Well, there are times during sessions I have at hotels where the provider and I mutually agree to turn on the TV for a few minutes, but that’s to help drown out the noise of paddles being applied to my bare ass with considerable vigor 😀!

I have heard the same thing about South Florida!  When MZB was touring in the U.S. in early 2023 (he’s now retired), he came to New Orleans, and I met with him six times in seven days, and he told me that he got no clients whatsoever during his stay in Miami.

New Orleans has a history of not being a great destination to find clients either (the listings barely expand even during Southern Decadence), but the appearance of @PhileasFogg on the scene kind of changed that 😀!
I personally think you’re going to do quite well in many U. S. cities because I think your profile is stellar, but there’s no doubt some cities seem to be places where the juice just isn’t worth the squeeze.  Hopefully forum members can help you avoid them so you don’t waste time or resources.

I don’t take it as an attack at all, and he wasn’t supposed to know.
It also hasn’t upset me (at least not long term) because, on a scale of 1-10 on the quality of our sessions, he was, at best a “4.”  That goes directly to my commentary about how “weak” the New Orleans market is (at least for what I’m looking for) and has been for at least the last 15 years.

If things don’t go well with any given provider (and that has been the case on maybe 5% of the guys I’ve hired over the years), I tend to just avoid conflict or any potential thereof and just move on.  When he made it so obvious that meeting with me was practically a burden or, at a minimum, a huge inconvenience, I could not get a good mindset for continuing.
In addition to being “weak,” the New Orleans market is also very small and, for reasons that I prefer not to publicize here (or even discuss via PM), that also played a significant role in my decision to sever ties with him.
As I sated in this post on Ian_Twink, I’ve found a perfect “10” on that 1-10 scale so, even though it means an eight-hour bus ride each way (and getting a hotel for a couple of nights), it’s something that I’m only too happy to do because he is my dream perfect provider for the unique desires I have for a fulfilling and enjoyable encounter.

The issue is deeper than that for me.  I’ve hired for 21 years, and I’ve always been very respectful of any provider’s time.

I take a quick glance at my watch as I know the session’s end is approaching, and it is always me who says, “Well, I see we only have a few minutes left, and I’ve had a fantastic time and look forward to seeing you again.”

Of course, if the session is so mediocre that I know I won’t be rehiring, I just express appreciation for him meeting with me.
In 21 years and having never experienced this act of a timer being set until four months ago,  even having a timer set, for me personally, felt like an insult that I couldn’t be trusted to not infringe upon or be respectful of his time.  That’s just my take on the whole incident.

In response to this post, @Mark_fl revealed the fact that he'd once been placed on a timer by a provider.  From his post:
"5) I know we're paying for time  and it's a business, but I don't want to feel like he's watching the clock. One guy set a timer. Talk about ruining the fantasy of the BFE."
I had the same thing happen about four (4) months ago.  The guy set the timer, and he indicated our time was up before it even went off (I hired for an hour).  I could tell from the start that he was about the money and nothing but the money because I indicated that I didn't know how long we'd been together.  His reply, "Don't worry.  We can always extend it."  Obviously, he meant by doubling his compensation.
Anyway, he said the time was up, got dressed, and headed for the door.  I accompanied him and, what he may not have realized is that the phone app I utilize records the date AND time of a text sent or received.  Well, he texted me, "I'm at your front door."  At the point that I closed the door to let him out, I checked that text.  The elapsed time between when he sent it and the door closing for his departure was 43 minutes (17 minutes short of the hour for which I'd hired him).
The New Orleans market is weak (and that's being very kind), so I contemplated for an extended period (several days) whether I would ever have him back over given that I'd enjoyed a decent time in the 43 minutes he was at my apartment, but not only did I feel cheated out of approximately $85, I felt certain it was intentional.
Because the market is so weak in New Orleans, and he was willing to travel an hour to reach my apartment (though he added to his standard fee to compensate for him having to travel, which I fully understood and agreed to pay), I opted to hire him again.  I did think maybe there was a small chance he inadvertently set the time to the wrong amount of time.
Second visit was the same routine.  Timer set only this time the timer literally went off!  I said, "Boy, that was fast," to which he replied, "No, I arrived an hour ago." [Not accurate].  So, he departs again and, with my apartment only eight steps from one of three pools in the complex, he actually said, "Maybe next time I (not "we") can hang out by the pool after we're done."  I said, "Sure!"  I also said to myself that, unless he's ever at the complex visiting any other resident, that would be the last time he would ever see that pool.
His R/M ad was gone after about six weeks, and he confided to me that I was the only client who had hired him during the time it was up.
Just curious.  Are Mark_fl and I the only clients who have ever literally been set to a timer?

I saw a provider who left the TV playing during our session.  It was some police drama series with one hour episodes, maybe CSI or Law & Order or some other similar show.  I thought it was weird but I ignored the TV during the session.  I thought the provider was ignoring it too, but later I realized they were using the show as a timer.

HA!   Well I have a feeling that recent FAA mandates may have the effect of creating an “import tariff” on mature, intelligent, drug free providers 😅.
But as @thruster indicates, @Braziliancutee will fit a niche that’s vacant in so many places

My sole activities that I enjoy are worshipping feet, being spanked, and having my face sat upon.  I always just jerk off myself to “take care of things” as I refer to it in my own RM profile.
When I first started hiring 21 years ago (and for about 10-12 years thereafter), I would be so aroused and excited that I would “take care of things” after only about 20 minutes, after which I was perfectly content to just call it a highly satisfying session and be on my way.  I never met a provider who wasn’t very content for that to be the case, and one provider even said, “I love how all this turns you on so much and so fast, and it makes it so much easier for me.”
Now, however (at age 62), “things” are much harder to “take care of,” so I always wait until after the provider leaves before even attempting.  Being honest, I don’t want the embarrassment of not being able to go “over the top” in 3-4 minutes, nor do I want the provider to somehow feel he “missed the mark.”
That’s why now the duration of a session is far more significant to me than it was 20 years ago.  When “Mr. Timer” left that second time, I could not even come close to “taking care of things,” so I just stared at a photo of a retired provider from when he and I met 15-20 years ago, and I fantasized that it had been him I’d just met with rather than “Mr. Timer.”

I completely relate.  I suspect with the apps, you kiss 9 frogs to find a prince. But for me, the prince would also be one who saw something cool in you AND might be a FWB.
I’m new to the apps.  I’ve had 100 or so app “inquiries” (from me or to me) which resulted in five encounters, of which 2 were princes…and I’m neither a spring chicken nor a silver fox (and there are members of this forum who’ve met me and can attest to that 😅)
Don’t make it about your appearance.  Make it about “the package” including experience, respect, nurture, fun loving etc.  Be as fit and energetic as you can be but don’t apologize for what you can’t change.  And see it as an excavation where you’re peeling back layers of mud to find a few diamonds

Two of my last three hires ended the session at about the 40 minute mark. The one was in NYC at a really good rate and he’d come to my hotel so I wasn’t that mad but the other charged a $50 premium for the outcall and still cut it short. I really liked him but he blew the chance at having a regular client.
The third recent hire I thought was going to do the same but we ended up snuggling and chatting and he went maybe 10 minutes over. He got a tip and I’d hire again.
The two I mentioned here are not the only ones who’ve done this either and I’ve never repeated with any early departure guy.

I have had an alarm go off - we had finished playing and were dressed and just doing after chit chat after. didn't bother me at all. I don't think the issue here that he set a reminder for the time - the problem is that he set the time for 45 minutes instead of one hour for you.

I have one provider I’ve hired several times during the last 3 years, and even though he never sets a timer or alarm, his sessions end exactly when the agreed time is up, not a minute more, not a minute less. Technically, I can’t complain since he delivers exactly what I pay for, but I have to admit, it does bug me a little that he won’t linger even a few extra minutes.
I’ve definitely had my share of providers who cut sessions short and needless to say, they never get a second booking from me.

If I do an out call and say the client books an hour I always go over the hour. In my head I just schedule 90 mins for an hour’s booking. I like to arrive a few minutes early, and then build in plenty of time when ‘time is up’ because you can’t just up and leave on the spot. So an hour’s session last up to 90m by the time I’ve got out of their place.
It sounds like the OP hired a guy who’s not really taking the job seriously. Caveat emptor is the relevant phrase…
