Having been on the tube's Elizabeth line a lot this past week, let me reiterate how beautiful a job they did on it. It's just so damned clean. And there's strong wifi.

Finally caught the show the night before opening. It's old school Broadway entertainment. Yuk-yuk style punchlines, belty voices, big dance numbers and a silly plot line that makes zero sense, but somehow works. Marc Shaiman recycles some oldies from Smash. Always fun to hear live. Adrianna Hicks, while a fantastic singer, is no actress. She was the weak spot for me in the show, actually. Her line readings were flat. Her 11 o'clock number(s) were great. Natasha Williams kills as Sweet Sue. Tons of Broadway vets in the show (Angie Schworer, Jenny Hill, Adam Heller). The show works because the cast makes it look effortless and like they're having fun.

The show is basically an anthology. With Tanya gone, it'll likely be a whole new cast in S3. As much as I like Coolidge, she needed to go. She's not a strong enough actress to carry through as the common thread.

Eh. The NYC subway is a right of passage and a part of life in the city. It ain't fancy, but it gets the job done and almost universally faster than trying to get an Uber from the LES to midtown in less than a half hour. I've never felt unsafe riding.

A high FICO guarantees you little today. It's a marginally better rate, but certainly not streets paved in gold. Chicago is a whole other animal for dealing with cold weather. As a native, I have respect for that, but don't miss it. I still have PTSD from shoveling and throwing salt.

A chargeback doesn't always work, especially if you agreed to terms of the non-refundable rate. Moreso, in the future, that hotel will likely refuse to do business with you. Airlines do that as well if you're known to them as someone who charges back.

I highly don't recommend their frozen stuff. It's nowhere near what you get eating there. The bottled sauce is fantastic and nearly a carbon copy of the original in Harlem. The condiments are also solid (olive oil, vinegar, olives, mushrooms, pesto).
