Yes David, that is me. Reading through this thread you'll find a lot of suggestions, especially in regards to sterilization. Again, I don't own an autoclave, so I tend to stick with boiling and/or alcohol swabs. I also prefer standard lubes (either quality silicone or hybrid, I don't like most water-based) over medical lubricant. Also, you want to wash your hands very well and try to only touch the end of the rod, rather than parts that will be going inside you. I would say at least 80% of my clients that attend it tell me that they enjoy it, though I don't think many of them make it a regular part of their sexual play, but neither do I. For the record, I do try and ensure that my sounding experiences are as sterile as possible, without having an autoclave available. I use alcohol swabs to sterilize the rods, I place them on paper towels or fresh/unused hand towels and I try to only touch the proximal ends of the rods, so that areas that I'm touching are not entering the urethra. For the record though, I don't much care for medical lube, it's not slippery enough and there's too much friction which creates the potential for damage. I figure that silicone lube being squeezed from a bottle is likely sterile enough. None of my clients have experienced any medical issues after sounding with me.
