I don't think that I am being grandiose. I'm just saying that because I'm an atheist I have trouble with the concept of a higher power when it is interpreted as that being God. The Serenity Prayer begins with God. That's a turnoff for me. I prefer to think that my God is personal and the power to change is within myself. And I'm not saying I AM God or that I realm over over others. Now THAT is grandiosity!

Regardless of his malfunctioning elevator he was treated horribly.

He clearly has interpersonal issues but I don't think he's the only passenger who would have reacted similarly. Still the most important thing to remember is regardless of his personality United and the airport police were completely wrong in their handling of the situation.

My higher power is myself. I take responsibility for my actions. When I attend an Alanon or Codependents Anonymous meeting this is how I interpret the higher power concept.

I agree with you completely but it's impossible to know all this when all you see is a mugshot and the criminal charges.

If it was a violent crime I'd pass unless I knew that the escort was arrested but ultimately not convicted. Even then I'd be leery.

I understand their reason but recently I rode with a Lyft driver who told me that if he's just about through for the day he doesn't want to be surprised by a 45 minute one way fare. I sympathized with him and wouldn't want to be driven by a resentful driver.

Wasn't he selected randomly? If so this process should be changed. Upping incentives is the answer or at least choosing passengers who checked in last.
