I don't know if folks saw my teaser in the Lounge for the new review site, but with the new system we will have the capability to have multiple categories of things to review.  This will include things such as:
 
Inside of each category will be items (either a person or a place).  It's basically the thing being reviewed.  Each item depending on what category that it is in can have a set of questions/fields associated with it.  This allows us to ask different questions for each type of item being reviewed.  
Within each item will be the ability to have reviews.  Again, since different categories can have different types of needs, I can create different questions for the reviews themselves.  Think of the reviews as descriptions of the encounter.  You will have an item (aka the masseur) and then the item will have reviews that describe member's encounters.
Given the progress that is being made with the new review site, I'm ready to start figuring out what information we want to collect.  This is where I need your help!
I need to collect both the types of categories we want and what questions would be in the category.  For example:

I need to do this for both individual masseurs and for spas.  I would anticipate there would be different things you would want to know about a spa versus someone who is freelance. Let me know the types of info you think are critical to ask about both the item (person) and about the encounter itself.  

I agree. Those photos are spectacular.  He's so my type, if he's for real.  His ads don't include a phone number, which seems a little unusual.

I just had a 90 min massage with Phil at Batman (terrible name for a spa). For some reason he looked familiar so maybe he has worked elsewhere in the city . Phil is over 40 bold in very good shape but not really muscular . Shaved torso (and he is Chinese !). Nice guy very good energy and the massage was what I expected . A combination of deep controlled slow strokes and sensual elements . But the attention was always on the massage quality itself . That’s what I like about older mature masseurs . They know that they have to give a good massage. There was MT and HE. He claims that he doesn’t speak any English so communication is very limited . OK so I've checked out the new Batman Spa.   I had a massage by the manager, Tony who looks just as his picture.  It was a good massage and I felt pampered with several hot towels used for the neck and back towards the end of the hour.  Tony stayed fully dressed throughout the massage.  When I expressed that I like some mutual interaction with the masseur, he told me to come back on a Thursday or Friday when "Phil" is here and he will be open to that interaction.  Batman Spa is a nice sized place.  There's like 5 stations for mani and another 5 for pedi with the massage rooms in the back.  Completely private, comfortable sized rooms.  More than one bathroom in the place and the one near the massage rooms has a nice shower stall inside of it.  The spa is clean, tiled floors, modern.  They are wiling to rent out their massage rooms to an outside masseur to meet with their client.  The place has potential.  We need to give them business.

I can confirm that Andy is still in good shape and sexy at W Man Spa.  You will be massaged in his private room in the upstairs lair.  I was there last week to meet my masseur who rents out the special room.  W Man Spa is clean and well run by Andy.

This has been a recurring issue (for years now) with both RentMasseur and to some degree Masseurfinder. They don’t like to post negative reviews . This is another reason why we need this forum. Unfortunately one of us always has to take a blind chance  to be able to share the real experience . Basically those websites are just catalogs and you have to tryout the item to know if it’s as good as they say ..

It’s not because they are “self employed” that we should not tip.  If they are independent and only accept cash I don’t tip unless they are really amazing . If they take Zelle or other direct electronic payments it’s another story ..

Since I use both venmo and cash, I typically will tip between 10% to 25% of the session cost and will make my decision depending on how good the massage and overall experience was. And what do you know, it ends up being pretty similar to what WVChris mentioned with either a $20 or $40 tip lol.  
For the masseurs that give you a short massage, lasting between 30 to 45 mins and then give you a release, I don't bother tipping them. I would much rather tip the "rockstar" masseurs that give you full 60 or 90 mins you requested plus a release afterward. 

No tip required unless he truly bowls you over and you plan to return.

bump. Quoted me $200 as well for 60min. While I'm mostly open to trying new service providers at $150/hr, spending $200 and having a bad experience ruins my mood for the next few days.  

I just had a 60 min massage at alpha men spa with Andre (Andrea on the booking site of Shangrila and alpha men).  He is still learning but has very good hands and he is a very sweet 30 something skinny tall Brazilian that really wants to improve his skills and learn English . Keep the communication simple and give him a chance to get to know your body . My experience is based on the massage itself and getting to know him (I never spoke so much Portuguese during a massage). I wasn’t looking for anything sensual . I am sure he will keep improving and as a Brazilian he has the build in sensuality .
