  1. It seems as if Kings is as boring, I mean as interesting as ever.
  2. I'm just watching the Aotearoa-Pakistan cricket game from Tauranga, and it's just before 1930 NZDT, 15 minutes into the game as the sun sets. The game has just paused as team members bring trays of fruit, drinks, and dates onto the field for the Pakistani players to have an impromptu iftar. How the players manage to practise and warm up for the game without food or drinks all day, I will never know. Pakistan comfortably won the previous game a couple of days ago, but Aotearoa/New Zealand is off to a flying start tonight.
  3. Joe Ingles gets first NBA start for Minnesota Timberwolves so son can see him play - ABC News WWW.ABC.NET.AU Just days after Joe Ingles's son made it through his first live NBA game, Minnesota coach Chris Finch starts the 37-year-old so his family can see him play.
  4. Could be something like this: Male sexual enhancers from the Peruvian Amazon - PubMed PUBMED.NCBI.NLM.NIH.GOV The traditional preparations used to improve sexual performance in the Peruvian Amazon showed activity as...
  5. For me spring will start on 8 Apr (although on the 10th in PS it will be summer if past experience is any guide!) but until then it will be autumn (but high 20s to low 30s for the next week or so).
  6. Moderator's Note Ladies and gentlemen, although there is an obvious political undercurrent to the thread, the OP noted that he did not want the thread to be a discussion about politics. Accordingly, please refrain from discussing the politics directly in the thread, there is plenty of scope for a discussion on the raw financial reasons for changes to sponsorship. We have removed some text that ventured into the political realm. Thank you for your cooperation. I had drafted this post earlier but it didn't post at the time. Apologies for it being out of sequence.
  7. From the Beeb article, UA flights are returning to their departure airports of diverting, and the two Qantas flights to London have diverted to Paris. It's 5pm here so we'll see this unfold in prime time on Friday evening.
  8. Well, this is awkward! A fire in a power substation near Heathrow Airport has forced its closure until at least midnight on Firday. Heathrow Airport closes all day over power outage WWW.BBC.COM It comes in response to a "significant" outage linked to a fire at a nearby electrical substation.
  9. Interesting, it's working properly for me in all four themes.
  10. No, they do not choose to step into any sort of spotlight, they choose to say publicly who they are. Doing so takes away, inch by inch, from the power that those who claim that any LGBTQI+ identity is an abomination have over them, and anyone else. And yes, that includes opprobrium for bi people from those same haters. Australian conservatism is less censorious than its US counterpart, as far as I can see. Australian conservatives may not like public displays of gay identity, but they are unlikely to see it as an affront to their dignity and more likely as something they should have looked away from, as not their business. There is still a hard core element that is unabashedly homophobic, but most people are accepting or just keep their peace if they don't like it. Transphobia is perhaps the exception, but even there acceptance is more common.
  11. I just saw this piece on the ABC web site, published yesterday. A-League player Josh Cavallo reveals death threats he receives since coming out as gay - ABC News WWW.ABC.NET.AU Adelaide United defender Josh Cavallo, Australia's first openly gay professional footballer, says he still receives...
  12. Some of us take the arrival of a new member here more seriously than others. Welcome to the forum! You are not the first woman to join us, and several have been active participants, commenting on a variety of subjects, not just our shared hobby. I hope you find the forum useful. I see you have been lurking as a member for a at least some of the weeks you've been lurking. Again, welcome.
  13. Moderator's Note Gentlemen, a reminder not post personal information on providers who are discussed in the forums.
  14. There is a case to be made (surely not a serious one ... surely??) that Manhattan is apart from the US, or even on a different planet. I would never say such a thing, of course! And The New Yorker would never publish a cover cartoon that implied such a thing. I can't wait to go back there!
  15. I haven't read Lolita, but several years ago I bought and promptly forgot about Reading Lolita in Tehran. I really should read both. Reading Lolita in Tehran - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG
  16. That's the edited gist of a reply I made to a member about this, summarising things as I saw them. I don't know what's happened but it least it isn't site-wide and we can read it sensibly although not in the way some of us prefer.
  17. Same here, dark mode in more ways than one!
  18. I don't think it's surprising. From his time in porn he would have been accustomed to frequent and rigorous testing (or noticed cases of STIs) and be quite aware of the risks of having unprotected sex with people whose status he has no way of knowing, or of knowing how careful they have been. Escorting is a far less controlled environment than filming porn, so potentially more risky, or that may well be his assessment.
  19. Oops, thanks! I've edited it to make sense. I'll leave the evidence you quoted of my error for all to see.
  20. G'day @AlfonsoXL, welcome to the Forum. Hope that you find it useful for planning your trip and more broadly. The cities you've mentioned are in South East and East Asia. The moderators can change the title if you wish us to do so (click on the three dots at the top right of your post, select 'Report' and tell us what you want us to do). I've also moved your question to the Forum devoted to Asia (and Africa and Australia) but for the next week there'll be a link there from the Questions forum where you posted it.
  21. I don't speak Spanish and don't recall what it means, particularly in context, I just recall some of the conversation here. Just now, from my attempts at googling it, the Spanish word mórbido does have the English meaning, but it also has a meaning of soft or delicate. I think last time it came up there was some talk of it having slang or informal meanings as well. I seem to remember that @José Soplanucas was one of those who commented (I could be wrong). He is an Argentine native speaker, so he may also have commented on regional differences in the meaning of the word.
