Heterosexuality in animals is a reproductive process. Homosexuality is a process whereby two animals go through the actions of reproduction but while being fully aware that no reproduction is possible. So heterosexuality is easily explained but homosexuality not. I think studying the cause of homosexual behavior in animals would certainly be an interesting subject because homosexuality IS the exception, not the norm. There is no reproductive goal in homosexual activity, so the sexual activity lies outside nature's norm, for every species, which is reproduction.

I'm married with kids, but bisexual, so I am conscious of the gay scene, even when I'm not directly participating. Costa Rica's tourism is primarily resorts on the beach. Great for a couple's get away but there is no access to any kind of social scene outside the resort itself. The only gay hotels are tiny little guest house situations where at most you'll be there with a handful of other guys. The Capitol city is in the middle of the country far away from the beaches and the gay scene there is nothing to speak of, not to mention San Jose' is sort of a shit-hole of a city. They even have road signs near the downtown area warning you that you are entering a slum. Puerto Vallarta is great. I actually started going there many years ago when I was single and traveling with gay friends. Definitely lots of options for the gay traveler in the "Zona Romantica". Food scene is great, weather is great. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended. Leave Costa Rica for when you're old and you just want to sit quietly and hold hands on the beach. 😉

What's anecdotal is your opinion. It's just your opinion, you're not looking at the data. Current sociological research is showing a significant increase in people who identify as bisexual. This runs concurrent in countries with a relaxed attitude toward social acceptance of such behavior. So the obvious conclusion is that Bisexuality is a far more common state of being than past research identified. Your biology may determine where you fall on the scale of bisexuality but when you decide to settle down with ONE partner you're going to need to make a choice. Bisexuals can choose to gay or choose to be straight in their relationships, but they will always remain bisexual.

I've been to both . PV is a great value for your dollar whether you're gay or straight. New Years Eve is like Mardi Gras with sexy boys out celebrating in the streets. Costa Rica is one of these poor third world countries where hotel chains buy up all the beaches and build resorts. The problem being that they are all separate and there's no central place where people mingle. To the best of my knowledge there is no exclusively gay resort in Costa Rica

Unfortunately this isn't one of them. Human sexuality is not Mineral Sciences. Perspectives on sexuality and sociology are an evolving subject. It was previously accepted that you're either gay or straight and a few people wander around the middle for a while until they accept they are actually gay. 😜 Now sociological studies show an increasing number of people who dwell in the middle for decades, and go back and forth between heterosexual relationships and homosexual relationships. Once social pressures for heteronormative behavior are relaxed, you see an increase in homosexual experimentation and it is only when one decides to settle down with a single partner does the event called CHOICE now supersede the "born this way" theory of being trapped in one's sexuality.

I remember being invited to a place called "ROUNDS" in NYC by some older gay men who had taken a liking to me. They had a decent restaurant there with good prices. I was probably only 21 at the time. Must have been at least 50 men said hello to me on my way to the men's room and on my way back. I didn't know what a hustler bar even WAS at that point in my life ! 😜 ..but I assume I could have made some serious business had I been working.
