Is it meant to increase the food supply, or lower the cost to consumers. I remember being young, on my own, not making much money, and waiting for chicken drumsticks to go on sale for 10 cents a pound at Dominik's and stocking up.

My yearly PSA tests generally run low. There was a recent rise, but still in the normal range, along with higher WBC. Doc diagnosed it as Prostatitis rather than UTI. Not sure how my acquired Hypothyroidism being treated with 25 mcg Synthroid will fit into the mix. I’m glad doc will take time explaining it. I’ll sent the test result to him in advance. Thanks for all the good info. To be honest, I’m hoping TRT will help with my overall well being.

When I ordered the test online, it listed one, no differentiation. I’ll look at the remarks and read it again. It had very small paragraph, but the word total was in the text.

Prostate cancer was the prior doctor's biggest reason to not test. Fortunately, no history in my family.

Over the years, I've had low testosterone symptoms (fatigue, depression, weight gain, etc.). I once (about 15 years ago) asked my prior doctor about a testosterone test, and I inferred from his response that replacement therapy could cause more serious problems, so I never thought about it any more. Recently, I got an email from Quest, they were having a sale on medical tests. I ordered a STD panel, and noticed the Testosterone test was only $55, so added it onto my tests. Got back results, no STDs, but testosterone was 186. Been reading stuff on internet that replacement therapy may not be so bad. I've made an appointment with my current doctor to discuss.

Nothing fun about hiring when you leave feeling worse than when you arrived. Thankfully, that's only happened with a couple of providers. The others have been great, and I left feeling better than when I arrived.

When I first started getting them annually, the first uro used to use the long stiff rods inserted through my urethra, and would move it up and down and sideways to look. I'm sure people in the waiting room clearly heard my reaction. I skipped them for a few years, but my PCP got on my case to keep doing them. Found a new uro that used the flexible camera. Found out that had become the norm when I was still seeing the first guy. 2nd guy was the best at doing it. Virtually no pain, and no burning or blood after first trip(s) to the lav. However, he lacked a lot in other skills, so found a new guy. Unfortunately, new guy has become progressively more painful at doing it the last 3 years. The hunt is on for a new one before next year. At least I know to ask...do you hurt your patients?

I kind of like the variety of pricing levels out there. Sometimes it's not about what's charged. Some will tell you they're not a clock watcher, and the session goes beyond the hour. One I met was (at the time) 300 for one, 500 for two, and 600 for three hours, with varying rates for longer times. And, I've been quoted 2 times hourly rate for 2 hours, or a 90 minute rate at same $5 per minute price as the hourly rate (300 for hour / 60 X 90 = 450 for ninety minutes)

There may be some who prefer bigger guys. I'm short, barely 5' 6", and weigh 250 give or take 5-10 pounds, and I'm well into my 60's. Those I've met, who I really enjoyed, either told me in advance there was no judgement, or I felt was treated as well as anyone else.
