Having seen one of his murals in CDMX, I can believe that they would make a visit to this museum worthwhile.

RM not accepting Visa anymore!? What the actual f$ck?
mike carey replied to BuffaloKyle's topic in The Lounge
I haven't watched the video that @BuffaloKyle posted but the DOJ suit is about the fees Visa charges merchants (that the public do not see) and their basis for charging the fees which apparently vary depending on the issuer of the card. As I understand merchants can't pick and choose which visa cards to accept and they don't know in advance what the fees are. I doubt the same rules apply in the EU (they don't here) as I doubt EU competition rules would allow predatory transfer fees. I also doubt that it's an issue of visa being puritanical in its attitude to RM, or there being issues of perceived criminality (they would probably also affect MC), I suspect it's some sort of issue that RM has with visa or the financial institution that processes those transactions (although why it seems to have been applied inconsistently is a mystery to me). -

Others have commented that RM declined some payments from gift cards. There are rechargeable mastercard debit cards that may work, some can be loaded with multiple currencies (not relevant for paying an RM account). You would expect a multi-currency card to work outside the US but it would pay to check whether USD ones do. (PayPal apparently has one.) -
A Bulitzer if i recall.

Are we ready for a 'cashless' society ?
mike carey replied to Ali Gator's topic in Personal Finance & Investing
Mainly because I was talking about Australia and the 'feds' here aren't doing anything because it's completely legal if the business also accepts cash. At present, at least. As I noted later in the same paragraph, the regulators (the competition and consumer commission or the reserve bank) are considering banning it. -
GASP!! Who knew?

Welcome back @Gar1eth! On this one I think you're overthinking this and possibly applying an unfortunate stereotype about what gay men are 'permitted' and 'not permitted' to be and do. In reality there are gay men who wouldn't be seen dead using any 'product' and other who wouldn't be seen dead without it. There's a yin for every yang.

I use cash irregularly and I'm quite happy to use electronic means of payment. I resented the surcharges some businesses apply but I've since accepted it is what it is (even though they suck up the cost of handling cash). Charging them is illegal here if they don't accept cash, but it seems not to be enforced. The regulators are looking at banning them. Several years ago the airport here installed gates where you could insert your card on arrival and the same one on departure and they charged for the elapsed time, and most shopping centres seem to scan your number plate, then you type it into the machine to get your exit ticket. Helps if you can remember your registration number. I'm happy with those developments. One of my credit cards sends a message to their app on my phone whenever I pay something with it. It's still kind of mind blowing if I pay $3 for parking my phone beeps straight away to tell me I've done it. -

And in an unexpected maths moment there we see the way numbers are written in India, with up-steps in multiples of 100 rather than the 1000 we are used to. One crore is 1,00,00,000 (10m for us), and the step down from that is 1,00,000 or 1 lakh. The symbol ₹ for rupee is the Devanagari letter r with an additional line across it. All letters have a line across the top that joins the letters into words and if you're writing on lined paper the text is below the line rather than on top as it is in English (among others). No 'tops' jokes, please.

The question was 'What Latino men are the hottest' so whether Middle Eastern, Mediterranean or some Indian men are attractive is not relevant.

Calling all gourmet cooks! Calling all gourmet cooks!

Since the topic of a this sale has come up in the this forum, perhaps some of our kitchen wizards who actually use this brand of cookware could provide a review of what it's like to cook with. -

Danny is one of a kind (and kind he is). It's always great to see him. To the wider point, to be sure it seems too often that there is a lack of grace in chat and other forums, but both there and in our quotidian lives we take so much for granted and so rarely take time to pause and count our blessings, particularly the blessing we have in knowing those we hold dear.

Moderator's Note Gentlemen, please bear in mind that this thread is about The Sharok. While inital comments last year drawing parallels with others who had apparent preferences for twinks were okay, continuing general commentary on any of those others is off topic, especially given subsequent developments affecting at least one. We have removed some comments that went down that path. Please stick to the topic at hand.

I agree it's more likely regulatory approval, not the delivery structure.
