Yes, he’s spending like a drunken sailor so that he can complain about being over-taxed. A proud Murican.

Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen, Happy New Year...a real dud.

Who was that guy in the bar that Don Lemon kissed? (I had the sound off.) -

It would at least be momentarily watchable if they started making out. And then invited Don Lemon for a three-way. -
I agree about requiring police to live within the community (though in a sprawl like LA, I'm not certain how specific it could be). Otherwise, an "occupying force" comes to mind.

What’s that blue arrow pointing at?

Ninety minutes ago: Bitcoin fell toward $15,000 after the cryptocurrency’s biggest rally in two weeks ended a rout that wiped more than $9,000 off the price. The largest digital coin fell 4.6% to $15,214 at 10:08 a.m. in New York, having earlier climbed as much as 3.6%. Among rival digital currencies, ripple extended its gains to 9.6%, while ethereum and litecoin fell 1.2% and 6.2% respectively, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The relatively quiet day for bitcoin comes on the heels of a five-day slump that reached 44% at its depths and took the coin below $11,000 on Friday. Just four days earlier, it rose within striking distance of $20,000 after a torrid advance that started in early December.

Why do I get the feeling you would be responsive to career appeals from Trump University? Or The Wizard of Oz?

Wow. That journalist sounds very unethical. S/he’s supposed to disclose whether the contact is for reporting purposes, and not to do that on a social site is pretty bad.

The money thing is a common issue. On one hand, if your financial situation is such that the help is just beyond you, a therapist will likely work with you to figure out something affordable. On the other hand, if it’s more just a general concern, the fee is an indication to the therapist of your seriousness; paying every week is a definite spur to a patient doing the necessary work!

Well, therapy is about improving yourself, so it isn’t just “talking about your problems.” That’s what friends are for . Professionals are for something else. One thing to realize is that the process takes time. It took a while to become the person you are, and want to change, when you first walk into a therapist’s office, so it will take a while to undo that stuff and make the changes. The initial appointment is the place to be as specific and as honest as possible about why you are there, what you hope to accomplish and what your fears of being there are. Kman also makes an excellent point: The key is to find a really good therapist. That’s not easy. You’ll know fairly quickly whether or not you can work with the person.

Hey, doofus. You’re the one who first decided to reply directly to my post about the 20% drop, which wasn’t written to you. Grow up. And dump the misogynistic “Nancy” crap.

Hunh. How odd. Gizmodo heard the crash. Maybe you need to visit an audiologist? https://gizmodo.com/bitcoin-crashed-and-took-the-whole-market-down-with-it-1821529613

Just a wild guess. Or maybe a mild-to-wild guess.

Slowly ease into it is also what Victor Powers recommends for his very nice *ss, I believe.

What's that big crashing noise I just heard? Oh, it's just Bitcoin losing 20% of its value today. Oops.
-
Could be. It was repressive 2,300 years ago too.

Hm. Not exactly. As they say, it’s complicated! In ancient Greece, sex was generally understood in terms of dominance, rather than a matter of the sexes of the participants. Sex with a boy was not considered to be a homosexual act, given that the “man” would be taking on a dominant role, and his disciple would be taking on a passive one (“like” a woman). Adult sex between men was considered unacceptable. When intercourse occurred between two people of the same gender, it still wasn’t entirely regarded as a homosexual union, given that one partner would have to take on a passive role, and would therefore no longer be considered a “man” in terms of the sexual union. The passive adult role was looked down on.

The market (the S&P 500) has risen 17.5% so far in the Trump presidency. It rose 37.5% over the equivalent part of the Obama presidency. The president* is a known con-man. One in three Americans supports him. Good luck with bitcoin.

Radiant heat. Like a barbecue grill.

I’ve met Ada Tolla and Giuseppe Lignano, the Lo-tek architects. If they weren’t so attractive and didn’t have such seductive Italian accents, their shipping-container gimmick would have been DOA. Instead, it has limped along for 20 years.

One of the least homophobic guys I have ever known is straight. Until I learned otherwise for certain, I assumed when we met that he was gay. Nope.

Josh, I don’t know you, but neither do I believe you. And not for any reason other than the impossibility of such perfection. Humility, not grandiosity, is healthy. Ask your therapist, who sounds like s/he helped you a great deal.
