Pennsylvania's involuntary manslaughter statute says: 2504. Involuntary manslaughter. (a) General rule.--A person is guilty of involuntary manslaughter when as a direct result of the doing of an unlawful act in a reckless or grossly negligent manner, or the doing of a lawful act in a reckless or grossly negligent manner, he causes the death of another person. (b) Grading.--Involuntary manslaughter is a misdemeanor of the first degree. Where the victim is under 12 years of age and is in the care, custody or control of the person who caused the death, involuntary manslaughter is a felony of the second degree. http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/LI/consCheck.cfm?txtType=HTM&ttl=18&div=0&chpt=25&sctn=4&subsctn=0&mobile_choice=suppress So in Pennsylvania, involuntary manslaughter has to rest on an act of commission, not an act of omission. What happened here may well meet the definition of a lesser included charge. I invite everyone else to go digging for what that might be, which will take more effort than googling "involuntary manslaughter PA" did.

Welcome to the brave new world of FOSTA.

@TruHart1 posted an earlier thread about him, too. He is a cutie and very informative -- the first thing I saw by him was a YouTube video about the important of hiring deaf actors for non-hearing roles because the way they sign is more expressive, and accurate, than hearing actors. I've also seen tweets of his about how inadequate closed captioning machines used at movie theaters are and advocating for the use of captioning in the movies themselves -- not necessarily at every showing, but at some to properly serve deaf customers. Just about everyone else in the world does automatic closed captioning.

Hyundai seems to be doing fine with sedans like Sonata. (I own a 2003.) Maybe, just maybe it's Ford, not sedans in general.

But those people are wrong. And those are two-spirit people being described, who live on the border between two genders and might from our perspective be considered trans or gender non-conforming. This seems as good a place as any to say that while I identify and present as cis (female) because when I was growing up no other possibilities were publicly open to me, if I were say my daughter's age (she was born in 1994) I would identify as nonbinary or genderqueer because our conceptions of gender are such a crock. I still wouldn't wear heels (they kill my feet) and I'd still wear clothes with stylized flower prints and bright colors. I gave up skirts and dresses because I can't find pantyhose that fit and I don't enjoy cold legs.

Why is a guy in high heels a chick? You should really speak to Elizabethan dandies. They wore high heels. Or Jo Kwon.

And that - the exploitation and reluctance - is why I prefer Men on Edge. Also Van Darkholme is that rarity: an Asian man who is portrayed as hunky and dominant.

Projection much? In her autobiography, Linda Lovelace alleged her husband coerced her into intercourse with (their?) German shepherd. -

I'm also here for gender-flipping and changing characters' races. It adds depth and commentary and combats the often unconscious tendency to treat cis white men as default protagonists. Or, as in this case, heterosexuality as the default. -

From @cerestheories' Twitter: Someone at my husband’s work shared this photo of a stray cat in their neighborhood. He’s being professional and not saying anything, but after I told him what I saw when I looked at the cat... source -

Pet ownership is symbiotic. Some pets (dogs more than cats) will tolerate abuse, but they often can leave. Also, animals become domesticated for their own reasons. It's not like breaking in a horse. It's believed domestic dogs got that way because they were attracted to human fires and were fed, therefore not having to rely as much on hunting and attaining more secure shelter. Cats do their own thing and deign to shack up with humans. Actually with cats it makes more sense to view the cat as owning the human. -

That's reproductive control, and if you were ever around a cat in heat you would understand why it's a relief to the cat to be spayed. Also tomcats have barbs on their penises, which makes sex ouchy. Animal overpopulation and the need to kill perfectly good pets is what's cruel. -

But is that a conscious choice or instinct? Part of the problem here is that the kind of consent we aspire to, or that at least some aspire to, isn't possible with animals because they have different sorts of consciousness than we do and because we can't communicate with them as directly or easily as with other humans. In the face of that uncertainty, it's more ethical to leave well enough alone. There's no reason or need to play with Fido when there are human alternatives that don't pose the same conundrums. -

Animals can't consent. You have no idea what the animal is thinking and there isn't the possibility for communication and mutuality that exists with another person. My polyamorous gentleman caller agrees with you, which makes me wrinkle my nose and question his judgment. -
