  1. ... And?

To travel the world means accepting other cultural differences, even if that means they don't immediately understand you.

You can rally against what's not exactly like you or you can be an intrepid traveler. Rarely can you have both.

Hate is a strong word. I wouldn't say some of these places mentioned all hate gays.

There are hate crimes occurring in America on a daily or almost-daily basis. It is my belief we should address our own issues before castigating others. But then again I understand Avalon has to post something.

  2. I know it's necessary for the propagation and preservation of the human species. But why so many? It's 90%. I'd think 10% would be sufficient. Doesn't seem natural. Only a male can truly appreciate the beauty of another male. When it comes to appearance males have been graced with the more attractive, enticing looks. Examples: the lion with his mane, the peacock with his feathers and the human male is the culmination of evolutionary perfection!

  3. But it most likely won’t occur without a struggle, be anytime soon, and only after endless hours/weeks/ months spent on the apps.

Taking into consideration you had two young men interested in having sex with you and you turned one down because you are too cheap to spring for a hotel room and the other because apparently he wanted to engage in a different sexual position than is your favorite, then yes. You will likely face a struggle.

  4. Now you’re back to not quoting Or @ mentioning them so they don’t know you’re talking about them...

They were mentioned in passing. Why do you continue to avoid the question, Marylander? What insider knowledge do you have this time about Zachary Prince's escort "training ground," as it were? My guess is: none at all.

  5. This discussion was intended to be inflammatory and we are responding to someone who can barely string two sentences together into a coherent thought.

While it is his decision and right to engage in whatever behaviors he chooses, it is important to realize this man is still alive and able to post his enlightenment only because of the collected efforts of thousands of people worldwide and billions of dollars. He's had a little help.

Mmm, this may be a statement from a position of privilege. A lot of guys are really struggling right now, seemingly overnight, and really wondering if they're going be able to afford their rents in 20 days.

That may not be true of certain escorts who have always done well financially for various reasons, or who have a look that is popular anyway and thus have a bigger financial cushion or larger pool of regulars to pull from. If you're a member of of the less popular demographics when it comes to hiring, you may be quite bit more economically vulnerable. Staring homelessness in the face, all of a sudden, is not something to be taken lightly.

I hardly think Eric's statement comes from a place of privilege. Anyone who is making $50 or more per hour (which is on the low end of the escort scale and is significantly higher than many degreed professionals such as nurses and teachers) and is still "struggling" is doing so because of issues that are likely self-generated.

  7. "This one act when done in unison by all providers across the country will bring higher quality clients, making your work environment safer AND more profitable. This is only possible if everyone does it. We must stand together in unison as sex-workers. If you can respond to this letter with a simple ‘yes’ you are committing to bettering the quality of your life and future."

I think the meaning of those words are pretty clear. Everybody is entitled to their opinion, and if you choose to view that paragraph as saying money is the only thing that matters, that's your right. That's not what it says to me. The entire post does include the words "more profitable," But it also uses the words "safer environment" and "quality of your life and future."

The question I'm going to keep asking, rhetorically, is this: Fine. If you don't like this form of resistance, what form do you like? Or do you just not like the idea of resistance at all?

It is truly hard to find adequate justification to finance this "revolution" based on a copy-and-paste statement posted by an escort who is virtually unknown in this community. I also find it somewhat ironic and disturbing that the legislation is meant to curb sex-trafficking, while the other escort has bragged repeatedly about "training" new escorts. I am quite satisfied with maintaining my periodic relations with my previous hires, not one of whom has suggested a rate increase is in the near future. I believe the best form of resistance is to continue with business as usual, which is also simply good business.

  8. Since, @rossthebosssf in nowhere to be found, time to play grammar cop:

Okay, fair enough. At this point I've said what I needed to say. People can either accept it, learn and try to change...or deny it, and remain the same.

At this point, since it's the same critically LAME people responding and not contributing anything except rebuttles...I'm signing off. If anything intelligent is reposted, I'll like...but no comments.

    Your "corrections" are incorrect, half-wit.

  9. Atleast my hypothesis I should say:

But I am finding it somewhat uncanny , as this has been bought to my attention. However, I'm not surprised. As I've said before, I still feel as black escorts/men in the gay sex industry on many levels, just don't get the recognition deserved. And when it is, it's often compared or paired with someone else. Or it takes a certain amount of time/scenes done in porn to earn kudos. Even though both guys may be equally great, equal reviews: But on here, it's the same names being bought up.

It's very easy for someone to point out how many guys are listed on Rentmen, or a recent hire. But, speaking of 1 city or 1 person may not accurately portray the bigger overall picture.

The other thing is, black men are not supporting black escorts...as much. Much less than when I started for sure. An example, a met another gay black guy locally, not an escort or client. We went out a couple of times, and on two occasions...he would interrupt a conversation to slip a couple dollars in the G-strings of miscellaneous non-black dancers, and start grinding up on them, which just so happened to be featured and exclusive to the party. And for anyone who doesn't frequent gay bars, usually when you're there with someone...it's cordially "assumed" you guys are together, unless explicitly stated. It doesn't matter if it's true or not, but people perceive things...and it's best to preserve the atmosphere of a situation by not being too obvious about it.

It wasn't an issue of him paying them versus me (and turns out, he was a real creep and I had to cut that social tie quick). It was more an issue of yet another gay black dude, conforming to the whole idea that your sexual desires are to be constantly fine tuned to seek out non-blacks who are freaks. Meanwhile, he did it in a way to make me feel undesirable in the process, which I can't have that....because why would I let another black dude size me up, to some White go go dancers, when I can be doing so much better for myself, and have? (He later apologized for being a jerk, a week later...but by then I'd already moved on and found me a White guy to go home with instead.)

Anyhow...that's more of a deeper aspect and nitty gritty of the underlying things. But ultimately, it's an example of why and how Black escorts aren't being favored enough, even by those amongst us. Again. I'm not saying all. I know there's people out there who do.

The other thing I feel, is that more White guys seem to treat us disposable. It's to the point that in my personal life, I've become better accustomed to moving on, and not being surprised when a White guy flakes and disappear and never respond to texts, then see him at the club the next day. But nowadays, it happens more suddenly and more frequently. I generally date more varied, but some of this behavior is moving down to other races too as acceptable.

So like when they say, "the apple don't fall too far from the tree"...those same behaviors fall right into the schedules of black escorts, who are dealing with such behaviors from majority White clients. I believe because of that, many (Black) guys are either going on sudden "retirements" or getting into other things.

I will go ahead and read through the lines and presume you had a bad week.

  10. nice, the forum's perennial grump is back......latbear's post (here in the "Ask An Escort" subforum) is very helpful to those who need to know that information.....while being discreet, he has first-hand knowledge and is offering what he can....

Having a difference of opinion regarding the usefulness of a post is hardly being the "forum grump." Perhaps instead of attacking me for criticising a post that serves to scare, rather than inform anyone of anything actually useful you should take a page from one of our more upbeat and prolific users and jump on the "Who likes avocado?" type-thread bandwagon.

  11. Interesting information in this post. Thanks latbear4blk. Now I understand why I can’t find anyone one RM. I’m going in the beginning of April. Staying at HHV in Waikiki. This is a long overdue ‘nurture me’ trip. I don’t really understand. If someone is on RM and I invite them to my hotel, how do police and prostitution stings enter this picture? The tower I’m staying in is secure, private and I just let the front desk know I’m expecting a guest. Pretty simple. Now, I must say that My last visit was close to 20 years ago! Things must have changed drastically since then. Is posting on CL or using apps safe? I’m woke and shook now .

Thanks for what, exactly? The last 10 posts or so have been about a television program, while the real topic of the thread was never really addressed. So far we know that someone was arrested somewhere in Hawaii.

  12. I noticed that a very well reviewed (both reviews and forum feedback I have seen) companion I am trying to a schedule a meeting with, recently changed his RM add from Safe Only to Ask Me.

Should I be concerned? I don't mean to be close minded but I normally restrict my meetings to individuals that state they are Safe Only. What do you all think?

You should be concerned if you base making decisions about personal safety off the opinions of strangers in a chat forum, especially if being “closed-minded” is an issue.

  13. Well aside from the fact that you’ve used the word diatribe incorrectly (could you have possibly meant jeremiad by any chance?), I was answering a question.

    Gman

Perhaps I should have said “pointless whining” instead. This is not the first time you have shot down every positive suggestion for self-improvement that has been directed your way, nor will it be the last given your posting history.
