it's no different than for tens of millions of Americans....the waiter, the bartender, the actor, the hair stylist, the hotel maid, and on and on. I personally could use a massage right now more than anytime in my life, and I don't even have much of a fear of getting infected from one, but THAT is not the point. The point is that we all have a role to play in slowing this down for the sake of others, for the sake of our health care system, which in many places is days away from catastrophe. Licensed massage therapists in most states have been ordered to stop indefinitely, and our community should be doing the same. If we're lucky - and I believe we will be - in 3-4 weeks we will start to see things improve, and then hopefully we can begin to resume life, and get our massages.

  5. Ian is 100% therapeutic only, but he's fantastic. Saw him when in the area last summer. He's fine without draping, but nothing sensual. I would absolutely repeat because the massage is really wonderful, and he's a sweet, shy, sexy guy. And a bargain price.

  6. He had been up to $160 an hour for a few weeks, which is crazy for the area for a strictly therapeutic one hour in call. Assume he was getting diminishing returns with that price point and is back down to $120. Curious if anyone else has tried him and their thoughts. I will say that if he offered therapeutic/sensual combo, I would go up to 180/200. As for the LGBT Friendly line, I give him a pass on that. I think MasseurFinder pushes new advertisers to stress that in their copy. I think it's also just his way of saying that as a straight guy, he's perfectly comfortable working on a gay man and it has no bearing on the massage.

  7. Had one session with him while he was still on East Coast. He is indeed handsome with a great build. Smart, nice guy who gives a very good (B-plus) massage on a table. Doesn't cheat on time, puts full effort into the session and delivers sensual elements as promised, but for some reason I found it all a little mechanical. But he definitely had potential to get better. I'd repeat if he lived in the area still.

  9. He is NOT using someone else's pictures. I haven't had a chance to make an appointment yet, but I've known him for awhile and confirmed with him on Facebook and his personal phone number that it's indeed him. He is in Spain now for a few weeks.

  10. Pretty sure he just has a strict policy about not making it sensual or sexual. Haven't seen him in awhile, but he used to be willing to do it nude for a mark-up, but it remained completely therapeutic. I think he's an absolute sweetheart and gives a fantastic massage though.

  11. Tried to set up a session with him last time I was in NYC but our schedules didn't synch. I did ask him if he could send me a current (non modeling) selfie for verification and he did immediately. He looked far more average in the selfie, but definitely the same guy. Have no idea if he's straight or not, but does seem to be therapeutic only.

  12. agreed. It was just that I hadn't seen him in a few years and forgot about the elbow usage and once he started using them on the most recent visit, I didn't want to ask him to stop. If/when I go back, I'd certainly mention it before the massage. He does great work and is a very nice, low-key guy.
